Ch 24 To the Rescue! (All)

Isamu starts down the hall. Checking the doors that Sierra doesn't. With an idea he taps his radio, " Janie can you acquire the building layout and tell us how you think we can get to Trevor based on the description of where they are?"

He continues opening doors as he waits to hear from her. Turning to Dimitri once they got a ways away from William. "Dimitri," he says, "how long will it take you to get him to Tyler, and get back."

" I don't remember, Sierra. It all happened so fast." Kristian replied, the baby crying in the background. " Wait, striaght down the long corridor acrossed from the elevators." As she freed herself from the doorway, Wraith was at the edge of her radar while above she could feel two other metas on the next floor.


" Smart girl. But since I can't put the blade down, your at a bit of a disadvantage, aren't you?" Leo replied. He looked down at Jason, his convulsions slowing. the blade had already nicked him and blood was trickling down his neck. " Oops, clumsy me."

Janie came acrossed the radio. " Already on it, Is. Two stairwells, one down at the end of the corridor coming up on your right and the other acrossed from the elevators. they're both about the same distance."

Dimitri stiffened after shrugging off Wraith's blast. " Only a minute or two. Take longer to get him down to the medcenter than to travel there. The patch will hold for now."

Kerry gritted his teeth." I'm fine, drugs are kicking in now."

" You lie."
" Yeah, but it sounded good." Kerry grimaced.

' .. elevators? .. i didn't see any .. eww creepy guy again .. and a couple more on the next floor? .. ew .. never thought i'ld be sensing anything like this .. ' *she gives a shudder and looks about for an elevator while she moves*

'hey Issa-I ... creepy guy's back. i got a 60 foot range, so i don't know what way he is .. be careful, k? ... and a couple more are in range but not here here, this floor here, yet' *she looks at Isamu mid scan to ensure he hears, then finishes her looking

"I understand Jane. Dimitri, go quickly. Do not let anyone follow you. Hurry back. Sierra, we need to stay close. Let us go to the stairs as Janie stated."

*Sierra, ever grateful for some kind of 'order' or 'command' to follow, does as Isamu suggests and runs behind him in the search for stairs. she hopes that maybe they will see the elevator as they go along.

Alice tries not to panic as she tries to make a decision about whether to put up the gun. Stalling she asks "Then why would I give you my gun if you're just going to kill both of us anyway?"

Using tk, Alice tries to push the blade away from Jason and hold it there (strike: 18+3=21) as long as she could as she calls over the radio 'Is there any chance we could get some help? We're under attack!'

William grins. "All according to expectations." He says. "Wraith!" He yells. "You know they've replaced you, right? Even went the really messed up way. Photon III, if you can imagine."

With the place safely aflame, William goes to Dmitri before he can make a portal. "You have to get to the baby first. Get everyone out of here as fast as you can, in one go. It is the only way to ensure success. Kerry, if he doesn't do this, you have my permission to die all over him."

Tapping the band-aidio, he says, "You're to guard the baby, help is on its way, Avery. Ensure complete evac."

Then, he heads back to the car, figuring Wraith has enough issues, and a let down for a final battle wouldn't hurt his inferiority complex any more than usual.

With that, William makes his way back to the car to check on Jason and Alice.

*with the whifts of smoke starting to filter through and into sight from the fires, Sierra speaks once more to Kristien "we're on the second floor .. what floor were you on? ... the building is .. a little cloudy just now, and Kerry's been hit. i still can't sense you. just a couple more on another floor ... '

Sierra could feel Will leave her range, and without seeing him, Wraith passed her and Isamu to follow him. As they went up the stairs, both of them could see six more of the mob soldiers firing indiscriminantly at door that looked like it was covered in crystals the same color as Kristian's transformation. None of them noticed Is, Sierra, Dmitri and Kerry behind them. Kristian replied over the band-adio " On the second floor. follow the sound of the machine guns." He coughed," This place is filling up with smoke too." They must trying to smoke us out." (evryone has initiative in suprise attack)


Leo scowled at Alice as the sword morphed back into his has and he stalked towards her, ignoring Jason. " fine, you can go first. the Don pays me either way." He pulled his own, much larger handgun. He started to aim at her as Will burst from the building. " Uh oh." He mumbled.

" Oooh, my favorite playtoys too. William, you shouldn't have!" Wraith cackled behind Will, hovering in the doorway in his shadowy form. He was obviously looking at Jason. " Awww, you clutz, you broke one of them. I wanted to do it!" He fired a blast of energy at Will ( str-11)

Alice pales at the sight of Wraith and uses Will's distraction as an opportunity to run over to Jason's side to check to make sure he was still alive (first aid: 40%, pass). She then takes a deep breath and thinks 'Get a hold of yourself, girl. He won't scare you if if you don't let him.' Looking to Will, she asks using telepathy 'What do you want me to do?'

*using the bandaid, Sierra whispers as she gets ready to get rid of one of the shooters from behind 'hey .. how did you make a wall of crystal outside the door? .. thats what they're shooting at .. '

*then she moves up behind one of the rear guards and thinks fast. dropping to her knee behind him, she punches the air at his belt line and drives her forearm up and into the area between the legs, and hopes that her quick 'sorry ... i saw Chyna do this' will make up for what she hopes is his quick exit from the fight.

William thinks of the scene from Star Wars where Darth Vader's crushing the cocky Imperial officer's throat... replacing the officer with Wraith and Vader with Alice. There is a lot of trust and conviction in his mind. Taking Wraith's shot (below his fire-form AR! Hee hee!) He says, out loud, "I find your lack of faith disturbing." To Wraith.

In a second, he whirls, firing a flame blast at stupid sword guy's eyes. (19+3=22 to strike, 11 SDC to the eyes)

Alice 'watches' the scene in William's mind and does her best to use her TK powers to do the same to Wraith, using slow, but steady pressure on his trachea. (10 to strike, isp: 20 for 200 lbs of pressure, damage: 40 sdc) She continues to do so for as long as she is able to apply the pressure.

The mobster dropped faster than expected when Sierra hit him, moaning incoherently as he rolled on the floor clutching himself. The other five however, turned to face their attackers. All of them looking suprised and reloading.

Wraith's unending cackle started to fade as he grabbed his throat in a vain attempt to defend himself. His eyes focused on Alice, and he unleashed another blast of energy, this time at her [ str-15, 22dmg]

Leo tried to turn his head away as the flames struck, but he cried out in pain, clutching his face. His other hand became a mace and chain that flailed blindly out at Will in a sweeping arc.

*Sierra frowns, unable to totally understand how come the guy went down so fast. then she looks atthe other gangsters in the area reloading and looks about for things to throw at them for a distraction as she darts to the left and makes a racket in the process. hoping to assist the others with her distraction and assumption that she can't possibly get injured.
