CH 16: Moving on... (Mai and Kendall)

[Dome]

Looking up from his laptop Kendall realizes he now has newspaper wallpaper, "William, what the hell did you do to my wall? I'm never going to get my security deposit back now. Did you find anything helpful, or did you not like my decorating sense?"

Kendall shakes his head and looks back at the screen, "it seems they get to the Labyrinth pretty quickly when something happens there. Could mean that their base is near there. Not sure how to track its exact location though, not like they would advertise."

Kendall leans back, putting his arm around Mei again and stares at the screen.

Mei not sure looks up at the newspapers on the wall and starts reading them from where she is sitting to see if there is a pattern at all or see if William has a method to this.

[Dome]

"What do you think hun," Kendall asks after a moment. He turns and looks at Mei and realizes she is staring at the newspaper on the wall.

He nudges her and says, "any idea what he is doing?"

Since she hasn't seen sunlight for several hours, yet, she doesn't get solar-power high-level bonuses... It is near midnight, by the way.

"Hmm?" William answered Kendall, distractedly. "Yes." He adds, not noting which he said yes to.

"They don't advertise." William says. "But he does." He points at one of the clippings. Some kind of 30th anniversary of a company selling a patented toothbrush bristle that changed the industry. "And he did." He says, pointing to an article. "But, what's most interesting is these." He points to a long line of aritcles, neatly organized in one clean column. "Labrynth labrynth, labrynth... all on the Brisby Flats side, apparantly."

The articles that Kendall found were more varied than William's in terms of location.

[Dome]

"So you see the Labyrinth too then," Kendall says and pauses as he extricates himself from Mei and stands in front of the articles William organized. "I guess that will be our first move in the morning. When its daylight. No way are we going near the Labyrinth at night."

[Renekin Skywalker]

"I don't think they're in the Labrynth, though." William says, pointing to a messy group of other Iron Brigade articles. "In these snippets in brisby, they join the fight, en masse, almost right away. But in the others, it's later, or only one or two."

[Dome]

Kendall zooms in on the articles in question. "So not the Labyrinth, but the Flats then. Still its late, Mei needs nourishment and she only gets that from the sun. Rushing out there now is a bad idea. We can spend some more time looking into the brigade maybe narrow our search even more, get some rest, and then at first light head out. What do you think Mei?"

[sasqaricious]

As she leans her head on his shoulder, "Hmmm, sleep sounds really, really good, but if now is the time to strike it is fine. I mean I am far from useless in a fight even at night. I can create forcefields and all that nice stuff. So really it is up to you and what William thinks" She waits for the response from them.

[Dome]

"I wasn't implying you were useless hun. I'd honestly prefer not to fight if we can avoid it to be honest. I just think heading out now would be reckless. I was up early, you had your performance today. I think we both need some rest. Tomorrow we'll be fresh and can head out. William can't this wait until the morning? its only 8 hours away."

[Renekin Skywalker]

"Yes, we can wait a few hours." William says. "Is it OK if I just sleep on the floor? Since the couch and bed already are in dispute."

Anyways... the next morning!

The trio had arrived at a fairly secluded meeting spot near a warehouse, with William fully visible at the moment. "Now, the Iron Bridage is a power armour group, so they must have a workshop somewhere." William was explaining. "So, we just have to find a place that looks like a machine shop, but is too clean to look like a normal everyday machine shop. Questions?"

"Um, yah, where do we start to look?" Mei asks pointing out the obvious especially since this in not her city.

[Renekin Skywalker]

"Warehouse district?" William asks, pointing in a direction. "THere's got to be one of them that fits the profile."

[Dome]

Kendall looks around and shakes his head, "this place is not a nice place hun. Stay close. William before we start looking I gotta know where we stand. All I know about time travel is from movies and TV shows. Your from the future, you came back to warn us, to get us to stop this virus. How much are you going to help us? Can you get involved, or are you just pointing us in the right direction or what."

Kendall pauses scratches the back of his head and looks up at the alien, "I guess what I'm asking is can I count on you? If the manure goes down, are you going to use that sword to help us, or are you just gonna watch?"

[Renekin Skywalker]

William looks down towards the littler human that is Kendall. His toothy grin, which was becoming a common sight on the Grackletooth, grew a little wider. "I'm here to help. When everything becomes clear, you'll see that there's no question about what I have to do." After a pause, he gives a slap on kendall's back. It was strong, but it felt restrained. "But I'm not gonna let you little creatures twist in the wind."

[Dome]

"Ok then, Lets go. And William, whatever happens, keep Mei safe, agreed?"

While waiting for an answer Kendall looks at Mei, "Hun before you say anything I know you can handle yourself, thats not why I'm telling him that. This is really not a good part of town, not anymore."
