Book Two, Chapter Four: Tamer and Shadow

Meanwhile, the panther and wolf are at each others throats. With frenzied malice, the wolf tears the panther's throat out, killing it.

The two men cease fire for a moment as the Panther fades and disappears.

Then, more slowly, the wolf fades and disappears too. The two men freeze at the sight, then they both jump from their cover and shoot each other. As they fall, Tiger sprints forward. "Help the other one," she says to Kris as she presses against the shotgun wound in one man's side. He's hurt bad, and the pressure of her hands is all thats keeping him from losing way too much blood.

The other man took some gut shots from an assault rifle, and is no better off.

Khris drops his camoflague as he charges out at Tiger's order. As he knelt, his shotgun was replaced by the Colts which he holstered quickly. " Hold still." He said in a somewhat calm voice as tried to remember his first aid training.( roll 62/ 65 pass) He didn't have a med kit, so he pulled an unused cleaning rag from his utility belt and pressed it against the man's injuries to control the bleeding. He said aloud," Bosslady, I'm no field medic, and this guy needs a doc now. Mind telling me why we're interfering anyways?"

Before Dante gets a chance to respond, the woman and the falcon fade and disappear.

Meanwhile, Tiger and Kris continue to give the wounded men first aid. "Strongbow will be here any minute," Tiger replies to Kris' question. "If they live, we'll interrogate them."

Strongbow arrives after a minute and kneels next to Kris, "Keep the pressure up." She says. She touches the mans wounds and they close, the bleeding stops. "Ok, well, he may not make it. Stay with him, but he won't need pressure anymore." She whirls to Tiger's man and again heals by touch.

Both men remain unconscious. Tiger opens up a comm line with the rest of the team. "Dante, Steelfist, Jeckle and Ionic, get here as soon as you can. I've got prisoners and some intel to discuss." She gives out her GPS location.

[Dome]

Dante shrugs when the woman tries to circle him. He looks at her knife, and then at his sword and is about to say something when she fades away. He drops the wall and allows the sword to dissipate as well.

Hearing Tiger he says back to her, "I'm on my way. Anyone else need a ride?"

He summons his stallion. Petting it on the head, he says, "Mind if I climb on for a quick ride my new friend?"

Steelfist moves at full speed to the coordinates senses and sensors fully alert.

Khris released the presure at Strongbow's direction. He looked at the closed wounds. " I could have used your help in Miami." He muttered as he listened to something approaching," bosskitty, either they've got an armored division on this island, or that's your new friend crashing towards us."

Tiger nods, but she is looking at the wounded men and lost in thought. By the time everyone arrives, one of the wounded has died and Tiger and Pantera are digging a shallow grave to toss the weapons and body into.

As Tiger digs, to take her mind off of the task, she asks for everyone's intel reports. "What do you have for me? Anything to report?"

With his charge beyond his help now, Khris stepped close and put a hand on Tiger's shovel, " You go debrief the others, I'll take care of this."

Tiger simply nodded and turned to the others, when everyone was present she asked, "What did you find out?"

[Dome]

Dante gets to the clearing, and climbs down from his stallion and heads over, "is there anything I can do to help them? Maybe boost their healing?"

[Marcethus]

Steelfist salutes Tiger "Well from what I heard, Intell may have detected the fight between me and Snake woman. That or there was another fight. Some people apparently came in very late last night but were there for Roll Call. And the anti-aircraft team detected something flying low last night. It was dismissed as a bird."

Tiger nods at Steelfist's assessment and listens patiently as Ionic tells the team that he did hear the part about the battle too, and was pretty sure they were talking about us.

Strongbow says, "It can't hurt. He is took a shotgun round," as she leads Dante over to the wounded man. The guy is breathing normally, but has lost a lot of blood and is in a coma. "We will probably need to move him to the plane and make him comfortable, he will need time to recover. How are you planning on helping him?" Strongbow asks with curious professionalism. It's apparent she likes her role as a healer.

*Jeckle shrugs and reports 'i discovered very little actaullt. unless the rings themselves gives off energy .. or if i had the equipment to detect aura's via a camera .. i can't tell any difference from when they're in view or invisible or where ever it is they go .. sorry'

*holds up the laptop with the results of all the tests she had been doing and running. she wonders if she has to describe what any of them do

Tiger realizes Dante hasn't said what he found yet, but she doesn't feel any need to speak last, so she adds her report.

"Kris and I sensed two creatures, when we got here a wolf and a panther were fighting, as were the two men. The wolf killed the panther, and they both disappeared. The two men shot each other and it looks like we might have captured one alive. Not sure when he'll be able to talk. I didn't have much success getting information out of the troops, reluctant to talk to an officer I guess."

Once he had dug deep enough, Khris took the dead man by the wrists and dragged him into the hole. He gave the body a quick search for anything of interest before unloading the weapons and throwing them in alongside the body. He listened to the others, but stayed out of the conversation as he started to fill the whole back in.
