Sam can't hide her surprise when she hears this. "He did?" she asks Richie. She thinks to herself 'I'll be it was only Smith he wanted to save. He couldn't care less about my being captured by the enemy'
At the comment about the other Lt's, she chuckles "Can't argue with that point." She then falls quiet as she continues to look around them for signs of an ambush.

As with Sam, Mary keeps her eye out for friendly unfriendlies.

Lobo managed to circle unnoticed by the quartet. Once behind them, he could make out the CS markings stamped on the crate carried by the Minotaur. " I'm telling you Cari, I heard something."
" It's probably just Carson, or Richie made good time. Relax Alex." Cari replied.
" Maybe." Alex replied, still watching the bush.
Lobo's radio came to life, Shepherd's voice calling in his ear. " Lobo, where the heck are you?"

Mary rolls her eyes, and speaks in a full voice for the first time since she saw the D-bee. "You know what? Things were going my way until that Love-sick Section 8 decided to send you after me. And, you didn't rescue us. You yourself said we were your decoys. You only rescued us because it was convenient. Now, no-one's going to trust me to do my job. Couldn't even think to send humans. Gah!" And she walks ahead of Richie in a complete huff.

Sam sighs quietly at Mariana's outburst, but say nothing. She makes a note to have a chat with Mar later on when things are quiet. She says to Richie "If, in fact, Sheppard has done what you say, then I am grateful. At this point, he has shown me nothing but comtempt, so you will understand if I am surprised to hear he would do something like this."

Lobo calls over his radio to shep, "I'm here, I am behind our friendlies who are being escorted by a couple of D'Bee's. I am behind them now, if you come straight in to where we are now we will have them in a cross-fire." Lobo gives shep his current location. He then unslings his rifle and moves from cover to cover while following the party as quietly as he can.

" Cross fire? You idiot, they helped get the LT and Smith... Arrghh!" Shep looked at Ellie as he released his comm in frustration. " Come on, before he gets us all killed." He quickens his pace in the direction Lobo had gone.
Richie snarled as Marianna stormed past him before turning to Sam. " She has alot to learn about dealing with other races, but I suppose it is not her fault. Your goverment indotrinates you to hate all that is different. Fortunately, some withstand the brainwashing more than others. " His snarl turned to a smirk. " Otherwise you would be afraid of me and I would have had to leave you in that APC. Shepherd learned to survive the wilds, he had to adapt despite his training. You'd do well to learn from him and not your narrowminded companion."

Sam nods at Richie "She does have a lot to learn," she agrees quietly. "Unfortunately, some things can only be learned with time and experience." Sam falls silent for a minute before continuing "That's the second time I've heard that particular statement today." She adds casually, "My father was in the CS as well. Rose to the rank of Colonel. He taught me to treat all races as equals, and lead by example. I always thought of him as a type of amabassador. He got along with pretty much anyone he came into contact with. Of course," she says with a grin in her voice, "if anyone tries to kill me then all bets are off."

" That only stands to reason." Richie nodded." It sounds as though your father is a wise man." He deliberately slowed down to let Mar get ahead of them. " If it wouldn't cause more grief than it's worth, I'd let her go." He raised his trunk and gave a trumpet to get Marianna's attention before veering off.

Sam nods "He was." Her tone is gentle, something that would surprise the rest of the troops since they wouldn't have heard that side of her yet. She then falls quiet and makes sure Mariana noticed that they had changed directions before continuing.

Ellie quickens her pace to keep up with Shep. "Lobo hold your fire. Keep an eye, but do not fire unless fired upon." Ellie trys to speed up, but she falls behind Shap seeing as her trailblazing skills aren't as adapt as his.

Shepherd stepped into the open acrossed from Lobo where the quartet could see him, his weapon slung. " Hey , Cari, Alex, you found the goodies. any problems finding my squadmates.?"
" Nope. " Cari replied, keying her earmike. " Richie, eta?"
Richie replied. " 5 minutes, providing one of them behaves."
" gotcha." Cari replied.
Just as Richie had said, the entire group was gathered roughly five minutes later. Shep looked around at the others. " Everyone still in one peice?"
