Alice nods at Jason, "I'll give him a call." Assuming it is all right with her parents, Alice goes into the kitchen to call Dylin.

"Go ahead, Allie." Dad said with a nod, apparently buying in to their story. As a distraction, Jason tried the air conditioner that dad had been working on, and when it didn't start, her parents got in a bit of a chew and took it outside so they wouldn't be heard.
As Dylin answered " Hello?", Jason entered the kitchen, laying a small tube fuse in Alice's hand, loooking very much like one from an Air Conditioner.

Alice is concerned at the thought of her parents fighting a lot and looks at the small tube fuse and then at Jason, not understanding the significance of it as she says "Hello Dylin, it's Alice. Jason and I saw a piece on the news about Trevor. Should we be coming back to the US?"

"Hello alice, didn't expect to hear from you two." Mac said, clearly on his cellphone. " I'm not at the house at the moment, had to catch a flight out to attend to some business. Isamu is in charge, so I don't know what he has in mind. I do know Ashley wants to help since she and Trevor are close. I'm suprised at your concern, considering the two of you were not on the greatest of terms when he took his leave."

Alice sighs and it's clear to both Jason and Mac that Alice was both hurt and angry by that comment. "Just because we weren't best friends when he left doesn't mean that I'd just turn my back on him when something like this happens. Furthermore, he and I had begun to mend fences and Alison was helping me understand my psychic abilities better." Alice has to fight from yelling and keeps her voice quiet so her parents can't hear her.

Jason just looked Alice, and swallowed before glancing to see if anyone else was coming into the kitchen. when he saw there wasn't, he motioned to his eyes and whispered "You're glowing"
Dylin cleared his throat. " I didn't mean quite like that, Alice. I won't tell you to cut your vacation home short, even if I expect Jason is driving your parents foolish. That is your decision to make. I do have some bad news for you though. Janie is still having some issues since she was hurt, and sha and Dmitri have decided to move to Seattle to help set up a new regional team there and get a fresh start. I know the two of you are close, so I thought I had better tell you."

Alice sighs and closes her eyes, doing her best to control her temper. She is sad when she hears that Jane is leaving and simply says, "Thank you for telling me." Alice then passes the phone to Jason and then checks to make sure her eyes aren't glowing any more by checking the nearest reflection and then heads into the living room where her family is.

both of Alice's parents were looking at her as she entered the living room. "Alice," her mother asked," what's wrong? you look upset."
Dad added, " Was your friend that badly hurt?"

Alice forces a smile as she replies, "He's going to be ok. I just hate that there's nothing I can do to help." Alice adds, "Plus I found out Jane, you probably remember me talking about her, is moving away to Seattle." Alice doesn't have to pretend to be sad as she adds, "She got a job there and while I'm happy for her, I'm really going to miss her."

"sounds to me like bad timing for your visit." Mother replied with a sad smile.
"Alice, you're not a doctor. There's nothing you could do for your policeman friend anyways." Dad added.
Grandmother scoffed," She could be there like good friends and family should be." she had a knowing look as she spoke, even winking at Alice. " Your father just wants to keep Jason around to cart his drunken tail home."

Alice nods at her father and says, "Yeah, I know. I still think there is something I should be doing to be supportive." She smirks at her grandmother and chuckles weakly. "Yeah, that might be part of it."

"Now don't you two start teaming up on me." Alice's father warned, shaking his finger towards Alice despite a smirk.
After a moment, Jason came back in the room, his mood somber. He didn't say anything but when Alice looked his way, he shook his head slightly. He took a seat , " Guess things never change back home. Always something going on." He waited for Alice to look his way again before tapping his temple and nodded.
At the same time, Grandmother's voice barged into Alice's mind ... For pete's sake, I know what it is you are really doing in Miami, your boytoy's mind gave that away. If your teammates are in trouble while you're lollygagging here, you'll never live with yourself if something bad happen. I know her voice trailed off.

Alice just smirks at her dad, knowing that he's not actually upset or anything. Alice glances over at her grandmother at hearing her voice in her head and sighs. "Not sure there is much I can do even if I was there." Alice tries to read Jason's mind as she says this.

"There's always something you can do." Alexandra replied.
Touching Jason's mind, Alice could tell he wanted to help back in the states, but was having the same doubts as to how to do it, as well as not wanting to ruin Alice's visit home

Alice nods quietly at her grandmother as she replies, "I guess so." When she scans Jason's thoughts, Alice is glad to learn he feels the same way that she does. However, since her parents don't know she has that ability, Alice asks him, "What do you want to do?"
