Anna quietly contemplates the request given to the group. While she wasn't thrilled about giving up her rifle, she did understand the reasoning behind it. A thought occurs to her and she asks, "Is it all right if I give you the rifle and keep the ammo?" A smirk appears as she adds, "Can't hurt anyone with bullets." If this is all right, Anna will pop the cartridge of her rifle and hand the rifle over. 'I'm sure he has lots of other guns, but at least he can't shoot me in the back with my own rifle.'

Bernie laughed inwardly at his sister-in-law. She had a thousand ways to commit grievous bodily harm, and her rifle was just one. She got a knowing wink.
He greeted Bryan and Mac with a handshake. "Bernie Bernstein. Good to see some living faces. Rob, you and your fellow Armstrong here are welcome to put your bikes on the roof rack and ride into town with us. I think we might even have some water that is just slightly above lukewarm."
To Mac, he said, "I think you're alright for a ride, but if you need anything. I'll see what we have. How have you taken that lorry, I mean truck, through a dead-car freeway?" His foreign life now and then expressed itself with a British term.
Offering the sergeant a nod he smiled. "I guess the ayes have it, Chapman. We'll hold on to our firearms until we get to camp, just to make sure you don't have a rape gang around the next cactus. We will want to know where they are stored and have immediate access if there's an attack. We get a key to your lockup and no arguments from your guard. We're going to need them back within 24 hours. Ammo stays with us. That is, if that's okay with everyone here."

"With or with the ammo is fine by me." Shakes hands with the large black man "Hey there I'm Rob sorry I missed your name." Shakes hands with the guy with sunglasses"Hey there I'm still Rob and I'm sorry I missed your name also." Waves to Anna "Nice to meet ya." To Bernie "Thanks I would love a ride hope you have AC in there."said with a chuckle.

"Joe MacConnel." He replies, shaking hands with anyone and everyone. "Yes, I have taken ma rig through something of an auto-graveyard. Nothing too serious, just push through whatever wasn't blocking the safty lane too bad.
"Just don't like them when those dead zombies start climbing out of the cars."
Joe visiably shakes, to rinse the feeling of nerves creeping up his spine. That had been a seriously scary moment. Even with the heavy metal plating those damn zombies creep Joe out.
"All right, if its all settle then I'll climb in and follow ya'll to where we're going. I'll be sure to take it easy on the drive in."
Joe says the last to the soldier.

GM POST
Sergeant Chapman says to Rob, "Just call me Chapman. We don't stand on protocol around here. 'Sides, I'm the only military man here."
He does take a moment to admire Big Mac's rig. "If that's your handy work, I'm pretty sure we can find some decent work for you to do."
"You're good to go on the knives, Doc, and the ammo. Like I side, we're only going to collect the guns until we know we can trust you. I doubt you gonna get the key to the armory, but don't worry. If the fucking zombies attack us in force, we all fall back to the school. Everyone will get a gun then."
He looks back to his partner in the SUV who has finished talking on the radio and nods to him.
"Alright, folks. You're cleared to go in." Shifting his rifle to the side he points towards down. "Just follow W Rath Ave till you get to the school. They'll have the gate for you, so all you gotta do is into the parking lot. Guys from the town committee and security personal will meet."
He looks to Bernie and says, "I understand you guys concerns, but we want to help you folks however long you're with us. Just follow their instructions and they'll get you settled in as soon as possible."
He steps aside to let everyone through, hanging around to answer any more questions before you take off for Cochise.

"Nice to meet you Joe." He gave the trucker some eye contact with the hand shake. "I think we'll be alright for a while. Maybe we can even relax a little. We're going to look out for each other. I'll watch your six if you get mine." His voice was understanding, without being condescending, reassuring without patronizing. It was clear the doctor had seen, and feared the same things, and was glad for a sanctuary.
At that, Bernie disarmed his car alarm. The "Beep-beep Beep-beep" seemed silly in the age of zombies, but at least he knew nothing was lurking inside his truck. He jumped in and the motor turned over immediately, chugging with a good diesel engine sound. A whooshing noise attested to some high-powered, cold air conditioning.
"AC? Yeah, I think we have that, too."
Once aboard, he will pass Rob and Bryan a liter of Gatorade. It wasn't ice cold, but it wasn't boiling. Then he gave each something marked as a "Hooah" bar. It was nothing but protein, carbs and electrolytes, but it was sweet, chewy and didn't mind the heat in the slightest.
He passed one drink to Anna, assuming she jumped into the shotgun seat. "See, I told you this wouldn't be so bad. Maybe they have a lead on Nats."
He looked at an I-phone docked in the console of the SUV. "Music, 'Betty' Blues Explosion..." And a song began to play. He revved the engine and smiled.
"You guys hurt, or need anything, let me know. Otherwise, I think we're going to Cochise..."
Once everyone was aboard, and glared into wearing their seat belts, he would follow the guide into town. Until then, he waited and cooled the SUV with a very cold AC.
"So before the shit hit the fan, who did what?" Bernie asked to stimulate some conversation.

"I got ya back doctor, don't you worry." Joe says, nodding to the others as they get ready to pile into the other vehicle. He walks back to his rig and climbs aboard. He begins flipping switches to get everything started, putting the .357 into a makeshift holster hanging from his seat. He contemplated leaving his shotgun on board and just claiming the revolver, but nah, that wouldn't do out here. These folks got by on trust and if one were to give them issue about trust they might decide that you aren't wanted in their town. His bow on the other hand was in a leather case, almost like a satchel, and hanging in his closet. He doubt they were going to have qualms about that staying onboard as a black man with a bow running around town might stand out quite a bit.
Once they little parade gets started down the road the big rig follows after them. Oh a good day, having 'Dead Wrecker' following you down the road would be disconcerting. The truck look like it could plow through anything not cemented to the ground.
Joe kept his eye out for trouble on the trip, making sure the soldier and the rest of the people here had good intentions. Damn, he hope these people had good intentions. He wants to get some sleep without a zombie sucking out his brains.

"Sorry, I mean my wife Natalie." At that point, he showed Rob and Bryan a picture of an attractive woman. If they were foodies, she might look very familiar. If not, she had a brilliant smile.
"This is Anna's sister, too. If you've seen her, we'd like to know where."

Bryan returned Bernies's and Mac's handshake firmly and confidently.Got his bike stowed on the roof of the SUV and climbed in the back passengerside seat. There was a time when hed never get into a car like this as dirty and nasty as he was,but he was pretty sure the Doc didnt give a damn. Not anymore atleast,it was funny how somethings just didnt matter anymore.Itd be a matter of time before those samethings were just forgotten. He Graciously accepted the gatorade taking a sip and passing it back.Looking over the protein bar he smiles and puts it in his pocket."Thanks for the hospitality Bernie,Im Bryan Decker,I like the way you handled yourself back there. You Military?"Bryan extends his hand into the fronseat offering to shake Anna's. "No not hurt but definetly tired and in need of a shower" he clicks his seatbelt."Beleive it or not i was a bartender before... before whatever the hells going on."He says with a halfhearted smile. His smile widens as hes shown the Picture,"I know her,she has a cooking show,yeah... ,good show too.""But no i havnt seen...shes probably..." Realising he was just putting his foot deeper,he reached forward and put his hand lightly on Bernies shoulder, not caring how he would receive the contact,it just seemed the right thing to do."Well find her"

"Yeah, I was in the IDF before med school. I was a medic, just figured maybe people will respect a uniform. Anna on the other hand, she taught SERE training for the Air Force, and has kept me alive. And nice to meet you Bryan."
He smiled. "Bartender, eh? We'll have to find you some of the tools of your trade. Me? I'd love an old fashioned right now."
As they talked about Natalie, he gave a nod. It was difficult for all the survivors to talk about the dead and the missing. "Thanks Bryan. I know she's out there somewhere."

GM POST
Bernie's Land Rover head the small convey, turning onto the road leading to Cochise, Big Mac's monster rig follow behind with a throaty growl.
Big Mac's search of the surrounding desert yields nothing in the way of bad guys laying in wait, although he sees the Sergeant in his mirror give the group a parting wave as he heads back to his SUV, which stays in place; waiting for anyone else who might find their way into town.
Your trip into his brief and uneventful. This survivor community is seems to be free and clear of the walking dead for the moment. Following along the road you quickly come to the former Cochise Elementary School.
It is a large single story building that has undergone some extensive renovations. The form hall of education for tots has now become a fort against the creeping doom. The entire perimeter is surrounding to over lapping chain link fences, both 10 feet tall, the tops and bottoms surrounded by barbed and razor wire; one corner of the fence line has a wooden roofed guard tower in the north-east corner overlooking the approach from W. Rath Ave, a single person is seen on duty there now as his pass by.
You pull in past the double gates that are open for your arrival. In the main parking lot you see a small group of four men and one woman waiting for you. All four men are clearly armed with rifle, shotguns and pistols but do not seem to be tense or hostile. The woman seems unarmed but hanging back behind the men.

Anna nods at anyone who introduces themselves and says "I'm Anna." She gets into Bernie's vehicle and accepts the gatorade with a quiet thanks. She says very little when the topic falls onto her sister Natalie. While she hoped Natalie was all right, she'd seen very little to indicate that and can't help but think Bernie was pinning all his hopes on something insubstantial.
When they arrive at the main parking lot, Anna looks over the group of people waiting for them. She sin't surprised to see they're armed and doesn't discount the woman simply because it appears she isn't armed. 'She could be hiding a pistol or a knife.' Anna thinks to herself.

"Welcome to Cochise." Joe says to himself. He wheels the big truck in and settles it in a spot where he can put her without being in the way, with the driver door facing the gather welcoming committee. He drops the magazine from the Saiga, ejecting the round from the chamber. Then he empties the .357 and pushes it into the waist band of his pants. He lets out a annoyed sound, looking up. There as the machine gun, ready to be mounted on the turret in case of bad human relations. It was an old M-60 he manage to salvage and get working again from the many military wrecks. He wishes they could have carried a little more ammo for the big gun, but he was happy with what he could get.
He moves up to unlock the gun and pull out the ammo box holding the ammo belt. Once done with that, he begins the painful process of opening up and getting out with the guns, trying not to drop them.
"Hey, someone give me a hand over here." He calls over to Bernies group. When someone comes over, Joe will hand them the shotgun and he would carry the machine-gun. He did sport the weapon like Rambo, but definitely keeping the working end of the barrel pointed up and away from anybody who might take the gesture the wrong way.
