Book Two, Chapter Four: Tamer and Shadow

Tiger has spread about as much booze and money around the entertainment tent as she intended to, and so far has learned very little. She hopes Dante, Steelfist and Ionic have learned more.

She slips out of a side flap in the tent and makes her way into the jungle to find Kris. She doesn't know exactly where he is, but she has an idea.

Tiger walks right past Kris without seeing him. With the chameleon out there is no way for her to spot him.

When Dante makes his way back to his tent, his sixth sense informs him that there is someone inside his tent. He isn't sure if its an ambush or if someone is trying to spy on him, but someone is in there.

[dakota]

Khris let Tirger get passed him a little to watch to see if she'd been followed before he spoke lowly, " You looking for someone?" He let his camoflague drop, and smirked, " Or just a wee bit lost?"

[albatross]

Tiger pauses almost imperceptibly, but Kris can tell she was surprised. She turns with a smile. "You two are very well hidden. Even harder to find than before."

She moves closer to him, "Looking for you of course." She smells like Whiskey and lavender perfume - everyone in the entertainment tent ended up smelling like some kind of alcohol and some kind of perfume by the end of the night.

Since Khamai is out, Tiger summons Pantera. The big cat wanders off to set a watch.

Once a guard is set, Tiger relaxes a little. She looks towards the brilliant stars, crystal clear this far out to sea. "I forgot how the jungle could have so many noises, and still be quiet at the same time."

[Dome]

Dante realizing someone is in his tent, shrugs his shoulders and walks right up to the tent. Before he opens the flap he says, "I know your in there, whoever you are, and if you try anything I will skewer you before you can even think twice. So why don't you come on out in the open so that we don't have any misunderstandings."

He doesn't reach for any weapons, but is prepared to call force a TK wall, or his sword at the slightest sign of aggression.

[dakota]

" Relaxing, isn't it?" Khris agreed, sliding over to offer to share his seat. He appreciated the company, but remained professional," Manage to find anything out before they were all blitzed?"

[albatross]

"Not as much as I'd like," Tiger admitted as she sat down, leaning against Kris casually. "Hopefully Dante, Steelfist and Ionic got something more."

At that moment, Kris feels two powerful presences close by. Probably some more of the strange creatures.

[dakota]

Khris had to fight the urge to put his arm around Tiger before he sensed someone coming. He stiffened, speaking lowly" We have company coming. Two of them for sure. How do you want to play this?"

[albatross]

Tiger thinks for a second. "Lets check them out, but keep out of sight. We'll contact the others and let them know we are on recon, but it would take them too long to get here if things get ugly."

She whispers, "This time, we just get information."

She sends a text to Jeckle, Dante, Steelfist, Ionic and Strongbow: Kris and Tiger are on recon. Standby, no cavalry yet. Dante gets his message just after the falcon appears, though he might not really notice it until later.

Creeping quietly forward, the Captain and her tiger stay just a little bit away from Kris, allowing him to use his abilities without interference.

Before they see them, fierce growls can be heard and gunfire rings out in the night. Tiger opens up a comm line with the rest of the team, not bothering to check to see who is actually listening, she sends: Dante, Strongbow, get here quietly, she includes a GPS number, the rest stay together for now. It is at least ten minutes journey through the jungle to get to where Kris and Tiger are. Longer if done quietly.

When Kris are in sight, the first thing they can see is a wolf and a panther circling and striking in thick forest. While two men trade shots from behind the trees in the night.

Tiger halts to watch. Its impossible to see both of the men at once, as they creep around tree trunks and depressions in the ground occasionally stopping to shoot at where they think the other is. The two animals are at it tooth and claw, going for the throat, but not really caring if they get a piece of shoulder or a paw.

Upon recieving the Text message Steelfist heads out of the entertainment tent and walks the camp casually heading towards the perimeter nearest where the GPS signal for Tiger and Khris indicating ready to move out when given the order.

[shiivster]

*Jeckle sits up and blinks stupidly about the darkened airplane .. wondering what she was doing. then she recalls that she had finished taking her tools and gadgets apart and then meant only to rest her eyes.

how with something similar to 'crate face' .. she grabs and reads the text. she nods and then heads out of the plane to figure out where everyone else went to ..

[dakota]

Khris took his first opportunity to fade back into the jungle before drawing his Colts. Keeping Khamai close, he edged close enough to get a good position that provided him some cover. From his vantage point, he knew he could take both of them from his location fairly easy as his pistols were replaced with his new toy, the AA-12.

[albatross]

A falcon flies out the the tent flap, straight at Dante, claws extended.

The falcon flying at Dante's face bounces off the TK wall and wheels to get behind him. Out of the tent springs a woman with a knife. She is dressed all in black and wearing a hood and mask which hide her features.

[Dome]

Dante knowing he is covered by the wall in front of him waits for the falcon to close in and he calls his sword out pointed directly at the falcon. He says, "recall it, or watch it die."

[albatross]

The woman switches her knife to a reverse grip and begins to circle Dante, the falcon veers off but hovers close by as if it might strike at any moment. The two of them size Dante up, waiting to make their move.
