not having time to get himself strapped in, Solaxis grabbed the railing to hold on to in order to ride out the jump

"JUMP"
(Solaxis)
Your Bhlaze phsiology is not unaccustomed to FTL jumps through gravity wells, and your flight ability allows you to make it through the brief moment of spatial distortion without incident.
(Balus)
You, on the other hand, have never felt anything like this - you could swear that at one moment you had been stretched like a rubber band accross endless miles, and that your body just won't respond to anything. The second the jump ends, you find yourself hurtling through the corridor like a living missile, and you knock down at least 4 other soldiers before embedding yourself in the wall.

Balus felt the thud of hitting the wall, but with no harm done he quickly turned to check on his shipmates," Does anyone need me to call a medical team?"

Solaxis quickly recovered from the effects of the jump and checked on Von and the other Seeronians, realizing his paternal instincts towards his adopted race of 'kids' might be bordering on overprotective and was starting to annoy even him, but there was a strange attraction he found difficult to resist

Kiadan had opted to finish up a few more projects cutting the launch to FTL by mere seconds when she strapped herself into a small secured chair. Her curiosity for the light streaking by outside curious but her analytical mind already formulating and moving onto the next task.

(Balus)
Your crewmates shrug you off as the few of them that you hit only had bumps and bruises
(Kiadan)
You think your next objective should be to scan the new section of space you've entered to get a baseline comparison to the Seerionian system.
(Solaxis)
"jump complete" The Ship Operations officer calls out. "Give me status on all decks and quarters. Full inspection. And give me all telemetry. Prep for probe launches if necessary." The Captain orders. Valyr turns to Solaxis and Von. "Are you well?" He seems completely unaffected.

Kiadan turns looking at the techs still here. "Alright people," she says briskly. "We have work to accomplish. We need to start all the standard test; as well as any other ones we can think of. We're the brains of this operation and I'll be damned if we leave any details out." She points at several spots and begins working herself; her heart hammering a mile a minute at the possible scientific information she'll gain here.

As he recovered from the experience, Balus returned to the gym. He considered resuming his workout, but decided against it. He retrieved his things and headed back to his room, leaving the door open as he sat on the edge of the bed and began typing up a letter home to his family, filling it with details about what the jump had been like still fresh in his head.

Solaxis checks on Von and then nods an affirmative to Valyr "yes, thank you. is there any assistance we may render?"

Valyr nods. "Perhaps Ambassador you can confirm our position with our astronomical database?"
(Balus)
Slycer walks into your room. "Hey Pulpy, ready for another day of work?"
(Kiadan)
Information and telemetry starts pouring in (roll skill sets to make sense of it all).

Solaxis nods looking at the view screen and checking star patterns, then makes his way over to the nav computer to extract the spatial coordinates from the database. the ambassador turns "I'm sorry captain. I seem to be having trouble confirming the coordinates. I'm afraid I'm not completely familiar with your technology, but we are at stellar coordinates <xx.yy.zz>. Von, would you mind assisting me?" (pass navigation: space 1d100=23/55%) (fail computer operation 1d100=58/45%)

Balus looks up from his typing, " Hey Slyce, you look good as new. What do you mean, I only came off shift about an hour ago."

(Kiadan) Information and telemetry starts pouring in (roll skill sets to make sense of it all). Kiadan quickly flies over to the screen to look at the incoming data, her mind trying to analyze and categorize all the information coming through. 1d100=30, 1d100=79, 1d100=60, 1d100=31, 1d100=73, 1d100=62, 1d100=5, 1d100=3, 1d100=22, 1d100=67, 1d100=29, 1d100=65, 1d100=94((skills rolls from left to right: Astronomy & Navigation: – 69 Basic Math: – 98 Advanced Math: – 98 Computer Operation: – 79 Chemistry: 69 Xenology: 89 Computer Programming: 64 Biology: 69 Mechanical Engineering 49 Basic Electronics 59 Electrical Engineering 64 Alien Technology Mechanics: 64 Spacecraft Mechanics: 54))

(Solaxis)
"Of course ambassador" She scans over the screen. "Oh, I think I see the problem." She blushes, slightly embarrased. "Our star charting system uses our own sun as the origin of the galactic axis, instead of the galactic core which is what I think you are trying."
(Balus)
"yeah, well, rest while you can. I'm betting we'll be first detail up for any security runs." as he leaps up to the top bunk. "Sleep tight big boy."
(Kiadan)
Kiadan, using the telemetry you have a good idea of the make up of the current solar system you are in - about 250 light years away from Seeron. Judging by the age and type of the star, and what you can gather, you have precisely calculated the probable locations of any life-sustaining planets. You feel so impressed you should report directly to the captain.

Solaxis smiles at the captain "what would I do without her?"
