ch. 12 Family Ties

" Looks like its ladies first then. " Trevor repliedas he changed directions down a side street. After a few minutes, he brought the car to a halt in front of her apartment building. " Isamu, you want to go up with alice? I'll keep an eye on things out here and I'll lay on the horn if there's trouble."

Alice nods at Trevor "Sure." She heads up to her apartment, keeping an eye out for anyone who might try to follw them inside the apartment. When they reach her apartment, she checks to see if the door is closed and locked. If it is, she'll go inside and get some clothes. If it's not, she'll look around for anyone who might want to attack them (perception: 16)

The door is locked, but it looks like it has been tampered with judging by the new scratches on the lock. No one seems to be following them.

[Mierin]

Alice turns to Isamu and says "Looks like someone's been visiting when I wasn't home." She then enters her apartment and looks around to see if it's the same or if it's been ransacked. She'll then enter her room and throw as many clothes as she can into a small carry-on suitcase and heads back to Isamu waiting in the living room.

William looks at the road ahead thinking. He hadn't assumed that the meet would be all that complex. Dmitri meets an ex he still has feelings for, and agrees to work with her against a villain that's blackmailing him and that Janey didn't know about. Plus, Janey will find that a) he boyfriend's a mutant, b) Alice is a mutant who's been hiding herself since before Janey met her and c) Alice's grandmother's war-buddy is not the feeble man he appears to be... and is also the guy at the mayor's death.

If Janey does know, things will get harder.

"Janey's the real x-factor here, Ashley. We have to keep in mind that you're Dmitri's ex, and that Janey knows this, so she will be very hesitant to go along with you, so we will need to promote Dmitri's idea." He takes a breath. "I'll hold back, try to be invisible. It'll be hard enough without me being obvious. My real worry is if Janey's Wraith's fall back... or if she isn't Janey anymore."

[dakota]

" You watch Conspiracy Theroy every time it's on, don't you?" Ashley grinned. " Okay, I'll go in and talk to him first. If you want, I'll get him to come outside so you can eavesdrop, in case Wraith has his place bugged." She brought the car to a halt and motioned down the street. "That's it there. wish me luck." She said as she got out, leaving the keys.


Some things were out of place, but Alice's apartment was pretty much as she had left it.

Isamu waits for Alice as she goes through her house inspecting and gathering items together. He says little and seems to be on edge since Alice says it looked like someone had been there.

[Mierin]

Alice smiles gently at Isamu in an attempt to calm him as she comes back into the living room. "I'm almost done," she tells him "I just want to check my messages before we go." She then picks up her phone and dials into her voice mail to see if she has any messages waiting for her.

"As you wish Alice,"Isamu says with a short bow. "It does makes me want to be cautious knowing someone has broken into your home. Do you think they may have broken into my home as well?"

[Mierin]

Alice is silent as she punches in the password to access her voice mail. Finally, she says "I honestly don't know, Isamu. You haven't been involved in this for very long, so I wouldn't think so. But there is a chance someone may have, yes."

There are three messages on Alice's voice mail. One from her mother calling to chat, another from Janey wondering about the creepy old guy from the restuarant and a third from the video store reminding her that her dvd was overdue.

Alice smiles at the message from her mother and sighs at Jane's message. When she hears the message from the video store, she mentally slaps her forehead. She deletes the messages and quickly finds the dvd and puts it back in it's case, figuring she can drop it off during their errands. Smiling at Isamu, she says "Well, we should get going." She lets Isamu leave the apartment first and locks the door behind her and heads back to where Trevor is waiting.

[Dome]

Isamu leaves the apartment first but waits for Alice as she locks the door. He then lets her pass him as they head back towards Trevor and the waiting rental car. He remains silent the entire way.

William decides to take a quick walk around Dmitri's place, shuffling pretty quickly for an old man, looking for cameras, etc that are trained on the place.

Trevor waits patiently drumming his fingers along with the radio on the steering wheel when they get back to the car. He has a big grin on his face as he pops the trunk. " Hey, I got good news. Someone named Mac convinced the hospital that Jason should be placed in a private clinic to recoop under the supervision of his personal doctor. Seems he's making a miraculous recovery. Eric just called, said Ty and Felicia went to get him as soon as she got there and they should beat us back to the firehouse. Tyler thought you might want to know. Oh, no problems I take it?"


The outside of the apartment building seemed clean, but Will knew Wraith was a professional.

After ten minutes, Ashley came out of the apartment building with Dimitri and Janey not far behind, each carrying a book bag. Neither of them looked happy as Ashley trotted ahead and got in." See, you got all paranoid for nothing." when the others approached the car, Janey went to put her things in the trunk and Dimitri knelt down at Will's window and spoke lowly so she wouldn't hear. " I'm doing this only because Ashley convinced me you can protect Jane from Wraith. She doesn't know what we are yet, I intend to tell her once we get there, one surprise at a time."
