OK, we need a new thread to pick things up again!
The briefing...
Tobrias has called together an all-star cast.
Representatives of the police, the military, and the higest-ups of the Guild are there. In addition, there are Sarah's father, the complete Botufa family (all are magic users, even if they focus on entertainment), the Dragon of the West Guild, Shirth-Ssssoen, in human form, and Cryn-Jol, also a former West Guilder. The Botufas, Cryn-Jol and Shirth-Ssssoen were the last living members of the West Guild.
Eleutheroi couldn't keep them from coming. The West Guild failed because of an Intelligence taking over a member. They weren't about to let the city fall the same way.
The military and police, likewise, were interested in preserving the public peace, and were willing to bend and break a few of the normal rules, in this case, to do it.
Sarah and Coop really had the whole city at their disposal, this time.
"Keeps getting bigger, with you two." Says Rozatonosky.
Cryn-Jol (a very, very old Elf of a Shifter, owner of a store called Old World Antiquities) had sidled up next to Bianca. "I am impressed with your skills." He says, calmly. "If you want a change of work, you let me know."

Bianca looked around a little dazed at all the VIPs, but she responded politely, "Do you mean changing from research or from preventing beings from taking over the pyramid?"
She turned to face her questioner, and peered at him intently so he knew she was seriously considering his offer, not just making small talk.

Coop looked at Det. Roz and shrugged, " It's not like we can plan what crazy thing happens to Goltheria next." He looked at Sarah," I'm glad Tobrias called this meeting. I was worried for a minute there he was gonna dump it in our lap."

"So, it wasn't enough to put a hotel at risk, now you're going to risk the whole city, hmm?" Crynn'jol asks Tobrias after things were explained to the group.
"Out of order." Says Sarah's father, an angry growl behind it. "You and I know you would have done worse."
"Please." Says Shirth-Ssssoen. "We are here to serve the Slayers, not to debate matters already concluded. What do you need?" he asks.

" Oh crap, so much for that theroy." Coop said under his breath, taking Sarah's hand to bring her into the forefront as well. " I guess we're on, my love. you want to start?"

Sarah lays a comforting hand on her father's arm with a quiet smile in an effort to calm him down. Squeezing, Coop's hand, she smiles but looks nervous. She'd trained for this for years and, yet, still felt woefully unprepared for what needed to be done. Trying to look like she knew what she doing, she says "We should monitor any unexplained magical surges.. wouldn't that mean someone was trying to access the pyramid or the energy contained in it?" Sarah hopes this isn't a stupid question as she waits for a response.

Sarah looks thoughful as she nods. "That is a distinct possibility." she says after a minute. "We should try to be prepared for the possibility, at least. I don't want what happened to me to happen to anyone else."

" If there are henchman involved, odds are they are going to be for a diversion." Coop added. " I would think that we will need a couple lines of defense, but this is my first time doing anything like this. Either that or allow them to get close enough to pound them as a collective."
