Shepherd crawls past Dyson and heads towards the creek bed in a rushed crouch. " Just keep thinking that, O'Neill. If you'd obeyed his orders instead of arguing, he wouldn't have gotten pissed at you and taken his helmet off in the first place." He takes a position behind a boulder on the edge of the creek bed with his C-14. " C'mon who's next?"

Mikey, planted behind a fallen tree, stood up and stopped firing as the flames began to creep up the foot of the hill. " Uh, is it just me, or are they not even coming close to us?"

OOC Stuff:

In Dyson's judgment how far away is the nearest enemy ( C-27 only has a 1600' range) and would plasma weaponry be likely to start fire if I fired into the forest canopy on the part of the hill that I can hit, assuming it is in the same condition as the forest around us.

Yes it would start a fire, and some of the blasts are within the range.

It could be made to move up the hill, but it would take quite a while to reach the positions in the hills and they would have plenty of time to reposition.



Guys, you don't have to rely on me ( and SEn in some cases) to OK everything you do. Ab lib it a bit, if you go over the top, I'll let you know or alter the post to tone it down ( Have to love those god... er, I mean mod powers I have as GM ;D )

Dyson follows Shep as soon as he takes position behind the boulder. zig-zagging at random Dyson runs across the river bed and as Shep did takes cover behind a boulder which is 8' to the right of the Sgt..

Holding his breath, Dyson raises his C-27 over the top of the boulder and takes aim at the nearest hostile position. Sighting down the barrel, then switching to the scope for the final adjustments, Dyson breathes out and squeezes the trigger in the same moment * Not my really my breath, far more real and I relea-stop It! Fight!*.

Roll to hit= 13 +3 aimed +1 for scope=17

Damage= 25 MDC

Dysons shot is answered with an inhuman cry up the hill and several laser blasts strike the rock he is hiding behind and blowing chunks from it.

Mikey dives back to cover and and opens up wildly again. " Well, they hadn't been coming close. Nice job Dyson." He turns and gives a thumbs up as he fires on the hill.

Shep takes a few potshots as he listens to the Colonel's idea. " Mikey, conserve your ammo, dammit. Sir, I don't think thats such a good idea. We see eight, mebbe seven if Wong got lucky, but how many are out there not firing on us. They could be flanking us right now and we wouldn't know it. But you're right they are up to something. Probably best to find a more defendible position, not so out in the open. But it's you're call now, " he raises his voice so Rhys can hear him," unlike some of you're troops. Rhys targets the bogey nearest him with his CP-50 if one is in the 2000ft range of it. Once he targets he fires a burst

After firing his shot he looks to the flank to see if any bogey's are attempting that route. (what are the current lighting conditions?) He pointedly ignores Shep's comment atm focusing on the job at hand.

Mendez extends the rifle bipod targets the nearest enemy's head takes careful aim and fires

roll to hit =16 +3 scope +1 multi optic eye +2 sniper skill +1 rifle bipod= 23

dont know if this rule applies but if head shots are double damage then the damage was 20 MDC

More screams and anger induced fire returns from the hill, one of which actually grazes Ellie's armor ( to hit = 14, 2d6 dmg = 3, lucky dice generally hate me). Mikey slides next to Snowball and grabs the luietenant's corpse under the arm, glancing at the cat. " Hey, you big furball, come on, dasn't keep the colonel waiting." He unleashes a light burst and backs down into the creek bed.

" Okay, mind telling me where I'm sposed to be taking them? You still haven't said your intentions, the chopper or the original mission." Shepherd gives the Colonel an odd look behind his faceshield as he flinches at a nearby strike. He picks up a blown off fragment of rock, and tosses it at Rhys, striking his backplate. " Don't get anyone else killed while I'm gone, kid. "

They do if you made the called shot, which you did not declare.

I think this is a good place to pretty well end this thread. I'll be starting two new ones (one for each group) shortly, as soon as everyone responds and who is in each one will be posted in the chapter title. Everything is going well so far in my opinion, so let's keep it rolling.

Everything becomes reality again as the shot grazes Ellies armor. She decided to let the flame approach the enemy on its own. The time was to precious now. She continues to lay down cover fire as everyone begins to move out.

Ellie grabs the mini PC "Yes Sir" she replys as she begins to bring up their pictures.

OOC: Remote view (10 isp per pilot), How many pilots? And are they alive?

Snowball hands off Archer to Mikey and then stares at the ground for a moment in a trance. He then gets behind Shep and, weapon at the ready, waits for Shep to move out.
