Lex scowled as goons disgorged from the vans. 16 to 2 was poor odds, especially with so many bystanders. " All right, this is going to be ugly, Viv. Get geared up and see if you can find a high point to pick them off from. A windowsill, or balcony or something. I don't remember seeing one, but I was busy working the room. I'm going to go in behind them and maybe get the drop on them, or at least draw their attention. From the looks of thins, they aren't expecting much of a fight, so we'll give them one. We have to let them make their move first though."

Excusing himself, by wild coincidence Caleb heads to the bathroom (and away from the other guests) about the time those vans are apparently disgorging thugs.  |

Rex, something is really off about this guy. His mannerisms look too practiced to be authentic.

Lex wanted to move, but knew he'd make too much of a scene if he just started blasting away. Instead of going after those going inside, he knew he'd have to take out the outside guards first. "Viv, this one is going to get hairy, we need to be smart or alot of people could get hurt"

Vivian beams when Lex relents and says that she can help him. Quickly getting ready, Vivian grabs her bow and some arrows and nods at Lex. "Agreed." she whispers to him quietly.

Logically Caleb wouldn't have his Scarecrow costume with him (the coat and such wouldn't be easily concealable for something like this) as the thugs enter and don't notice him immediatly he takes that oppertunity to turn invisible.
Does he recognize any of these guys from his exploits as The Scarecrow, and astrally surveying the city looking for criminals to terrorize in his spare time? Anyone he knows works for a specific crime lord, or he might have trounced before?

Caleb recognizes the men as Maroni's goons - his bag squad for when he wants someone kidnapped.
Lex sees the clear leader - Sven, one of the few non-Italians in Maroni's crew - a bulky Swede over six and a half feet tall carrying a shotgun and a billy club. Rumor has it he's busted men's skulls like cantaloupes with that thing.
Rex, "Powell" is about to reply when suddenly you see 3 masked goons enter and throw a woman to the floor. "NOBODY MOVE!"

Caleb doesn't know about the plans of the other heroes, but figures he needs to do something, his options being fairly limited without his costume. He casts "Swords To Snakes" on the bad guys to transform their weapons (50 PPE) that should be enough to handle half a dozen handguns/sidearms carried by the goon squad.
This will not only provide a great distraction for Lex's stealth attempt and whatever Vivian decides to do, but render the bad guys effectively unarmed which will make controlling the situation much more difficult for them.

Lex sneaks up on his target while Vivian takes out the tire (roll 2D6 for damage).
Rex, you don't even have time to react to the armed gunmen when some of their guns turn into snakes and start attacking them. While it definitely helps your situation, it's caused a full-scale riot to break out!

"ooops, well that was a bit more of a reaction than I expected, still these thugs weren't here to committ mass murder and losing control of the situation this way probably foiled their plan" thinks Caleb to himself.
He'll continue to keep an eye on both the thugs and the paniced crowd in case he has to take further action (to prevent anyone from getting trampled if nothing else).

Getting the drop on the Swede, Lex deliberately triggered the release for his wrist blades, causing them to scissor into place with a bit of a click while bringing up the Tommy Trencher's barrel to face the mobster so his blades were mere inches from his target. He spoke firmly," Drop your weapon and get on your knees, now. What is Marconi up to?"
