Jeckle gives White the classic raised eyebrow, then sighs and carefully takes back the rifle case and sets it on the ground and then starts with the 'regular guns are . . ' and then compares the two. 'this one differs from the norm with the following modifications . . . '
*she goes into detail about the new ammunition for it. 'these shells are Red Jackets. they pack a harder punch and they have a much higher tissue damage ration than normal shells . . '
*she then gives a demonstartion of the prone shooter position and the line up. 'i think that i'll let you try with 2 red jackets and 5 regular Rock. you might feel the difference . . then again, you might not . . ' *she gets to the feet, slips the safety on and then hands him the rifle and some goggles for his eyes and disposable earplugs for him and White. 'k . . i'm look out . . have fun guys' *that said, she backs up about 10 feet and leans against some outcropping of rock to watch them 'play'

"I mean I just don't get it. Usually an army takes troops, as many as they can get, and then trains them to fight, then sends them to fight. Instead, we are having a competition? I mean it makes no sense if you ask me. We're wasting time having an Olympics when we should be training them to fight and then going to stop these things."
Dante looks around, Bel can tell he is obviously frustrated, "we have heard no news about the demons in months, instead everyone is focused on these stupid competitions, with even the possibility that one team will attack another. To have a winning candidate. It just makes no sense at all. I'm no genius but I consider myself at least fairly intelligent, and I just don't see the point."

Wandering around and even meditating, Akane finds a few brash heroes approach her on occasion. Most of the ordinary people and soldiers look her over but leave her be. The people who approach her tend to be more than a little confident_ typically they are megas of considerable power trying to find out if she too is in the division one trials.

White coaches Rock through a few magazines. Rock is thrilled. None of Tigers training involved firearms and the kid is clearly excited to train with a real soldier like the retired Lt. After a while White takes the gun and tries a few shots himself. Then he grunts appreciatively at Jeckle and carefully shows Rock how to dissassemble and clean the weapon. Once its clean he makes Rock clean it again for practice and its time to head back to the barracks.
"Did you spot a good meeting place on our way here? Or should we take a different route back?" White asks Jeckle.

Bel gives Dante a hug. "Its terrible to train and play games while people are suffering. Tiger might now more of the details, or maybe its classified, but it seems to me like half the point of these trials is too use up time while scientists scramble to build effective weapons. The other point would be to sort out the potential warriors to make sure we send the best. Since they are still building weapons there will probably be a shortage. Maybe they want to be sure the few weapons they'll have won't be wasted. I agree with you though, all the candidates are top notch. Its stupid not totrain the whole lot of them."

Akane almost wishes she was part of the trials to give her something, but alas she knows that is not the road that is set before her. To them she would probably be a more powerful human but not even in the same league as they are. Still seeing they stay out of her way she continues along her way of practice of her own skills and abilities. Especially when it comes to her skills and magical prowess.
More or less she attempts to use her skills against the wilderness, even taking days at a time to live off the land using her skills only.

'had a glimpse at one that was secluded, but we need to see it from another angle. other than that? . . nothing really stands out. so . . did you have fun Rock?'
*her mouth gives a half smile as the eyes resume the searching as they stand there and then head off on another tour and she finally finds a spot that she likes that is secluded but easy to cover if you know the area. her memory makes mental recolections about he immediate area for additional security measures

Rock nods and helps them look around the various sites, though he isn't really sure what they are looking for.

Akane finds the Alaskan wilderness to be peaceful and beautiful. Even close to the base a few wild animals can be seen.

Not wanting to disturb the wilderness or her teammates Akane decides to spend the time researching in her books any myths or along those lines relating to anything of interest out here. Even if it is evil or good, some thing to keep herself occupied during these times.

Jeckle finds the ideal spot for the meeting and points it out to them. 'there. private enough that eavesdroppers will be seen, but open enough to look like we just happened on each other. don't want people to think that it was actually arranged. just a couple of old friends catching up on old times.
'don't ask kid, its rude to ask a female how old they are. but i'm mentally ancient i guess just body youngish' *ruffles Rock's hair and motions for them to continue on their way.

White nods at Jeckle's assessment and looks around to pick potential places for a lookout.
Rock is practically skipping as they return to the barracks, clearly enjoying himself.

'relax kid. yer makin me feel positively ancient now . . . and all i did was stand about while you played shoot the gun' *she shakes her head slightly as her eyes take in the various people watching and moving about.
*to White 'no word on the red's . . k? don't need people nosing about the ammo looking. and certainly wanna stay wide of the DoD aquisitions teams.
