*looks at Trevor again and is thankful that he can't see the eyes fill with unshed tears and then says in a calm voice .. 'i think i'll just go sit over on the rock there .. i got stuff i need to think about now.'
*then turning and not realizing that the pain sounded in the voice at the end, moves away and leaves a slightly puzzled Trevor behind. sitting on the rock, reaches down and picks up a chunk of wood, and like she had said before, starts to sharpen them like a cat would. first on the wood, and then against the rock to get them half dulled with rounded edges again
*sunlight reflects off the trickle of tears. the lips mouth as words are whispered, trying agian to get past the block and to regain the memories. reaching up and over the shoulder, scratches at the funny bumps again, and seems to get some relief as something cracks or breaks. her body half slumps with relief and then a funny look .. 'uhoh .. i don't think thats good. better not say anything. don't wanna be called a baby'
*as she pulls her hand back and looks at the oozy greeny-blue color on the claw and shakes 'nope .. don't think thats good at all. wonder what it means? wonder if Dexy has these? .. trevor? .. help me inside please? .. i .. i ca .. ' *her speach starts to go slow and twist about as her tongue thickins in reacton to the small vial of whatever it was just below her skin's surface. then as Trev's arm comes about her to support her inside, the legs wobble. 'Fel ... ? .. h .. hel ... '

I've got some leverage on MacColter. I know where the bodies are hidden." Jason shrugged with a smirk. " I cut a deal when I walked away to keep my mouth shut in exchange for the suit which isn't supposed to exist. And if things get too ugly, I agreed to stay in reserve. He just has to find me first. Now, if you'll excuse," He gloated, " I've got a date."
" with who?" Tyler asked curiously.
" Alice. Don't worry, we're only going for a movie, and maybe a bite to eat. Couple of hours, tops." Jason replied, trying to releive his brothers concerned look as he rolled for the door.
Tyler only looked at Will, obviously holding back an outburst.
Come on Eric, hit the button. I'm not sure how long this will hold together. Mikey urged Eric, watching his creation.
" Yeah, I could show you around, maybe even go down to the Underground." Trevor started to say before said Maria started acting funny. He helped her inside and towards her room. Ashley met them in the hallway as they passed, followed by Felicia as she left Will, Jason and Ty to talk. Ashley whispered to Fel " What's wrong with her this time?"
" I'll find out." Felicia replied as she followed them into the room. " what's wrong Maria?" spotting the blue green slime. " What the hell is that?"
Everyone heard the throaty roar of a motorcycle overrevving in the front yard. At the same time Fel and Trevor, and Jason and Ty looked at each other and said in stereo. " Dexy's back."

William leaned into Jason. "I'm not McCotler. And a deal with him is not a deal with me. Now talk. Unless you want me to ask Tyler how he so conveniently kept me away from the SCRET office while Mears was blasting it all to hell." He turns to Tyler, getting ready to ask that question, to see if Jason will stick his neck out for him.

" I did no such thing!" Tyler sprung to his feet, obviously ticked at the accusation. " How the hell can you even suggest that!"
Jason motione dhis older brother to calm down. " He's just baiting you. " Jason glared at Will. " I don't owe you squat, and don't have to tell you anything. Now get out of my way."

William chuckles darkly blocking Jason with his leg. "You owe me Alice." He says. "Without me, she'ld be dead right now." He says, leaving the impression that he managed to get her to help in time.
"But, pychological tricks don't work on you, so, I'll give it to you straight. You're the weakest link here, but the strongest to McCotler, and you yourself said you have the dirt on him." He moves his leg so Jason can wheel off. "And I need to know everything."

'it's .. back .. ow .. broke .. ' *the waxy sheen to the face spreads as the body goes limper and half flops onto the bed .. the ooze is now easily seen on the upper back, seeping out from under shirt as she tries to get comfortable on the bed ..* 'tired .. too many bumps ... '
*lifts the head with a lot of effort and the feeble attempts to get up and out of the room fade as the mind retreats again, but the one coherant threat is heard 'save dex .. bumps, hurt ' ... *then nothing else from the stiff form, and other than the ragged breathing could be thought of as dead by the stillness

" TY!" Felicia shouted, echoing through the house, spurring him to leave Jason alone with Will and respond to his better half's call. He questioned Trevor and Felicia and listened to their take on what happened as he studied one of the 'bumps' before placing his hands up under the back of her shirt. " just relax, kiddo. You'll be okay. " He said softly, concentrating.
From the front door, everyone could here Dexy and Ashley squabbling about Ashley beinng left in charge and Dexy not caring, which continued through the house until they reach Maria's room, where Dexy stopped, alook of concer on her face. Ty looked at her quickly. " Do you have bumps like this on your back too?"
Yeah, why?" Dexy questioned.
" I think whoever did this to you put a failsafe in, just in case things went screwy. I'll have to look when I'm done with Maria." He stated matter of factly.
She nodded, setting a picture on Maria's so she could see it. It was of Dexy before she was changed, and a man cloose to ten years older. He looked remarkably like Maria. " When she's okay, we need to talk. I made some calls back home. I think I know why they did this to her, and maybe who's responsible." With that she left the room, leaving the picture.
Jason simply glared at Will. , then sighed in defeat. " allright, allright. you win gramps. I know that MacColter was behind the deaths of a bunch of agents that wanted out. He's got some contract meta killer who goes by the name of the Nullifier who gets his kicks wiping us out. All told, I know Dylin has been using this guy for years to do his dirty work. If I hadn't agreed to shut up and stay on retainer myself, he probably would have sent this guy after me too. I also know that he's done alot of political arm twisting on Capitol Hill to get what he wants. He's been given a free hand and no one will touch him."

William sighs. "Nothing newer than that?" Rubbing his chin, thoughtfully, he says, "You should be happy I don't report to anyone right now." He grins. "Nullifier ir not, he will be a bureaucrat." This possibility makes him grin. "And a clever, but fearful one, if he needs an assassin on retainer." The grin gets bigger. "He would be handling Wraith, though, using Nullifier as his insurance."
William thinks for a moment. "It's kind of ironic, really. None of you use guns, but they'll probably save your life. Especially if Nullifier is involved."
"Alright, thanks, Jason. No need to worry Alice about any of this. If you see Dmitri, tell me everything, but don't approach you. He'll probably approach Alice." And William heads to where Ashley is, leaving Jason to meet up with Alice.
"Ahsley, can we have a word?" He asks, leading her outside. "You as well, Dexandrea, when you get the chance."

Alice reaches around Eric and hits the 'play' button and starts the video. "Sorry Eric," she says with a grin "I just couldn't take the suspense. Besides," she adds "we don't know how much longer Michael's creation will work, so we'd better do this quckly before they are able to find out where we are."

*just knowing the voices of people that she's grown to trust that she's safe .. Maria descends quickly into the darkness that beckons.
once in a while the claws on the fingers flex out with a tightening of total body tightening, and then they vanish, as the body relaxes again.

Ty does his best to to take away Maria's pain, while letting her rest. He nudges the door nearly shut and shoos everyone out to give her some quiet.
" Okay, I won't tell her, but I'm not going to hide anything if asks." Jason replied as he rolled for the door. He looked back with a smirk. " We'll be home by Tuesday. Don't wait up." He rolled into the next room. Ashley and Dexy paseed him and walked in, taking opposite sides of the room. " You wanted to see us?" Ashley asked.
Before Will could answer, , Dexy piped in. " Look, if this is because I'm not here to take orders from her, save your breath geezer. You knew before that my family's not known for being teamplayers."
Ashley simply glared.
After a moment, the file started to play a surveillance video from an office building downtown. Nothing seemed to happen, until the deputy mayor went into one of the open doorways. Again, nothing of interest happened for about five minutes until a young chinese man came out the same doorway. The young man walked towards the camera but stopped short when a mail clerk cut him off. He backed away and let her pass and walked out of the frame.
Wait, back it up. Did you see that? Michael said, reaching for the mouse and rewinding it a bit. Watch his hands
The video began replaying and as the chinese man stopped, his hands braced in front of him passed through the edge of the cart, but he stepped back quickly enough that the clerk didn't notice.

William quietly waits for them to finish before starting. "Well, you'll be pleased to know, Dexandrea, that I'm taking over."
He turns to Ashley and says "I'm sorry, but you don't have the experience yet. I was hoping you could handle it, but you can't. You'll be second in the field, but over all, I'm going to make the calls. Which should be no change, since I've been making them for you for a while."
He turns back to Dexandrea. "You know my reputation as well as Tyler knows me, so you know I do not tolerate stupidity and disobedience. That being said, I do appreciate the extra help you'll bring. Your job will be to keep Maria under control. She is a liability so long as she continues to act the way she does. You have a better chance than the rest of us to do that, if only because of your shared history." William slouches in the chair. "If she can't behave, she's gone." He adds, in a tone of finality.
"Now, tell me, any of you have any information regarding what's been happening over the last few days? Meeting odd or old acquaintances, unusual job offers... from before you met me." He says, cutting Dexandrea off from her obvious answer.

Alice's jaw drops as she watches the tape. She says in wonder "His hands went through the cart. He's a meta, isn't he?" She pauses for a minute before asking "What do you think this means though? That the deputy mayor has metas in his employ?"

Ashley watched Jason leave, her eyebrow cocked as she listened to what Will was saying. She sounded only half serious in her protest, distracted. " but I was only learning how to be in charge."
Dexy huffed. " She's the only reason I'm here anyways. So I can live with that. Just don't push me, and stop calling me Dexandra. It's Dexy."
Tyler Sat up as Maria seemed to be sleeping easier and let himself out of her room, pulling the door shut behind him. He overheard the others andpopped around the corner. He looked at Dexy. " she seems to be resting okay, but I don't understand it. Normally I don't have no prob with poison, but this one is different. Must be genetically tailored or something. I think I've got it slowed enough for her to fight off, and I removed the vial it was contained in. When she's better I'll take out the other." He pointed at Dexy. " You better see me later, just to make sure you aren'rt carrying the same thing."
Ashley looked at Will. " what were you and Jas talking about? Whatever it was, he was lying to you. He always rubs his chin like that when he lies."
I don't know, and why would they want this back so hard? It doesn't prove anything Michael replied watching until the video looped back and started replying. After a few minutes, a knock came on the shed door. Jason asked. " Are we still going Alice? We can go some other time if you want." He tries to hide his disappointment.

"How so?" William asks Ashley. "Are you certain that's the kind of accusation you want to make when you're brother's in the room? I don't think Tyler would want to believe his brother is lieing about our conversation."
"Thank-you for your time, Dexandra." William grins. He's in charge. ;D
