Bridge
Belt Weigh was about 2 hours behind them, and Foreman had the flight shift while they were still in the belt.
Everything was very quiet, with no expected traffic, or even a sign of something unexpected.
Elsewhere on the ship
The ship was settling down for a quiet night, after all of the heretofore only ever alluded to activity at the Belt Weight Station.
Bridge
OK, I lied.
The collision warning lit up. It was immediately followed by a palpable thud that shook the ship. It was the kind of thump that felt like someone had heaved it up by a corner. (Navigation and Piloting, please!)
Red lights were flashing everywhere.
No less than 10 seconds later, Tawfeek was on the bridge.
"The hell?!" Tawfeek barked.
Elsewhere
If the thump didn't knock a body out of bed, the red lights and the atmosphere alarm did.

Flip had been sitting back taking a sip from his coffee thinking about how boring it was traveling through space on delivery missions. Unfortunately that was cut short the by collision warning followed by the thud.
He tries to put his coffee down as he then reaches for the controls to try and see what hit them and if there was more. His thoughts are, 'that collision sensor needs replacing or calibrating, we should have had more warning than that.'

On the bridge
Seeing Foreman doing his job, Tawfeek went to the navigation table, and was scrolling around. The captain didn't even seem to respond to the warning lights.
Foreman found the ship had been pushed off course, and was facing the wrong direction. If Foreman didn't correct, soon, they would have real problems.
"What were you?" Tawfeek burst out. Foreman could hear the annoyance in his voice. There seemed to be silence, followed by a renewed "The hell?"

McKenna had been dead asleep, but sleeping on the edge of the bed had ... downfalls. She awoke with the second thump following the first one had caused her to spook in the first place. The alarms howling and emergency lights woke her up quick if still groggy. She went to the comm panel before even dressing and hit the button, "Where do you need me Cap? Do we have wounded?"

Flip cursed as he looked at the sensors, whatever hit them spun them around.
He works quickly to try and correct it. "Captain I don't know what the hell that was. It was clear one moment and collision the next," he says as he tries to reorient the ship onto the proper course.

On the Bridge
Tawfeek walked from the navigation table to the co-pilot's console and looked at the read-out.
He then turned off the alarm. And sealed the cargo hold.
"This is the captain," he said on the general comm. "Everyone to the bridge. I'm assuming no-one was in the cargo hold, so we should he fine, McKenna." And left it at that.
"I think I know what.," he said, pointing the general distance of that had shifte the ship. Something gleaming in space was leaving the belt. It didn't look like a ship. "Head for it, but stay clear of affecting its path, for now."
Throughout the ship
The alarms turned off, leaving an eerie quiet.
"This is the captain," Tawfeek said on the general comm. "Everyone to the bridge. I'm assuming no-one was in the cargo hold, so we should he fine, McKenna."

Dressing quickly, McKenna made her way to the bridge and slid into, as usual, empty navigational station seat. " So what did Flip hit this time?" She teased as she glanced around, trying to determine why everything seemed brighter on one side. Touching her cheek, she figured it out quickly, finding tenderness around her cheekbone. Not enough to bruise, but would still be annoying.

Flip shakes his head, "affect its trajectory? It hit us Captain," he says as he alters the ships direction.
"What do you think it is Captain," he asks as MJ steps in. When she pokes fun he says, "it hit us, not the other way around."
He spares a glance at her and notices her touching her cheek, "you ok MJ?"

Bridge
Not long after Mckenna, Mensk and Jessica arrived on the bridge.
"The.. The rock is the other way, Foreman." Tawfeek said. "And, it didn't hit us. Its shockwave did."
Mensk was staring at the holomapping table thing. "It hit us from this distance? What were they thinking?"
Jessica looked at the map. "Captain, it's moving pretty fast."
Mckenna saw a notice on her screen that a trajectory for the rock had been calculated. Tawfeek must have been sitting there before she arrived.
There was also a communication notice looking for some attention.

McKenna looked over at Tawfeek, uncertain if she should move. "I'm okay Flip, just wasn't expecting to get bounced out of bed. Captain, did you get the trajectory before you moved, or just enter the information into the computerThere is also an incoming transmission here when you are ready for it."

Flip nods, "sorry I think systems are still out of wack from the initial blast," he says banging the side of his console.
Flip then tries to correct the ships direction and glancing at the trajectory that was already plotted, he tries to match it. "Glad your all ok," he says as they all seem to be on the bridge now. "I'm going to try and get us on this things tail, so things might still be a little rough. You might want to hold onto something."
As he does he says, "shock wave would account for why the collision alarms didn't go off sooner. No real object came at us."

"You keep hitting that console you'll be fixing it yourself." Mengsk commented looking over his shoulder, "I'll see what I can do with gravity to make the ride a little less damaging to us." Mengsk adds adjusting gravity to partially deflect other smaller objects and shock-waves away from them.

[bridge] First... The only real gravity controls are for the interior. For the exterior (and, admittedly this is a small oversight), they would only be on the bottom of the ship to assist in take-off. So, Mensk successfully deflects any small objects on the bottom surface of the ship.
Also, luckily, Foreman was able to adjust for the affect of the take-off-erators to stay on course. He was also astonished at how fast he had to go just to keep up with it.
Tawfeek abruptly undoes Mensk's work.
"Nothing that affects the outside of the ship," he said. "Or we would vet in trouble over that fragment. Foreman, keep with it like you're tailing a comet."
Jessica reached over Mckenna and swith the data to the holotable.
The line pointed to the centre of the solar system.
And then towards a certain planet three planets from the sun. And it was moving fast.
Tawfeek pursed his lips.
He pushed a button, and all the registered ships flashed on.
"It's outside the trade lanes," Jessica said. "I don't think an armed ship would arrive in time. Or even have the ammunition."

"What the devil is it?" McKenna asked as she moved to observe the holo table. "It looks like it is headed for.... ," she hesitated and swallowed," Captain, tell me that wasn't some sort of weapon."

Flip pushes the ship to keep up with the rock. "What about that satellite capture setup we have? We can use that and maybe slow this thing down, or pull it off course," he says as he stays with the rock.
