I'm interested, and I've got a concept in mind. However, I can't find the right OCC.
I want to be an inventor. Someone who tries to come up with the craziest gadgets and cutting edge technology. Stuff like taking old sword blades and fashioning them into one of those old-fashioned push mowers. That kind of stuff. But I can't find an appropriate OCC for this. Any suggestions?

Snape I would go Scholar, but will look in tomorrow at work to see if something fits better.
Dragonblaze, as a person going through school the half wizard does not fully fit, unless you were in another job and going into wizard classes now or the likes?

I'm toying with a scholar or noble character right now. The idea of having access to one or two minor powers is intriguing, and I plan on asking you about that on YIM today, Sasq.

Read through the Scholar OCC, and it doesn't have that inventor-type flair I was looking for. But that doesn't matter as I've changed my mind about the OCC I'd like to play.
If possible, I'd like to give the Illusionist PCC (Old Ones, starting on page 18) a shot. If we're in a school, and we are there to learn, and the Illusionist's illusory powers grow with experience...

ok How about a Longbowman (you could make the character into a arcane archer if magic is a prerequisite)

I will look over all of these when I have a chance. Not sure about the dragon as dragons are instinctual, why would they be in a school.

While their general approach to magic/psionics could be considered instinctual, there is the capacity to mould their abilities in a human context, such as specializations as hatchlings towards combat, healing, cooking, etc.
In addition, a dragon attending a humanoid school would learn how to acclimate and adapt to the little mortals. In fact, rather than being intelligent beasts, or uncaring self-aware demons, a dragon can be portrayed as simply being unaware of human norms (like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory), and goes awry in attempts to do what is good, or even normal.
Acclimation through the Academy could teach the dragon the social norms of mortals, as much as any kind of magic specialization.
How he got there is anyone's guess. Maybe he was attracted to the cooking?
