"I told you I had a run in with the cops. I know a little about what you had to deal with."
Kendall reaches into his pocket and pulls out the card he was given by the officer today, and also the one he was given the day before. He places them on the table and slides them towards so she can see. Tapping each one he specifies, "today, yesterday."

Mei looks mildly confused but puts her card up as well as if wondering that is what he was going for. She then will study the cards for a moment and see if there are any differences.
"How do you mean you know what I had to deal with. I am unsure what you are driving at." She says while deep in her gut she thinks she knows what he is going for but whatever it is wants him to go first.

"Well in my case, I was accused of a few different things, but I didn't do anything wrong. They wanted information from me so they made things up. From what you have been saying, the cops wanted something from you too. To get it they accused you of doing something. Whether you saved those people or not they tried to make it seem like it was a bad thing just to get what they wanted."

Kendall and Mei might note that they each have a card from the same detective dealing with superhumans and such.

She feels relieved that he seems to be giving some form of olive branch over.

Kendall shrugs, sighs, and starts his story, "me I'm just a victim of circumstance. I was repaying a favor, doing some investigating for someone, turns out one of the guys I was following was part of the Cavaliers. They didn't take to kindly to me following one of their own. I still don't know what the big deal was."

"That is understandable, and I can see it as irratating. Although I also noticed you evaded my question of metahuman capabilities. Fine I can see that we are dancing around the same issue and neither of us will resolve it until one of us takes a leap of faith."
With that she creates a very small force field around the top of his drink!

Kendall watches the forcefield around his drink. "Nice work saving those people. I wasn't dodging your question purposefully. Military training 'need to know' and all that. I'm just a regular guy, or atleast I was. Had an accident, the doctors had to repair my body with metal and plastic."
He uses his bionic arm to knock on one of his legs to emphasize his point. "The people who 'fixed' me, gave me alot of extra's. I try not to use any of my implants. I just want to run my business in peace."

"I can see what you mean. All I wanted to do is fulfill my mothers wishes and do what I am good at. Which of course is my abilities to perform. There greatest wish was for me to become an actor or singer but I just want to see what I can do first before I go bigger. And now with all that is happening, I don't know what to do anymore." Pausing, "oh and besides the force fields, I can also fly and eating makes me sick as hell."
(OOC - still secretly thinking Daveris is a mage, rofl)

Kendall sits and digests what Mei says and says with a laugh, "then why the hell did you order anything at all? We should all just be what we want to be. No one can force us to do something we're not."

"Because it is to keep appearances up. I am not sure how the show would react if they knew I had some powers. I did not know how you would react, and I certainly do not know how Daveris would react. And right now you two are the only thing I really have as friends. As such I usually order food and either dispose of it when I have a chance or force myself to eat which does not agree with me."
