Hawkeye grinned. "I can't believe this is happening." He took pictures with his cellphone. "Stark's gonna be sorry he missed this."
"Try not to enjoy yourself too much, Clint." Captain America retorted.
They were all walking down the street in civilian attire: Tally and Blink (wearing borrowed image inducers to disguise their unusual features in order to blend in), Spider-Man with his wife MJ, Clint, and leading the pack, practically dragging Steve Rogers was Janet Van Dyne, visiting from the Avengers: Europe franchise.
"Come on, Steve, it'll be fun."
"I really don't think this is necessary." The Wasp blinked. "Right...when was the last time you were on a date? And who was president then?" Cap's eyes narrowed. MJ giggled slightly.
The team finally arrived at the comfortable bar and grill. The message was written in chalk on the stand-up outside.
"Speed Dating Session 2nite!"

"I'm with Steve on this. I be could be studying up on the enemy." she shrugged "That and the last time I dated...well I'm still not ready to tell anyone about it. as for stark..he's probably having a good laugh at our expense." she had secretly kept a brace of pins in her just in case and the one given to her by Cannonball.
'perhaps I should call him...cannonball might need help on some sort of mission. Even if that psycho...' she stopped her thought, 'Polaris is just worried. not a psychotic' she reminded herself and that much they had in common. Right now Sabertooth was out there saving the universe again. Right about now she missed being an exile.

Peter was enjoying getting some time with MJ. And better yet, it was with the rest of his Avengers buddies. AND they weren't smashing anyone's head in. "Just promise me you won't leave me for another handsome photographer during this speed dating thing, MJ. I couldn't live with myself and I would never live it down from this lot." Peter walks hand in hand with her, enjoying the New York weather. "Steve! Lighten up! It'll be good for you! There might even be a nice normal girl here who doesn't want world domination."

Tally is in a rock and a hard place as she only went to bars when x-eee took her and was able to waive the fact that she was not 21. She is even more confounded by the sign, "What is speed dating?" Not even sure exactly what this is as a concept.

Jan smiles and reassures Peter. "Don't worry, Mr. Parker; Only Mr. Rogers is signed up for the speed dating." The Wasp turns towards the bookish African-American woman tending the sign up table. "Darcy! Good to see you!"
The woman smiled and stood up to hug Van Dyne. "Janet dear! It's been forever! I already have your set up ready! There's a viewing booth just for you and your friends in the pool hall! And you, Steve, right?" Darcy pinned a camera to the lapel of Rogers' jacket. "A button cam so your friends can keep track."
Captain American rolled his eyes. "I have no idea how I let you talk me into this."
"Guess there are some ambushes you can't see." Janet smirked as she took the others to the pool hall where a series of booths were created. Clint opened a bag of potato chips. "And now to watch..."
Mary Jane tugged on Peter's arm. "Tiger, I think everyone is having a bit too much fun at the big guy's expense...but...I'm kind of curious what kind of train wreck this is going to be."

"I am too, MJ" Clarica added, "I met these people in a room like this. Kinda funny story.." the mutant grinned speaking to MJ trying to avoid her whole negative zone encounter.
"Steve you'll do fine..you have to do a helluva lot better than I did. This just a date not a long term relationship thing. Besides you might meet our next recruit in there. it how you guys met me. We will be right out here if you need us." she encouraged him.

"Phew. I thought that someone else might hit the jackpot." Peter smiles at MJ and walks inside with the rest of the group. Leaning in to her he whispers "Spectacular. This will be a spectacularly amazing trainwreck." He has a seat and turns to Clint. "How did you convince him to do this?"

"Oh, I cheated. Love Cap, I do, but he can never tell when I pull a fast one on him." Clint smiles. "Besides, it's for his own good." "Yeah, we speak from experience: Steve tends to get really introspective if hasn't dated a while, and that kind of self-doubt brings him down. We're short-circuiting the pattern." Janet hands out popcorn. "And getting entertainment from it." MJ smirks. "Multitasking" Jan and Clint respond in unison. The TV turns on and you can see the attractive Korean-American woman across from Steve as they talk. Turns out she's a lawyer. Clint and Janet wince. "What? You think they'd have a lot in common." MJ inquires. "Steve's last ex was a lawyer. Little too close." Janet responds. The next one was a young woman with an electric blue brushcut and piercings in her nose and eyebrows. Clint and Janet laugh. The third woman sits down. MJ's eyes go wide. "Peter...that's...Felicia?"

In the camera feed, Blink could make out a large silhouette in the bar window. There was something about it that bothered her, but she couldn't figure out why....

"Who are you?" Blink thought looking at the shape of the shadow, "Large silhouette...Maybe another ambush? but that seems unlikely. were not exactly in our work suits. If this worlds Sentinels were active...My worlds could track mutants." This sort of on edge distraction was disrupting any joy of the fearless leader's torment. "Thanks magneto....Make me into a little soldier....Will I ever be normal again?" the mutant thought to herself.
"Mansion, Can you get a visual of the area outside the bar were at?" The mutant asked. If it was outside it was big..If was inside then that brace of crystals just might be used after all.
"Hey Tally, You up for some air? I think I might have some action for us...Hope I'm wrong though." she asked starting to the area the bar window was at and looked outside if it was there carefully and ready to draw. Should the image be over kill the pin could be called a hair accessory, albeit a large and tacky one.

Blink heard back from Bill Foster back at Avengers Mansion. "Sorry, I don't have anything, what's your status?"
Tally looks at Blink. "What's wrong?"

"I just saw a largish shadow that bothers me, Tally." she answered, "I may be just paranoid..but my instincts tell me there may be more to it. I'm going to check it out just in case..you remember what happened last time we we're ambushed, right? I'm not eager to wreck another bar." she grinned.
"Bill, I'll set the card to automatically transmit audio so you can hear us. Any recent escapes or villains in the area I should be aware of?" the mutant asked. The notion of an open comm meant if there was trouble Bill could be aware and call for help for her. It was what military and police forces work better. the other major advantage was a record of what happened to allow others to finish her work if she didn't survive. This world may not be her home but it was still dangerous and being an avenger meant teamwork. Something she was not unfamiliar with.

"Understood, Blink." Foster replied as Blink headed out.

Blink looked around where she saw the shadow for hints of movement, glimmers or out of place objects. The main concern was if she was up to the task to a certain degree. Given the last time she soloed an opponent it went horrible. Sabretooth and beast both being right she was out classed, but that didn't make her feel any better about it. 1d20·1d20·1d100

Blink doesn't see anything as she heads outside except for the screeches of some cats in a nearby alleyway.
