WIlliam looks over at Ashley, then the rest of the group. "We will be following up on that. However, Kerry has raised the possibility of researching a specific location to find the Brethren. It seems, as with most large cities, there's a mutants-only bar here in Miami. With its underground status, it would be a likely draw for Brethren members as well. Apply the right pressure, and we'll get answers."
Looking around he says "This will be an interesting event, requiring some tact. This means several things: First off, sorry Ashley, but you can't come. If you're feeling the moon's pull, you'll be too distracted to help. Second, Janie cannot come either. This is a mutants-only bar, so a non-mutant would cause undue trouble."
"Avery, I'll need you to teach Janie how to track the bug. Odds are, whoever's planted it is also tracking the change in movements. But that doesn't mean we should ignore it. Janie, you'll be safer if you stay locked in the war room upstairs. Likewise, Ashley, until Tyler has a cage ready, you should stay in your own room. Try to think about ocean waves, I've found they help in times like these."
Before there can be any protests of this arrangement, he continues.
"The rest of us will be heading for the bar. Since Avery and Kerry are Control agents, it will be wise for you two to keep as low a profile as possible. Likewise, I have to be practically invisible. I'll either be a folk hero, or the devil that brought the hammer down on everyone. Either way, if I'm seen, I'm a bounty waiting to happen. Which is also where our good Control agents come in. If it's called in, you two will sweep in and take me off.
"Isamu, Dmitri, Trevor, you three will have to be our primary eyes and ears in there. Keep your eyes out for suspicious patterns - people not fighting, yelling or dancing. Look especially for a mismatch in age, attire, and stature. Most importantly, look for Brethren colours. Report back before you engage any of them. And do not engage unless Avery, Kerry and myself are in a position to help."
"We find a Brethren wannabe, or weak member. Not weak-looking. We all know the potential for mutant powers in a frail-looking body. We find this member, take him, and interrogate him. Those methods of interrogation are at my discretion, and will not be questioned, reprimanded or prevented. Understood?"
"Now, are there any questions?"

"William is going into an entire building full of powered people a good idea? I know you want to target only one person, but if things go bad we may have to fight everyone t get out. That could leave alot of potential enemies to face."

" It's called the Xscape, and it's not mutants only. so you'll also have to watch out for normal people." Ashley corrected Will, not arguing with him about having to stay behind, though there was something about her sudden calm attitude.
Avery nodded, glancing at Jane. " No problem, the system pretty much runs itself. Twenty minutes and she'll be able to run it as well as Kerry."
" Thanks Avi." Kerry deadpanned. " Good to see your confidence."
" Anytime. Pack your gameboy, we're backup." Avi smirked as Kery sighed.
" I took the liberty of tagging this place in case we need a quick exit." Dimitri chimed in.
Jason looked up at Alice with a michevious grin. " Aren't I always? You better get going before Will gets impatient."

Alice smirks and raises an eyebrow and chuckles. "Do you really want me to answer that?" she asks teasingly. "I'll see you later. Call me if you need anything, ok?" With one last hug, Alice leaves the hospital and heads back towards the beach house.

"I appreciate you remaining calm, Ashley. If you need to return for some quiet time, you can at any time." Looking to the others. "We proceed as planned. If we need to, we'll get the Brethren target out into the street and hit him there, then there would be fewer people to worry about. Anything else?"

" I'm okay for now, Will, but I'd like to talk to you for a moment when your done here. If you'll all excuse me, I'll be out on the deck." Ashley said, getting up from the table and walking out of the room.
" Just like a coiled spring..." Trevor said lowly once he heard the screen door shut behind her.
The trip back to the beachhouse seemed to take way longer than it had to get to the hospital in the first place, and gave Alice a lot of time to reflect on what had happened to her life since Jason had come into it and turned everything inside out.

William nods. "I'm aware, Trevor. I wasn't born yesterday." Louder, he says "Everyone, get ready for tonight."
Getting up, he heads out the door behind Ashley. "Yes?" He asks calmly, keeping out of arm's reach.

" Um, I was thinking. Until I find a way to gain some measure of control, I think that you should pick someone else to lead in your absence. I don't think I'm reliable enough." Ashley replied, brushing her hair out of her eyes. " I should have told you up front this would happen."

Isamu watches as Ashley and William leave the room. He thinks he knows what she is talking to William about. He waits and thinks over William's plan, and although he disagrees with it, he remains silent.

"Thank-you for your honesty." William says to Ashley, relieved she came to this on her own. "With two trained Control agents, and Isamu's level-headed optimism and Alice's experience, we'll make due."
He leans against the railing next to her, looking out into the beach.
"This feels suspicious." He says to her. "I can understand why Mac would give us this house and those two, and why other elements within the agency would be tracking us - CYA - but, there's something about it all that still has me on edge. Like they're waiting for the next mistake, you know?"
With a sigh, he stands upright and looks over to where Alice is pulling up. "Finally. You head inside. If the house is attacked, go with gusto, got it? In the meantime, practice meditative control of your powers. I know you'll never have complete control, but it never hurts to have it when you need it."
And he heads off to meet with Alice.

Alice parks the car and heads towards the beach house. When she encounters Will, she asks "What's going on? Any new developments?"

"Yes." He says, before remembering to drop his formal tone. "We're tracking Klaxon, at the moment via a bug someone planted here, and are about to raid the Xscape to see if we can get ourselves a low-level Brethren member to interrogate. You'll be going in with Trevor, Dmitri and Isamu to find one and bring him out. You're in charge of the three of them, and you'll be the one doing the actual looking. If anything goes wrong, you have to call them out, and let me know."
Looking over to Ashley, then back to Alice. "You're my second on this." He says.
Turning and heading back to the house, he asks, more paternally, "How are Jason and Tyler?"

Alice blinks in surprise. "I'm your second? Why me? I don't have any experience in matters such as this." Alice looks worried as she asks "What if I do something wrong? What if someone gets hurt because of me?" Alice shakes her head "Maybe Avi would be a better choice - he must have more experience at this than I do."

" Of course Mac is waiting for us to drop the ball, Will. That way he can wash his hands and walk away. Or come to the rescue if he prefers." Ashley replied, strangely calm considering how she had been acting. But anyone paying close attention could tell she was forcing herself to maintain it. She patted Alice on the shoulder as she walked inside. " You'll do fine. I didn't want the job either when I got it. Sometime when you get back, we should talk about how you did what ever it was on the roof to reign me in."
Trevor looked at Isamu. " she'll be okay. She always gets this way before the full moon. And I thought you should know that the locking her up was her idea in the first place, not Ty's. He hates doing it."
" Hates doing what?" Ashley asked as she approached.
" Just talking, nosey." Trevor grinned. " He's allowed to do that, you don't have your claws that deep into him."
" Shut up before I put my claws somewhere's else." she snarled, only spurring him to grin. Ashley looked at Isamu. " Are you just going to stand there and let him treat me like this?"

Isamu turns and looks at Ashley first, then towards Trevor, his voice getting gravely, "Trevor, I have asked you before, and this is my last time asking you nicely, LEAVE HER ALONE!"
He turns towards Ashley, "Lets go upstairs. Can you help find me something appropriate for a club," he says hoping to distract her from her growing anger.
