"Yep," Sasha says rather indifferently. "Mutants actually, I filed a police report after the incident and spoke with an officer. So the timing in my opinion is a tad suspicious," Sasha explains. "But I'm confident in my staff and my business being clean and legit."
Sasha escorts the woman into the bar with a smile. "Can I get you a soda while we work? Or would that constitute as bribing an officer of the law? I used to be a police officer, retired from California service a few years back."

" Mutants? I didn't know you could tell the difference just by looking, unless they're ...,well, freakish looking." The inspector said, seeming a little unnerved. " Yes, a soda would be fine, thank you. This is more of a cursory inspection, a sort of chance for me to get to know my juristiction since I just transferred here from Jacksonville. You're due for a regular visit anyways, so here I am." she realized her folly, and apologized," I'm Cassie Tabler. I find a personal touch makes these things less awkward."
A glance at the clock shows that it is quarter after already, and Nick, who lives at the bar nearly as much as Sasha does, is late for the first time since they opened for business.

"I'll get you a soda, do you have a particular choice?" she asks. "Well Cassie, I'm Sasha Jones, it's good to have you swinging by early, you'll get to meet my unofficial second in command here in a bit."
Sasha moves over behind the counter and pulls two pepsi's from the fridge. "I'll just be a second," Sasha explains reaching into her purse to pull out her cell phone. Giving it a quick dial she calls Nick's number. "Just be sleeping in," Sasha thinks. "Do not for the love of budda be sick with food poisoning or something."

" Whatever's wet." Cassie replied politely.
Nick's voicemail cut in, but before Sasha could leave a message, Jenny cut in," Hello?" she sounded scared," Sasha? sorry, I should have called you at home. *sobs* Nicky's in the hospital, I came home to get some of his stuff while he's in surgery. *sobs* Nick got jumped by a mugger on the walk home. "

"No, it's alright Jenny," Sasha said. "Which hospital is he at? Did he get a look at the attacker?" Sasha waits patiently for Jenny to respond.
"Ms. Tabler," Sasha says putting a finger to the mouth piece. "Do you mind if I take this? I might be leaving early. One of my employees was attacked last night."

" Go ahead, I'm just going to have a look around. " Cassie replied. " If you need to leave, I can come back another time."
Jenny was barely containing herself. " Nick acted like he knew the guy before he got trounced. I don't remember alot. He's at Mercy General. I should go, I want to be there when he comes out of surgery."

"Go ahead Jenny," Sasha says calmly over the phone. "Don't let Nick talk to any cops before I get there though, call me as soon as he's awake."
Turning back to Cassie Sasha smiles politely. "He's in surgery now, there's little I can do for him right now." Walking over with the sodas Sasha hands one to her. "Let's play it by ear. If I have to leave you can certainly schedule another time to come back, but lets hope we don't need to inconvenience each other, since you are here right now."

" Okay, I'll call." and Jenny was gone.
" Sounds fair." Cassie replied. She went about her inspectuion, and found only a few minor infractions, but nothing of concern. " Whoever tipped off the office was off the mark about your establishment. I'm not keen on pranks like this."

Sasha nodded looking over the list of infractions. "Mind if I make a copy of these so I may address my staff?" She asks indicating her office. "I'm just happy everything is fine, I'm going to hazard a guess and say an anonymous tip... but if you don't mind me asking. About what time of day did it come in?" Sasha asked with an arched eyebrow. "The time the two came in warning me about serving to mutants was about (insert time here)."

" It was," Cassie looked at the complaint, and scowled," and it was phoned in about twenty minutes later. I'd like to get my hands on those two for making me look stupid.I'm sorry I wated your time. I hope your bartender is okay. I'll just see myself out."

Sasha smiled mentally to herself. "Don't be sorry, it just lets me know that they're a little more serious then the small time hoods I would see when I was on the job." Sasha extends her hand to shake Cassie's hand. "Thank you for coming out none the less. You're welcome here at any time, Cassie."
If/when Cassie leaves she calls one of the other staff members telling them they'll need to cover Nick's morning shift if they can. With a frown Sasha goes over the list of people who would probably beat the tar out of her assistant. The jump in deductive logic is not what she wants to think about, but so far it points to either the destroyer... unlikely but not to be ruled out. Or the petty thugs trying to close her business. Either way it was a matter she'd be taking into her own hands.

Cassie shok the hand friendily," I may take you up on that." And she let herself out."
The other employee, Jeff, agreed without question to come in for the early shift, even offering that Lynn, another employee and his on again/off again girlfriend could come in as well to free up Sasha. He told her he/they would be there in twenty minutes.

When Jeff and Lynn come in Sasha nods at them and checks with Jenny to see how Nick was doing and to assure the girl that she and her staff will do all they can to help the two out.
Mentally cursing herself she wonders if letting Nick go home an hour early or even thirty minutes early would have been safer for the man or if it would have just been more time for the people to work him over.
Flipping through the phone book Sasha begins calling for places to hirer a bouncer for the door of the bar, loathe to do this but not willing to risk any of her customers or employees in being seriously injured do to negligence on her part.

Jenny offered little news, except Nick was soon due to go to recovery. She agreed to call as soon as they told her she could see him.
The bar opens, and Sasha notices the first customer of the day is a stranger. A solid looking latino that moved like he had at least some military training. On her monitor, he gave the impression he knew the hidden camera was there, because he looked into it as he sat down directly in front of it. Lynn got him his order, soda and then he spoke to her for a moment.
A knock came on the door. " boss?" Lyn asked as she opened it," sorry to disturb you, but there's a Avery Martinez out here that would like to speak to you. something to do with last night's dinner guests." Lynn sounded puzzled, since she had no clue what he was talking about. " He is kinda cute though. You want to see him?"

"Send him in, Lyn," Sasha says looking up from the books. She was mentally attempting to figure a means to help cover the extensive hospital bills that Nick was probably going to cover. She didn't want Jenny to worry about those bills if she could avoid it, hoping to save her and Nick money better used to take care of Nick.
"Mister Martinez," Sasha says standing up and indicating a chair. "Please have a seat, if you would please. What's this about you knowing about our dinner guests?"
