Spider-Man keeps the phone at his ear and says "Talk about perfect timing! Where's the event? We'll be right over. And I dooooo mean right over. And we'll have to talk about why you are where you are later..." Once MJ gives him the location, Spider-Man thanks her and hangs up the phone. "So... anyone want to help blow out Pyro's candle?"

When Spidey poses his question, he smirked. " We're all dressed for a party anyways.

Tally not knowing that these are villians is glad to assist where she can. Not being massively strong still she can lift a fair bit. (Extraordinary) Clueless especially she will actually start to chat and make friends where they respond to her.

Hawkeye's team manages to clean up the debris and make their way up to an uptown convention center. the place is already surrounded by police and national Guard, some of whom turn their weapons on the Avengers when they arrive. Songbird flashes her Avengers ID card. "For what it's worth, I'm sure most of us aren't used to being trusted either." She almost cracks a smile. "So, hostage situation? Pyro's holding the whole rally for Osborn for ransom? Sound about right?"
The Police officer in charge nods.
Songbird smiles. "Don't worry, the Avengers are on it." He looks at Hawkeye. "Alright coach - call the play."

Hawkeye tried not to scowl at Songbird. " Cheif, we need a look at the layout of this place. Avengers, all of us, except Aura, has handed Pyro his tail at least a time or two, so I can't see him acting alone in this. Logan, Spiderman, scout around and see if you can find out if anyone else is involved. Songbird, Aura, see what you can from the air, maybe we'll get lucky and you can get a peek inside or find us a way in from upstairs. X-23, Daredevil, see if you can get in through the back, but don't engage unless you have to. I'll see what kind of plan I can put together from what the cheif has and the rest of you find. Say in contact, we don't need any freelancing for the papers that have to be crawling all over this story."

X-23 and DD make their way through the backdoor, where they find two bodyguards asleep - both of you can smell that they were dosed with some kind of high-caliber tranquilizer gas. Wolverine and Spider-Man make it to the roof. Wolverine can also make out traces of a tranquilizer gas, but not one he recognizes immediately. The two of you can see through the skylight. Beneath you is a large dining area before a stage and podium. The entire building outer perimeter is surrounded by a ring of flame, forcing the crowd to huddle in the middle. On the stage, you see Pyro, as he has kicked Osborn on his back.  "Now now mates, no need to get hot under the collar. Just stay bright and stay cool." The pyrokinetic mutant smirks. |

Waiting on the others to report back that they had found something out, Hawkeye turned and looked at Josten, something clearly bothering him. " What the hell were you doing in a place like that anyways? Or have you decided to go back to your old ways?"
