Ch 24 To the Rescue! (All)

Still applying slow, but steady pressure to Wraith's trachea Alice attempts to avoid the energy shot Wraith threw in her direction. (dodge: 12) Unfortunately, in her hurry to get Jason out of the way first, she is hit and the force of the blast throws her back into the car and causes her to lose her grip on her telekinesis. Stunned, she frantically tries to regain her hold on Wraith by reapplying pressure before he can attack her again. (ISP: 20, strike: 14)

At the same time as Alice is getting attacked, William uses the situation to his advantage... creating a cricle of flame encompassing himself, Wraith and Leo.

"OK, folks. He says. Who wants a piece of me?" He asks, increasing the heat inside the flame circle.

[Dome]

Isamu sees Sierra attack, and runs towards one of the other gunmen. Normally he would do a jump kick, but instead since he is in his stone form, lowers his shoulder and charges into the gunmen. (strike 10 +2 = 12)

There's nothing in the hallway for Sierra to throw except the downed gunmen writhing in agony on the floor and his dropped weapon. Her move to the left of the corridor seemed to distract them long enough for Isamu to snowplow a couple of them, scattering them like bowling pins. Dmitri followed Isamu's lead and did the same along the other side. Only one was left standing, and he lowered his weapon quickly when Kerry leveled his own at the mob soldier. Obviously the fact that he was using the wall to hold himself didn't matter with the barrel of Kerry's weapon trained on him. " Now what do we do with them?" Dmitri asked.


Wraith managed to avoid Alice's grip, coughing as he regained his ability to breath while shaking his finger at her. But his humour faded as Will's flame ring encircled all of them. His shadowy form became solid thanks to the flickering flames giving him nowheres to hide. Leo also settled down, his body weapons put away as he looked for a way out.

As Wraith spoke, he sounded nervous," Okay Will, let's talk about this now. No need to get personal." He pulled out a gas grenade. " Don't make me use this."

"Alice, get Jason to a hospital." William calls over the flames, keeping leo and Wraith in view. "He has a deal to fulfil."

After a moment, William moves a bit closer to Wraith. "You know, it's funny. Leo doesn't want to bargain, he's still just looking for a way out." For emphasis, William fuels the flames, growing them higher. "But he's only half the devil you are. But you already know that, since Deth has moved on from you. The world has left your behind, Wraith."

Eyeing the grenade, he says, "You could use it, this is true, but you'll still be stuck in the flames, which is a doubly large problem, since that gas is explosive... or don't you remember my fun day at the Domicelli factory."

"Leo, you're best to stand down, for the moment. You aren't going anywhere." William says. "Especially if Wraith uses that grenade."

*Sierra tries a bluff and hopes that it will give the others a chance to act*

'you are between me and what I want. I suggest you get the **** outta here .. or what I did to that one, i'll do to your neck .. '

*she starts rubbing a fist with the palm of the other hand and takes a series of slow steps, much like Bubba did when he was stalking her, and then gives a slow grin at thinking of how the tiger moved, not what she hopes is pure bluff

Isamu walks over to the one man left standing. He grabs the barrel of his gun and bends it in his stone grasp. "I suggest you help your men find their way out, as this building will not stand against the fire for much longer," he says to the man.

He then turns to Dimitri and Kerry, "we should disarm them and then focus on our companions."

*Sierra sees her bluff fade as Isamu bends the man's rifle barrel. her face reflects the annoyment, but she decides to do a single back flip and gathers up the weapons instead.

'i'll guard the rear .. you guys get the door .. ' *as she takes up a spot to give Kerry some additional cover and tries to look threatening with the various weapons in hand.

' .. k .. lean on me then .. ' *spoken quietly to Kerry, and she hopes that it will be enough support for him

Hearing Will, Alice gets up and checks on Jason to see if he's still alive and what his condition is (first aid: 20%, pass) She'll do her best to move his body into the car and hopes that it will still run so she can drive him to the nearest hospital.

Jason seemed to be okay other than the scratch on the neck, except he was unconscious and very heavy as Alice dragged him into the back seat. He did stir slightly as the car started.

" You think I'd chance that, William?" Wraith snickered. " This is the good Doc's latest recipe. I pull this pin and you cook like the rest of us." He looked at Leo and shrugged," Sorry bud, them's the breaks." He looked back at Will. " What do you mean,, Deth bailing on me? That freak works for Denial and Denial hires out to whoever's got the bucks and he already got paid for his job and moved on." He pulled out the grenade's pin, holding the release with his other hand. " come on now Will, drop the flames."

The last standing mob soldier helped a couple of his companions to his feet before the two of them ran without their weapons.
Dmitri stepped up and tapped the fragile looking crystalline covered door before winding up and punching it. Even in his metallic form, it had little effect other than to seemingly hurt as he shook his fist. " Not even a dent. How do we breach this?"

Avi's voice came over the bandadio," Hey, someone's trying to get in."

Alice looks over at Jason as she drives, looking for the nearest hospital. Her plan is to get Jason checked in and then head back to help the others, not wanting to abandon them completely.

William grins. "You never did play it smart." He says, grinning. Taking flight, the circle still many feet high, he fires at the arm holding the grenade hoping to get him to drop it. (Strike: 19, Damage: 8 SDC) "Well?"

*supporting Kerry, Sierra moves closer to Dimitri and Isamu. 'how about asking them to lower the .. Kristien to lower his wall. i'm sure its his power there. sides, i need him to help keep Kerry alive, and i can't sense them so ... they might hear us if we ask ... '

*Sierra looks about the area to make sure that no one else is trying to sneak in on them and to try and stay aware of where the other Meta's are and if they are closing in or not

Isamu watches Dimitri punch the crystal wall with no effect. He walks up and puts his hand on it. In stone form he has little tactile response, but he doesn't need it after watching Dimitri. "Perhaps if we cannot go through it, there is a way around it. Perhaps through the wall, or the wall of another room."

Isamu then touches his radio and says, "we are outside the door, but cannot get past the crystal barrier."

' .. hey Kerry? ... how come you're with these other guys if you're not a Meta like them? .. if you don't wanna talk about it, thats fine. just wondering is all ... then you can ask something about me after that .. k?'

*Sierra tries to distract Kerry from his injuries with a seemingly dense question. but for her, its a need to understand why Meta's are different. she adjusts her hold on him with ease so her arm is under his for support, easing the pressure against his ribs. she grins as she mentions the next comment low enough for him to hear 'unless you wannt be scooped off your feet, but then i'll have to drop the guns ..'
