Prologue!
(Trying something new...)
Deep inside a decommissioned labouratory far under the Karoshi Technic's offices in Century Station, the machinery start to light up. Monitors blinked with the notification of an incoming call against the darkened walls of the large, empty room.
The humming of machines and the cooling famns picks up as the light on the pad grows lighters. Fans cooling the equipment blow the dust sheets, whisking their ends into the air.
After reaching a fever pitch, the light blinding, the system cools and starts to shut down. Something... 10 feet tall, and clearly not human, steps off, in the darkness, vanishing into the unlit room.
A night security guard poked his head in and, seeing an empty, quiet room, closes the door and goes on his way...
Meanwhililogue!
Well, the next day, Daveris took her chance, and took it big time. It earned the compliments of the judges, that she could take a chance to try something outside her style. She ended up making it to the next round.
Kendall's work was running fairly smoothly. The show must have some significant backers, since the baud rate for the uplinks was clearly higher than the norm in Century Station. At this point, he was watching over the connection for a conference call with the producer, the network and one of the advertisers. Something about the community of super heroes and violence that is CS does not portray an image the advertisers like.
Next round was a kind of Broadway round: West Side Story, the Jet's song.
