Bryan gets Joe his double Jack and Bernie his Makers, casualy listening to the conversation, yet keeping his attention on Patty all the while. After her tale of the Trooper encounter he too seems amazed "yesterday i would have said you were full of shit, but as i see you sitting here Patty im a beleiver, maybe the cop was or had another version of what has stricken you?" "And no offense but im not sure you going into anywhere outside this compound alone is a great idea,i hear you that the zombies mostly leave you alone but what about when they dont?"

GM POST
She flashes Rob a small smile again, showing she not offended then responds to Big Mac. “Seriously. With a big truck like that, I'd never have to worry about being shot up by the zombie cops anymore.”
“As far as I know, Bernie, so long as I leave the zombies alone, they leave me alone. If I'm careful, take it slow, I'm usually in and out with no problem, but there's always the chance they'll make and start to chase after me.”
She stops looking to Bryan. “When that happens, I drop everything and get the fuck out of town. Fast. I mean I just fucking run for it.” Stops, this pushes her plate away. “You can't ever let the zombies box you in. Once that happens, I mean when they've really got you surrounded, you're good as dead.”
“That's what happened to me.” She gestures to her pale face. “That was a small group. Sergeant Chapman and his guys found stepped in at the last moment and killed them off. Managed to bring me back.” She stops talking, looking away.
Buckley clears his throat and answers, “We don't know about about Fort Huachuca. Chapman says it was overrun like everywhere else, but if your looking for military gear and weapons, that would be a good place to try your luck. Just gotta' be careful going in there. 'Specially places like hospitals.”
Patty chimes in. “I don't know. Sure a lot of zombies rose when they started coming back to life at hospitals, but most of them have wondered away from places like that. Y'know, looking for the living. If you can get to one, it might be worth the risk. Chances are better now that I've got people who want to help me.”
Buckley ponders that quietly a moment, reaching out to push her plate back to her. “Eat something. I think I've got an idea our friends here might like. Gimme a day or two, and I'll see if we can't get you your guns back.”

"I've always found them to be like locusts. They'll pick an area clean then move on in search of more living. If the entire area is dead, I mean for miles, they usually go to sleep until some poor sap wakes em up, just like ringing the dinner bell. They may have moved on by now. Could be worth a look...
...Rifles and handguns with plenty of ammo, fuel, medicine, fortification materials, construction equipment, vehicles, all in abundance. Everything they would need. Even looted 10 times over, there will be plenty more where that came from. If it's not infested, Huachuca would be a post-apocalyptic Costco."
Despite a warm personality and his ability to socialize, Bernie had a certain "Reid from Criminal Minds" quality to him. He thought out loud and thought quickly. He rarely forgot, either.
He nodded as Patty spoke. "Yeah, all those infected died in the hospitals. I got sent home right before they rose." His countenance saddened as he recalled the hundreds, maybe thousands with "Captain Trips" and the overworked staff. His friends and colleagues. "They never had a chance. After they joined the herd, they probably went to the streets looking for more. I'll see if I can't find you a hospital, Patty. I'll help you."
When Buckley spoke, Bernie snapped out of his stupor. He looked over to Anna and shrugged. "Give me the details, Buckley. I'm in."

Since Bernie has just signed himself up on a fool's errand, Anna sighs and says, "Well, I guess I'm going as well."
