Calvin smiles at Sylwia. "Backup is en route. Tapping back on his bandaidio he confirms. "Copy that Beth, will keep you updated."
Calvin watches the drone stop and lower altitude, focusing on the junkyard. "It doesn't seem interested in us..." Calvin attempts to note any markings the drone might have that may identify it, using his extraordinary vision (15 times normal human eyesight).
Calvin nods. "Yeah, that seems likely. Or telekinesis, maybe, the way he shredded that drone."
He will radio back an update to Beth. "Beth, Paladin. The bearded gentlemen has gone inside, and the remaining drone is watching the junkyard. it either saw us and doesn't care, or didn't see us."
If he sees any markings on the drone, he will say, "The drone is marked, it has [Identifying numbers/logo] on it - can you tell who the owner is?"

The drone did indeed have markings on it. Calvin could clearly make out the where D.O.T. was painted on top beneath the city logo as it focused on the junkyard.
Beth came across the channel, "Umm, have either of you spotted the pilots? Unless it's military grade, odds are the operator is close by. Likely line of sight."

Once everyone was loaded up, the team had to take both HSUV and they were on the way. They drove a couple blocks before lifting off in a less conspicuous area.
(Lead HSUV. Jason, Alice and Tom)
With Jason at the wheel, he looked at Tom in the rear view mirror, "Umm, Tom, what's your plan if this guy's magnetic powers can shut down your titan form? And before you get mad at me for asking again, yes, I'm worried there's enough metal in my back for him to mess with."
At the same time, his hand slid across the seat to to take Alice's hand in his, "You know, one of these could add a whole new dimension to going parking?" He grinned, but they had been together long enough for Alice to recognize he was trying to cover up. His eyes gave away he was scared
(Trailing HSUV. Avi and Isamu)
"We could have piled in with the others, but then there was no room for the others on the way back." Avi explained. "So, tell me the truth, this whole coming home was Ashley's idea, wasn't it? You don't exactly seem too pleased about moving or especially coming with us."

Calvin taps his bandaidio, "I haven't seen them, but I'll do a sweep and see if I can spot a trailer or shed they might be holed up in." He turns to Sylwia, "Keep your eyes on that junkyard... I'll be right back."
Calvin flies up and around, looking for a trailer, van, or rooftop shed, or just an operator or two lingering somewhere.

Isamu looks out the window as they drive. Not speaking much until Avi asks him the question. He looks down at his knuckles and then back out the window before answering, "it was something we discussed at great length before returning. I did want to return, everyone of you on the team is like family to me, as you all are to Ashley as well," he says pausing briefly before continuing.
"I suppose you could say I am nervous to be back. After leaving the group and being away for so long, returning and stepping right back into the fray as it were. We hardly stepped through the door and there is a scramble to hunt down a new nemesis. I do not know where we stand with the group, or even recognize some of the people on the team. I am sure since we have been gone the team dynamic has changed and the rhythm is different, I am nervous my presence could disrupt that, distract from the mission," he says solemnly and looks over at Avi before looking back out the windshield.
"That is not even mentioning my own distraction, I am a father now, my entire world is different than it once was. Is it still fair of me to risk my life when there is someone at home depending on me? What if my mind drifts to thoughts like that out in the field and someone is injured because of me," he asks not really expecting an answer. "So it is not that I am not pleased, I am just concerned that we have made the right decision for ourselves, for Himari, for the team."

Tom pondered the question for a moment. "Seriously? Well, I'll probably try to to magnetically throw something heavy at him? Or you know, scream for help and be a big distraction? But I honestly don't think it's going to come to that." He shrugged.

Sylwia listens to her more experienced companion, "Very well I will do so." She then does as told and does not follow Calvin's flight path but focuses solely on the junkyard to see what happens.

Alice squeezes Jason's hand in an attempt to covertly comfort his nerves. Truth was, she was a bit nervous as well. "I hope not." Alice says quietly to Tom as they drive to their destination.

It took a bit of looking, but Calvin found the operators. Two men sat on the tailgate of police Explorer a half block away. They had not noticed Cal, until there was a loud crash behind him and the operator clearly had issues with his controller. When one did look up, they reacted quickly, using their SUV as weapons were drawn., "Hold it right there, buddy." One of them warned.
As Sylwia watches, she notices something odd. From opposite sides of the yard, two garbage can lids begin to fly up in the air. The drone, clearly focused on the building, did not seem to take notice as the lids positioned themselves to either side, then crashed together like a pair of giant cymbals, the drone crushed in between before all of it fell from the sky.

"Nothing to be nervous about with us, Isamu. You have to put the little one and Ashley first, but you use your powers so naturally that if it comes down to it, I'm not worried about your mind wandering. Now if Ash was here , it would be a different story because she can get out of control so easily when she transforms and you'd have to keep her safe. With us, we actually needed you guys back with Allison, Trevor and Gabe leaving thinning our numbers. So we're glad to see you for more than one reason. And since Sierra is not comfortable leaving the house, little Himari has one hell of a nanny to watch him for you."
The GPS chirped they were getting close.

"Tom, if you start screamng as a distraction, I'm pretty sure it will work better on us than this Lodestone guy. Me at least, " Jason chuckled, seemingly put at ease by Alice's comforting touch. "I never asked before Tom, but can you detect the metal they put in me? Or I guess the better question is could you use your powers on me! If need be of course." He looked back
The GPS chimed, and as she looked, Alice could see Sylwia hovering off to their right.

Calvin looks at the operators, their guns drawn, with a modicum of boredom. He taps his bandaidio.
"Beth, I've got the operators n my line of sight. They have extremely poor judgment."
Looking down at them but hovering in place, Calvin folds his arms.

"I'm Paladin. I get it, I'm new in town. But I'm with the Sentinels of Liberty and Justice. That's right - you're drawing down on a peace officer. So knock it off and tell me why you're spying on the junkyard guy."

Tom gave a very pained grin at Jason's question. "The short answer is yes. The long answer is really inappropriate so I won't mention it here because I'm afraid Alice and/or you would kill me."

Sylwia was about to speak up when she saw the actions and debated for a second. Toggling the Bandaido "I just saw too lids for those things you put refuse in come up and crush a drone."

Isamu listens quietly taking in what Avi said. He nods. "I will do my best to remain focused. It is good to be back, good to see everyone again." As they approach he looks out the window to try and appraise what is waiting for them. He has to take a moment and remind himself he isn't in charge anymore. Just one of the team.
When they arrive he gets out and follows along with Avi waiting to be given orders.

Alice isn't surprised to hear Tom could manipulate the metal in Jason's spine, but doesn't press Tom for details, figuring she didn't want to know that badly. She glances outside and sees Syl hovering to their right and remarks to the others "I think we're close. Syl is there."

The two officers slowly lowered their weapons, but kept an eye on Paladin as he identified himself. One of them finally spoke up, "That drone we just lost is police property. We could charge you with obstructing an investigation if it crashed because of you."
The second man pulled a necklace out to reveal a Miami-Dade Police Department shield, "Get down here before that crazy bastard see you and throws something at you."

Sylwia saw the lids hang in place after their crunch, then fell to earth following the drone parts. There were no signs she had been seen, but there was no indication the drone was spotted either before it was swatted.
Jason landed the HSUV after going very quiet with Tom's answer. Avi parked next to them and they all got out. "Syl, come down, no sense making yourself a target. Cal, we're on site." Jason said over his bandadio.
Avi spoke up, "so, do we have a plan besides let Tom and Isamu knock this guy flat when he won't be reasonable and turn him over to the cops?" He looked at Alice.
Jason snickered "I like this plan."

Paladin taps his bandaidio and radios Beth. "I have two shields here... the drone's theirs. Heading back to the junkyard."
He looks at the two obvious rookies.
"I said I work for SLJ... not you. You don't get to tell me what to do. Now clear the area before you get someone killed. If you wanna go back to your precinct and file charges, go ahead."
With that, he flies back to Sylwia's position at the Junkyard.
"Anything happen?"
