" Guess that means I'll have to protect your old ass some more then." Balus chuckled as he went back tot the letter he was writing. Once it was done, he keyed the transmit button that would merge it into the ship's datastream and then send it out as a single transmission back home. Logging off, he set his comp on the table and crawled up into bed, 'accidently' giving the top bunk a good nudge with his shoulder. " Now I know why you wanted to bunk with me, so you'd get an oversized bunk too."

Looking to one of her assistants Kiadan nods. "Send this information to the captain. I'll go brief them on which planets we want to investigate first." Without so much as a preamble she turns tail literally and flies her way to the bridge; moving at a moderate pace.
Arriving on the bridge she stops and lands on the captain's chair. "My assistant should be feeding you the data we've discovered," Kiadan said. "These planets here are the most suitable for planetary terrestrial based life. These ones lend themselves to an aquatically life. I have a theory this one might hold life but not in the forms we think they'll be," she says indicating each of the planets with her tiny hand. "We've only jumped 250 or so light years from our planet... the engines should have taken us much further."

(Balus)
"heh. Believe what you want Junior. See you in a few hours" Slycer answers as the lights dim.
(Kiadan and Solaxis)
Solaxis, you are getting your bearings with the adjustment to the navigation system. You do not know anything about this particular star system.
Captain Roben looks over to the data and then to Kiadan. "Thank you, Dr. Kiadan. I think we'll be looking in the region where you believe habitable planets may be found first. My thanks."

Solaxis forward feeds the database information over as well, then moves over out of the way beside Von so as not to interfere with the bridge operations. looking at Von "congratulations, you're now one of the first among your race to breach another star system." grinning curiously to see her reaction.

Balus replied with an " Uh huh" as he set his chrono for four hours and then turned off his own light before rolling over to try to get to sleep.

Kiadan nods. "Isn't that why you brought me along? For my unmatched genius and creativity?" she asks in more of a statement then question way. "And just think of all the secrets these races will have and the positively wonderful experiments I can run upon them in the name of science!"

Slycer snores like a bear.
(Kiadan and Solaxis)
Captain Roben arches an eyebrow. "We can only hope Doctor." he turns to Solaxis. "Ambassador, do you know anything about this system?"

After he had had about all he could handle, Balus gave the top bunk a good thump to quiet his roommate. " would you knock it off? he sighed.

Kiadan nods to herself hardly listening to the captain. "Yes... I should probably begin prepping the science bay for our first specimens." She looks to the captain. "Sentient specimens work best; you can ask them questions as you probe them." She fixes the captain with a bright eyed gleeful stare; unconcerned by the statement she just made and the implications it could mean.

(Kiadan and Balus)
"Alright, Doctor, but I don't think we'll necessarily be taking any live sentients without their consent" The captain nods. "you are dismissed." He turns to Solaxis. "A pity. Well, once we've located any lifebearing planet, we're sure you will be of use."
(Balus)
Slycer snorts and wake up. "huh? what?"

"Yes yes, I'm sure that's fine," Kiadan agrees with a distracted nod. "Probably wouldn't hold up to the chemical bath anyway... should look to find mineral's capable of fashioning technology from."
Kiadan works for a bit at her pocket calculator "I theorize if we focus upon those planets the carbon foot print indicates a highly probably area for life forms."

Solaxis observes the curious creature that is Dr. Kiaden with a bemused grin as the captain begins looking like he wanted to space himself. "if you have need of me, captain, I'll be in the lounge area" he looked to Von to see if she'd rather accompany him or remain on the bridge, but he wanted to see what entertainment was available.

(Solaxis)
Solaxis spends the next 6 hours in the rec lounge as the various personel come by to watch some taped Octagon (a game not unlike Rugby) as well as the latest Klyfe Kracks Tailitsu action film. Later, you return to the command deck and receive the telemetry on the planet they've found on the edge of what is considered the life-sustaining belt of the system.
(Kiadan)
After having your staff run a battery of tests, you know the following things about the planet: -There is life and what you guess is heavy industry, with electrical power. -No signs of long-range communications or radio pollution -A high level of carbon monoxides, as well as carbon and sulfur dioxides in the atmosphere. -The tropical belt of the planet has an annual temperature that is just above freezing, which much of the planet being much colder.
(Kiadan and Solaxis - you may roll Anthropology, Archeology, or any engineering skills that you have)
(Balus)
After your rest, and a quick meal, workout and shower, you are given your next set of orders to report to the command deck.
