Dyson, looking a bit nervous, but pleased replies " Thanks for the offer Ellie, sounds like you've got a pretty sweet ride coming, I wouldn't mind taking a look at that."
When Dyson enters the building with Ellie and Rhys and they head down stairs he'll wave a goodbye and head up stairs looking for a quiet empty room.

(Rhys, Dyson, Ellie - ) Shepherd meets you on the stairs, his uniform replaced by a set of well broken-in fatigues and a tank top. He has a stack of files in one hand and a can of beer in the other. He grins as he passes you on the double wide staircase, his cigar clenched in the corner of his mouth. " Settle in quick , kiddies. We won't be home long before they send us out in the field." He continues on up the stairs and towards the front door.
( Col Mendez, Snowball - ) Lt. Archer gets a puzzled look on his face. " Uh, right this way , sir" He motions inside. " I'm afraid there are very few officer's quarters left, you'll be bunking in what is supposed to be the executive officers quarters acrossed from mine upstairs, but Sergeant Trassk prefers to bunk with the squad downstairs"
He turns to Snowball. " You can go down with the rest of the squad. All squad members bunk together, despite their background" There is a hint of distaste in his voice.

i go to the assigned quarters and unpack my gear. i object read the bed and desk, then i fill out my daily report. when i'm done i send a message to the C.O. " Awaiting debrief and orders sir. signed Col. Mendez." when my duties are done, i shit, shower and shave. don my uniform and then proceed to the officers lounge. if there is a garrison press, i catch up on the latest events. if there are any archives, i read the past 3 months of press and reports i have clearence for.

(Snowball-) Shepherd meets Snowball in the doorway and steps aside, finishing his beer. " Don't mind him, probably a dog lover." He grins and continues outside, handing the stack of files to the Luietenant "Sorry there, LT, forgot these were in my duffel.". The rest of the conversation fades as you proceed inside.
(Col. Mendez)- *your object read reveals that the desk and bed were last used by an insecure and hat-filled woman, most likely the former squad leader or XO. A thin layer of dust tells you that the desk hasn't been used by anyone for a while. There is no dedicated Officer's club, as the bar in the rec center is open to all personnel. A quick read of the archives reveals that the base is nearly six months old and personnel have a fairly high attrition rate, judging by the KIA section and its frequent updates*
Another soldier, a captain you notice by his insignia, snaps a brief salute and takes a seat acrossed from you. " Are you that new sci officer that third squad just got?"
(Rhys, Ellie-) Mikey laughs from the bottom of the stairs as he heads up. He looks Rhys right in the eyes." You sure got a hate on for Shep. I'd get over it if I was you, he's the only one on this squad with any field time, besides me." He winks at Ellie with a smirk and continues upstairs.
(Dyson-) Upstairs, you find both officer quarters are occupied (one by Archer, the other claimed by Mendez) and that the squad's tactical room is a joke, consisting of a few aerial maps, a pair of large whiteboards, a battered desk and 16 chairs facing front (broken into two rows of eight, with an aisle down the middle).

Ellie being accustom to the "eyes of men" isn't bother by the gesture, but merely accepts it as is. A wink and nothing more. After the thought passes she continues her seach for the perfect room.

( Mendez)- The young captain grins and offers a hand. " I'm Dr. ... err, Captain Eric Younger. I'm the base medical officer. Nice to meet you , sir. I just assumed you were attached to third squad since you arrived with them. You wouldn't be the first RSCG member attached to one of the squads."
(Rhys & Ellie)- Mikey shakes his head and you overhear his mumblings " Great, now we've got two know-it-alls in charge for Shep to babysit. Bet at least one of 'em doesn't see the weekend."
( OOC: if you want a room away from Shepherd, pick a room on the first or second subfloor. All rooms ( four per floor) are the same... double bed, desk, closent, just the basics.)

Ellie find a room away from everyone.. guessing that would be on the 2nd sub floor considering it sucks climbing down one set of stairs while drunk, two would be twice as bad. She unpacks her things, changes into civillian clothes, and begins wandering around the base.

shakes hand, " nice to meet you doc. dont care what i'm doing as long as i get to it soon. i hate down time. i can get bored to tears sitting in a garrisson with nothing to do. i requested field work, cause i have never been outside of chi-town. i once met a rscg officer out of lone star, at a conference and the stories he told me, instilled a sense of wonderlust. guess i'm excited & ready to study and learn about new things, peoples, and places out in the great wide world of earth." , takes a sip of coffee, " what do you know about our C.O.?"
