Chapter 77: Comings and Goings

"I will do best. I will likely need to figure out what to do if they do come near me as I need method to deal if they be here right?" Sylwia asks at which point using her power she makes a little light show that may help appease the things.

Alice nods at Tom. "That's about right. He's insane and dangerous. He should be in a cell for the rest of his life." Alice just nods at Beth. "If you need help, let me know." She doesn't respond to the apology and leaves the room, heading down to the kitchen.

[Dome]

Isamu chuckles, "if I remember correctly they were about to lose it with you too." He nuzzles the baby to keep her smiling then he turns back to Ashley, "while, it was beautiful there and nice an peaceful when you and your family were not fighting, you know, the times when you were all giving each other the silent treatment, it is probably best to keep Hawaii as a vacation destination than our permanent lodging. Besides, that is not our home, despite the new faces, this is."

"He has a friend in the mayor too apparently." Beth said with a bit of a giddy tone after the kiss broke. "I did some digging, and surveillance shows the Mayor leaving the courthouse office right after the releaseof this Wraith jerk. From his wrap sheet he should have been in Gramercy or Devil's Ridge permanently, not locally. And Lodestone isn't much better, they just haven't pinned anything that will stick to magnet man. Sorry, bad pun." She grinned

"That's all anyone can ask for." Avi grinned, "Now, on a different subject, I know your powers, but does it make you weak against dark energies? The guy that showed up today has shadow powers, so he's the opposite of you with a twist. Light doesn't hurt him. Can your powers do the same for you against Wraith or do we need to protect you from him?"

Ashley shrugged with an impish grin. "Maybe." She chuckled and then fuss Himari a bit "I guess. Maybe Skype is my best bet to keep in touch with Mom, preferably when Dad is working." She curled her nose. "Uh oh."

"Hmm - that is interesting. Perhaps we should leak that detail to the press? See what happens?" Tom feigned hurt. "As someone who is magnetic, I'm hurt, deeply hurt by your words." He chuckled. "OK, so seriously, what's our next move?"

Sylwia stops and thinks, "I know not if it would hurt more or not. I know shadows do hurt more. But I also have a energy thing that protects me I can put up if needed. It is how I can hold stuff when I am in my light form." She says standing up and transforming to light to emphasise first by trying to grab something nearby and failing and then activating the forcefield to show the difference.

Figuring Jason needed some time to calm down, Alice decides to get some rare alone time and heads to her room, hoping to think of a plan of what to do next.

[dakota]

"Oh please, Don't start sobbing or that cute tin butt of yours might rust from the tears." Beth teased as she folded her arms. "I suppose I could reach out to some of my old contacts and stir the pot a little for Wraith a little, but that could backfire and fire this nutsack up at the wrong people. Last thing I want to hear is dead reporters or an agency blown off the map. I'm not sure how we go about this." Beth shrugged.

As Alice opened the door, to her surprise, Jason had beat her back their room. He was lying on the bed, Face buried in his pillow and his hands over his head. If he heard her come in, he did not react.

Avi listened, clearly thinking as she spoke, "Okay, so you need to be careful around him unless your shield is up. Last thing we need is for Wraith to blind side our heavy hitter with a cheap shot. Luckily his hatred for Jason should distract him enough that you will have time to react and get your shields up when we cross paths with him again."

Tom rubbed his chin. "Yeah, you're right. We should probably talk to the others. Granted, most of them will be busy trying to keep Jason from going on some crazy solo action that we would later have to rescue him from." Tom sighed. "Is it wrong to admit that all this alphabet soup stuff of agencies, secret groups and everything, gets really tiring after not too long? I mean, what, are we going to find some secret society of Reagan-era superhumans that got put in stasis and pop out because it's 2020 and they fully expected to be the saviors of a nuclear apocalypse?"

[Dome]

"Yes that maybe a good idea," he says in answer then Isamu looks at Ashley as she curls her nose, "what is it," he asks her looking around to see if it is something she saw.

"I understand and will make sure it is fine." Sylwia responds. "I will just make sure any time that combat be near to try and have it up as that should keep us safe. And not sure I am heavy hitter just had one lucky thing that resulted in bad person dying and that is my fault." She hangs her head after still feeling bad about that incident.

[Mierin]

Alice knocks on the door to let Jason know she was there. "You doing ok?" she asks him gently.

[dakota]

Jason rolled over, and quickly put on a brave face as he saw Alice, "Hey. I figured you were in briefing with Mac by now, or got tangled up with Ashley and Himmy." He said as he sat up. "Sorry, I thought coming back here and unwinding a bit might keep me from causing any crap with the others. Seeing Wraith today stirred things up, and if someone hadn't been there with me,...," he shrugged as he trailed off and looked at Alice before his shoulders slumped, "I'd be locked up awaiting trial."

The odour assaulted Isamu's nose and he instantly knew what Ashley meant. Little Himari squirmed and giggled as he continued to fill his diaper before flapping his arms.

Ashley giggled, "I think he's enjoying making a mess for you, my love. Or he's at least could control his excitement to have you home." She laughed again, "come on, I'll help you, and you can fill me in on what happened.

"You really think Jason will try something stupid like that?" Beth asked, arching a brow, " I caught a glimpse of him on the monitors. Tom, he looked more shaken than vindictive. Either way, we both know if Wraith sought you guys out today or it was just a coincidence he lands at that junkyard the same time you did, we both know the team will have to face him at some point. Better to prepare and have a game plan for that, probably one for this Lodestone character too. More I hear about him, the less likely I think things will end well with him around."

She pressed her finger to Tom's lip to hush him, "No talk about surprises like that. We both know it's liable to happen if you do. Besides, that sounds like something from Gaiman or one of the nutjobs that wrote the books from your classes."

Avi put his arm around Sylwia's shoulders, "Don't beat yourself up over that. Rags was an evil old man, and had to be stopped. If you hadn't stopped him when you did, the rest of us might not be here now." He pointed out. "So stop it."

"Do I think Jason might try something reckless? Let me see?" Tom made a point of rubbing his chin. "Yes. yes I do. But if you're saying he's shaken? I'll keep that in mind. And it's probably more like Ostrander, or Moore. But we should probably try to come up with a plan." He sighed. "Let's do some research!"

[Dome]

Isamu grimaces as the smell assaults him. Holding Himari at arms length and giving her a raised eyebrow before making a funny face at her. Something the others would have never seen him do before.

"Yes she needs a cleaning it seems. Which way to our room," he asks unsure if they had the same rooms as before or something different.

As they walk he tells her about what happened from his perspective as he waited outside and about Wraith being freed and driving by to see whoever they were after.

Getting to where they could change Himari, he holds her while Ashley prepares an area to change the baby then lays her down and starts the process.
