Duke sputtered "how ya figure that? wait, three days? that's only a tenth o' my normal pay an' rate. ya want me ta risk my gear an' my neck on a CS insertion in Sung's territory for 200 lousy creds? no merc in his right mind would take that. y'all offered half earlier with a grand up front, which works out great for the CS, but don't do jack to protect my interests an' investments. y'all get frag'd an' without a contract, I got nothin' ta recoup any losses. CS ain't gonna reimburse me at my word. takin' a chance jus' by holdin' the contract."
"without confirmation, 'ow do I even know y'er even givin' me a legit' code? takin' Tyneer's word on all this bein' legit' an' if this deal goes tits up, anybody left can 'xpect a visit from me again real soon. as a matter o' fact, frag that. ain't even gonna go there. ain't trustin' nobody 'cause it's obvious where Tyneer's loyalty is. as fer me, this is business an' I got millions o' creds in resources tied up in this, so no contract? fine. the price jus' went up. whaddaya got to put up as a collateral deposit to cover my invesment o' resources?"

Rhys narrows his eyes suddenly at the change of pace in the conversation, face hidden from view by the helmet of his armor. "Tyneer's suggestion is reasonable,"

" Duke, they work for Sykes' group." Was all Joshua said in reply. " You know you'll get paid."
Everyone in the vehicle was familiar was familiar with the name, General Jamison Sykes, the head of CSOG. Not a name to be dropped lightly.

"Sykes?" Socrates asked, despite himself. Until now, he had all but decided the group bargaining with Duke were false CS Troopers. Maybe deserters at best. But such a potent name caused him to fumble... well for a second. It was their spokesman that said it.

Duke looked at Tyneer, then back to Sam and her crew as he started chewing the cigar "y'all get y'er gear. we're leavin" was all he said to Sam and her group completely dropping the subject of pay. then told Tyneer "ya coulda just said so up front" as he settled into the cockpit captain's chair and began a systems check.

Sam simply nods quietly and radios Shep. "We're heading out. You better get back inside unless you're planning on riding on the roof the whole way there."

" On my way, LT. " Shep radioed back. " We might have a problem, theirs a guy hiding around a corner paying way too much attention to us."
There was a thud outside, and then Shep opened the hatch. " Couldn't get a good look, LT. But whoever it is was watching this rig closely."

Sam simply points out to Duke "If I went around telling everyone we were a covert black ops group working undercover, we wouldn't exactly be black ops OR undercover, now would we? Besides, what did I have to do to get you to understand? Draw it in crayon?" Sam smirks and sighs when Shep returns. "If it's not one thing, it's another, thanks, we'll keep an eye out."

"If need be I can take a peek and see what this Watcher of ours wants El-Tee" *Rhys voice coldly calm, as he mentally notes Socrates reaction to the name that Tyneer dropped.

"Sorry, lieutenant, still not followin' ya. don't think we're on the same page 'cause nobody suggested anything o' the sort, but what's the situation outside?"

On being told they have someone else following them, Socrates, true to his training, reached out with his senses, sensing what he can sense... psychically.

Sam nods at Rhys and replies "Let's see what happens. If you can peek without being seen, do it. be careful though."

As Socrates reached out, he could indeed sense alot of attention on the Mountaineer from one location.

"There is only one place from which they watch us." Socrates says. "But the object of their attention could be anything."

Rhys about to exit the Mountaineer, "What's the location that they are watching from?"
