" You got it boss." Nick replied and approached the rowdy table. He said something just out of Sasha's range of hear. The rowdiness subsided, and Jones stood up and placed an arm around Nick's shoulders. Nick's expression turned to nervousness as Desolation finished whatever he had to say, and he quickly retreated to the bar. " They're gonna stay was while," he managed to get out as he was puoring another round.

"What did he say, Nicholas?" Sasha asked in a neutral tone of voice. She could see this escalating to the point where she was going to have to attempt to throw out the big man from the bar and that would be an impressive trick. It was times like this she wished she had developed a more useful power for combat situtations aside from her inability to die.

" Nothing, Boss." Nick replied, pulling a couple of drinks for the customers at the bar. He gave her a fake smile. " Don't worry about it, they'll be leaving shortly he said."

"Nick, you don't know me very well if you don't think I'm worried." She crossed her arms and looked at him. "I'm going to trust you Nick, but if there's any trouble get behind me. I've dealt with types like Jones before."

Nick shook his head." I'm serious, Sasha, it's not what you think. He.."
Jones interrupted Nick as he stood up and addressed the bar while his cohorts began to leave. " I hope you all appreciate my company, because this just became my drinking hole of choice." He dropped a couple of hundred dollar bills on the table, blew a kiss at Sasha and left.
Nick merely sighed. " and I liked that guy."

Sasha blinks looking between Jones and Nick. "In the quiet words of the Virgin Mary, come again, Nicholas?" Her face impassive as she stared at Nick from behind the bar. "I won't press you, Nick. But I want my co-workers to believe they can talk and trust me with any issues. I do have a degree in communications you know."

" Yeah I know. He wanted me to to this party tonight, at so club called the Xscape after we closed up. Said I could find out the real reason he left the pro curcuit." Nick said. " He creeps me out." He gave Sasha an odd look, " what did you think he said to me?"

"Figured he was going to rough you up some for laying down rules," Sasha said cleaning a glass. "Most powerful men don't like to be told what to do. He probably figured you were going to be the harder sell between you and I, since I'm a woman and not very intimidating," she said in a dispastionate voice. "Are you going to go?"

" Hell no, Jenny is home tonight. I was hoping to sneak out early to get in a little quality time." Nick replied. "And trust me, boss, you can be plenty intimidating. you just don't like to." He went to clean up after Desolation's party.

"I don't suppose leaving five minutes early will be bad," she says in a tone devoid of emotion as she looks at Nick with a serious expression on her face. "Just don't let the others know, alright?" she winks. "I've a rep to mantain."

" Five min...?" Nick gave her a shocked and questioning look when her words sunk in. He sighed as he returned with a tray of empty glasses. " You're all heart , boss." He deadpanned as he loaded the small dishwasher under the bar. " I'll remember that when you want me to work overtime."
The rest of the evening went quietly, and Sasha closed up without incident. the next morning when Sasha arrived to open up [ffing a bit to regain timeline cotinuity], an woman in a business suit was waiting by the door, watching the time. She was apparently waiting for Sasha.

Sasha chuckles to herself pushing Nicholas out of the bar thirty minutes early. "Say hello to Jen for me," she calls. "I apparently need to work on my jokes."
Walking to the front of the bar Sasha pays the woman no mind. "I'm afraid we don't open for another hour, Ma'am," Sasha said as she busied herself with the lock.

The woman flashed a health inspector identification badge. " I'm not here for a drink. I'm afraid a complaint has been filed against your establishment. I'll have to have a look around, and would appreciate your co-operation."

Sasha chuckles to herself and opens the door. "If somethings wrong I know exactly who I'm going to string up by their toes," Sasha thinks.
"Certainly ma'am, and I hope we find everything is in order. Though I must admit the timing of this I find a little suspicious. Just yesterday I had two gentleman here demanding I didn't allow certain folk to be served here."

" Really?" the inspector said, seeming a little surpriesd. " I thought we were finally getting past that foolishness." with clipboard in hand, she began her inspection. " what sort did they want you to keep out? Let me guess, the usual, Cuban immigrants?"
