Issue 25C: Speed Dating (Blink, Spider-Man, Tally)

"K, bill something capable of identity hiding, but civilian looking enough that I won't look like 'the Thong and Blanket types' as Manchester Black would call it. if you can. Thanks a bunch." she said to bill via the card. she did wonder if the card could look like a Credit or bank card.

It was time to go on the prowl but Wasp and Blink might need back up. The idea of calling in reserve avengers did cross her mind. Another idea did as well and it made a ton of sense..

"Do we have anyone on the avengers reserve roster that might know that Maggia well, Wasp? I could use a direction to start our search." Blink asked considering where to look for thugs. The maggia no doubt gave up on the cliched Italian gentlemen clubs and obvious criminal hang outs. The shows always had them owning various less than family friendly businesses. That was one place to start.

"Yes now. This is serious." Once Felicia comes outside to talk to him, Spider-Man starts off by saying "So, stolen any diamonds lately?"

Janet shook her head. "on the Reserve roster? No. But quite a few members of our West Coast division might know...."

Felecia rolled her eyes. "You're not here to try and bring me in, are you Spider?" She grinned and stroked Spider-Man's chin with her fingernail. "After all our history? And for what? Some diamonds? Can't we work something out?"

"We have a west coast division? and here I'm suffering all this winter?" she joked, "Lets call them..We need to get a civilian friendly looking outfit we can fight in and cover up in fast if needed. While we do that we can get the West coast online and ask them what the Magia is up to if anything. I may have a wardrobe idea..its a little street level..but should work for me." the mutant gave a half grin-smile not unlike a certain caped crusader would have.

"I don't think Sabretooth had 'bringing you in' in mind. I stopped him already today, I don't need a round two. He says you cut him out of the deal and he wants your head. I'm here to figure out a way to keep you alive and also not have me end up at Sabretooth chow."

Wasp returned the grin. "Street level? Why would you want to be grungy when you can look fabulous? The entire point of being a superhero is to look good and daring and dashing!"

"Then why don't you get some superfriends and go put him in jail?" Felicia hissed back. "By the way, congratulations, Spider. I always knew you were destined for the big time."

Spider-Man looks past Felicia to speak to her 'date'. "Sorry sir, I need to borrow your girlfriend for a second. Cool hair, by the way!" Spider-Man closes the door behind her and says "Do you think he's not going to get out? That Magneto won't destroy whatever prison he's in to free him? That some teleporting dude won't just hop in and grab him out? He's coming for your blood, Felicia. And the only way to stop him is for you to return what you stole or pay him! I don't want you to end up hurt and I can't keep fighting a guy who can just shrug off what I throw at him or heal in 10 minutes and come at me again. Oh, and thanks. The Avengers are pretty cool. No pay though."

"You have a point..How about I meet you halfway? A dashing and fabulous civilian looking get up then. So we don't get noticed too quickly. I can were something dashing underneath." Blink grins pleased with the offer. So long as the look didn't look too heroic and make her stand out too much. After all civilians and heroes were like oil and water.

"Wait, the Avengers aren't paying you? Tony Stark needed the money for a gold Ferrari?" Felicia responded. "Look, Spider, the concern is cute, but you have to have a better idea than that, don't you?" Her voice lowered, her fingertips dancing at the edge of your chest. Somehow, Peter could feel Mary Jane's eyes burning onto Felicia...and then him.

"I think that could work." Janet smiled as the limo pulled into the mansion. Bill Foster met them. "Sorry, it's been a bit of a busy night around town."

"I can imagine. Pretty sure I was no help. I'm going to call the west coast team and check on the maggia there. I have a suspicion but want to be sure before I consider it. We may not be after the Maggia..the diamonds were stolen from them. that has me thinking." she said, "So far its been all me. How were things here?" she asked. The idea was pretty straight forward to her. if they were stolen from than maggia then who ever was taking them was just as important. It could be nothing but better to be safe than sorry. so a few calls would be made.

The Maggia was an international crime cartel so money was important, but what if they needed the diamonds for other reasons. Diamonds had a variety of uses...one being a good way to transfer wealth without currency, certain machines used them among others.1d20·1d20·1d100

Bill Foster responded. "Spidey, Hawkeye and Cap are pursing the diamond heist angle. Meanwhile we got word an attempted hit on Osborn got beat back by Ghost Sabre."

"Sounds like one of the two definitely fits the maggia angle. Osborn doesn't seem connected. I'll have to check if Osborn has any connection to the maggia, good or bad. He does have the money to pay Blackcat and Sabretooth. The attempt on his life may be distraction or retaliation for something. If anything we need to know if if he is involved or not. He does fit the bill as someone who could use the diamonds mechanically for a lot of machines. Lets hope spidey can get something from Blackcat..I'd like to have talked to her too but as fate would have it Spidey has a better relationship to her." Blink looked grim hoping Osborn was not a mastermind in this. A person like him was tough to take down and one not accuse lightly.

This inquiry would need to be subtle. The attempt on his life gave the avenger a public angle to get in contact with him so that was covered. As for the how to investigate with out lawsuits or getting him too upset that would be the trick. Perhaps the west Coast team had something.

"Then we call the west coast. I'll have to ask about Osborn's east and west coast assets as well. Another to ask might be Stark or Pepper since they probably keeps tabs on potential competition out of habit. They may not be connected and we need to confirm that before moving in this investigation. Unless you two have better plan I would suggest we contact the west coast team." she nodded to Janet and Bill, "The west coast also has sun..I could use some that." Blink grinned as added the bit about needing sun as a joke.

Jokes aside this investigation was tough. Her instinct was to act and plan aggressively, impulsively. Over time she was learning patience..Sabretooth would call it growing up. If he were here He'd be proud probably and remind her in his old age. she thought with an inward grin.1d20·1d20·1d100

I could be relaxing, watching Tony drive that new gold Ferrari around but you're making things difficult for your ol' Spider-Friend. Did you have a better idea for keeping Sabretooth off your back? Also, you know you can't keep those diamonds, right? It's one thing when I don't know about it, but leaving a loose end like Sabretooth to rat you out?"

Foster nodded at Blink's comments. "In the morning -you've had a rough night and I want to check how that Pym Particle graft is holding. Doctor's orders."

Felicia rolled her eyes. "You used to be so much more fun, Spider. Fine, I'll give you back the jewels and you can bring them to the cops, OK?"

"I've had worse...and survived. If it makes you feel better I'll play nice. Just tell me when the dianmonds get recovered. I need to see some samples. So we need a look at them before they get returned. Find out if they were for Sale or use as part of a machine. Especially after Zemo tried to dig out that Terminex bot in the savage land. I can see the Magia wanting to one up Zemo and dig something up of use." she looked calm but felt there more to be done than just sitting around.

She went along for it but had no intentions fully resting. She was going to have to do research..time to hone her hero and villian lore once Bill checked her stitches.1d20·1d20·1d100
