'you know . . at a time like this, i'ld sure love my coat'

*she says little other than turning her gaze to her brother, 'who did you cross this time? you big dummy . . . ' *she settles into the chair and holds his hand and strokes it like he did to her when she was burnt. she knows enough not to cry aloud, but tears slip down the face as she glances about the room. her worst fear has become reality now. she can only hope she can do the watch over and protect him as needed.

with her brother being in the room with all sorts of equipment and gadgets, her mind has already disected a few things and rea ssembled them into weapons for skirmishing to protect him. no one has ever asked if she knew how to protect herself, but she has trained with a few people. she hasn't been called to 'teach the kids', but then her's is a hodgepodge of styles geared to flatten if she's holding a heavy tool.

*she gets the fire extinguisher and settles it on the bed then settles into the chair, seemingly 'alseep' as she bends over their joined hands

Tiger looks to Dante, "Do what you can tonight, but hold back half your strength so you'll be able to stand guard and so you'll have some ability left for tomorrow. Bel should be rested by then."

Akane hears most of what is being said, but decides will work it out as she goes, as she has no means of harnessing the others then leaning on them. But also as the wheels turn, that if there seems to be no witnesses maybe working seperated from the rest might lure the individual out. Still best place to start is to find Tiger.

With that thought she heads to where Tiger is and asks when free, "I think I am going to hunt for the individual alone. If you could tell the investigators that. As that will serve being alone and if it is an internal thing that happened they may seek out to take me as next victim or alone may attract them still if they are not part of the team here into still attacking."

Khris glanced out the window at the next building," I'll take up position, but tomorrow I think it might be better if I cloak and hide in the room, just in case trouble does come looking. There's no point in me trying to investigate if all the agecies will be on it. Of courdse that's JC's call after yours, Tigger." He used Jeckle's real name so she knew he truly was concerned

He left the room after patting Jeckle onthe shoulder. He headed across the street, ducked out of sight and scaled up the side of the building. Taking up a position where he could watch the room by using his sensing powers to focus on Bel and Dante, he made himeself comfortable much as he had in his freelance sniper days, ready to wait on a target to present itself.

Tiger says goodnight to Jeckle, "Don't worry. We will keep watch."

She is anxious, and not just about Jeckle's brother but the trials due to start soon. She leaves Jeckle with her brother and posts an Army guard outside the door. Then she too climbs a roof, to take a nap while waiting for her own shift after Kris, but she can't sleep and ends up sitting on the roof looking down at the hospital building.

This is where Akane finds her. Tiger listens to what Akane has to say. "Your proposal is to look for the gunman by yourself? Akane, you have many gifts. You're a valuable member of the team. Don't you watch horror movies? Wandering off alone is usually when somebody dies. If I gave you that assignment and you turned up dead, I wouldn't feel very good about it. And the rest of the team might wonder why I was so carefree with your life after I just told Dante and Kris - who have been Jeckle's friends for years - to stand down."

"When we arrived, I asked you to accompany Dancer, Dante and Bel. If you had followed my orders you would have been first on the scene. I'm not opposed to getting you involved. And, I don't think investigating on your own will yield any leads. Pick a partner to back you up or assist one of the other investigating organizations. I've hunted assassins before. You'll need forensics, interviews, and possibly a special ability or two to find one or two shooters on a base full of metas. Take a moment to think about your strengths and what areas you are lacking in. Tell me your ideas and I'll give you suggestions as to who you can work with."

*the early years Jeckle lived were odd. her sleeping patterns were upside down. insanely long hours awake and when sleep came, it was like she died and wouldn't wake up for long periods of time.

Her brother would always find a way to sneak out of hte 'home' and arrive to sleep in the room with her and hold her hand as she slept. his was the one constant in the long 'pain'.

She can finally return the favor and sits and waits quietly. any noise at the door or in the room as the eyes shift to observe the shadows at the door. anytime the handle moves, the fire extinguisher is in her hand as she preps a ~whack~.

knowing that Heckle will slumber for a long time, and that she isn't alone this time. she closes the eyes and rests her head on the bed next to his hand. the other holds the fire extinguisher. it looks more like she's using that to aid in the balance now

Making an odd face at the mention of Horror movies as never before has she watched such thing and then listening to the berating of Tiger, Akane just decides that she can not be at fault entirely as the attack may have still have happened but she may have had more to track.

Still listening to someone who is asking for her strengths is odd as she hired her on for what she can do even though due to current circumstance none of those talents are being used. Believing outright that this is almost the best way to go and will be simply overided, she decides to play along.

"I am a demon hunter, even humans who do such things act like demons. There fore I plan on tracking the individual using the magic at hand as well as my skills and catch him."

Tiger says, "Listen, maybe that came out wrong. Long day. I want you to track whoever did this. All I'm saying is you should take someone with you to watch your back."

Akane responds, "Very well." And turns to the rest there, "Normally I work along, but if any wish to come then so be it. I will be leaving," Reaching around and realizing she is carrying most everything she owns, "Well meet me at the scene of the crime. We will go from there!"

When Akane arrives at the crime scene, she sees crime tape. There is a single soldier keeping watch some distance away, but she can sense the place is under heavy surveillance from hidden watchers.

A man steps out from the shadows (shadow meld) says, "Miss Aiko?" He is wearing SCRET body armor under a bulky black coat.

The next morning at sunrise, while the kids are practicing before the division one trials start, the doctor, Bel and Dante gather in Heckle's room for some more healing.

Tiger and Kris remain outside, concealed and watchful.

It doesn't take long for Heckle's body to be healed, but he is slow to wake up. Finally he comes around. "He is going to be groggy and disoriented," the doctor warns. "He lost a great deal of blood and though he is physically doing much better," the doctor glances at Dante and Bel clearly appreciative of their powerful healing abilities, "his mind was likely shut down during the trauma. Even if he bounces back completely he isn't going to remember yesterday very well. Go easy on any questions for him. Make him comfortable."

"Aaaugh," Heckle says. He looks around and spots Jeckle. His face brightens and he says, "I must have messed up bad if they brought you here."

Khris was stewing as he held his vigil. He held no weapons even though he had considered it. He finally broke the silence, trying to keep the edge from his voice," I promised Jeckle I'd help find her brother, but not like this. Why do I feel like I let her down?"

'you goof. yeah, they brought me in just for you. just rest now, i've got the keeping the monsters at bay this time . . k? i gotta pay you back somehow for when i was younger . . and helpless in a bed'

*she gives a smile that hides the worry and to put Heckle at ease. she knows that he won't talk about anything that happened in front of strangers, but now? . . maybe not even in front of her either.

*she reaches for some water and sniffs it first, trying to pick up on any odd smells from it. sensing nothing odd about it, she offers the bent straw for him to drink from

Akane turns tot he man giving him a quick scan and a nod to acknowledge his question. She notices that almost everyone is wearing armour here. Something she never cared for herself.

The SCRET agent smiles, "Some UN officer said you'd be by to check things out. So, what do want to know?"
