Dad smiled," I bet. Probably the same as when your mother asks my opinion on things after she's already made a decision." He chuckled, until he heard the door open , and turned to see Alice's mom standing there with a less than amused look.

Alice rolls her eyes at her father and says, "Jason is visiting here, not me. I'll let him put his input in on what he wants to do." When she sees her mother, Alice thinks "Uh-oh, dad's in trouble.'

"You were supposed to wait until I was back before you started taking things apart." Mom scolded.
" I only took the panels off and looked," dad replied quickly. " I didn't take anything apart yet. Alice was here, she can attest to that."
Mom sighed, setting down the shopping bag. " Why do I bother." She turned and walked to the kitchen.
"Go talk to your mum." Dad said, retreiving the bag. " maybe you can smooth things over a bit."

Alice raises an eyebrow and shrugs. "I'll try. No promises though."
Alice walks into the kitchen and asks her mother, "Would you like some tea, Mom?" If she does, Alice will start to fill the kettle to make some.

"Yes dear, please." Mom replied, in a bit of a huff as she rooted through the fridge for something. "Your grandmother chuckled something about needing to put rabbit snares around her house. Any idea what she was talking about?" mom asked with a knowing smirk. " You be careful, young lady, going to school with a little one at home is not easy. I'm not flying in every time you get stuck for a sitter."

Alice flushes a bright red colour as she says, "Mother!" Mumbling, she adds, "We are careful." Alice then puts some tea in the tea pot and waits for the water to boil before pouring the water into the tea pot.

Alice's mother burst out laughing at Alice's reaction. " Oh my, so easy to get a rise out of you." She took a moment before continuing," But seriously, I don't want to interfere because the two of you seem happy and I'm sure you've thought things through. Have you considered a date, or where you're having the wedding?" Mom was clearly getting excited.
"Simmer down, child. You'll scare her back to the States already." Alexandra appeared at the back door, looking recharged after her brief rest. "Let's just enjoy her visit. I'm sure she won't be staying as long as we like."

Alice shakes her head at her mother, her cheeks still red as she replies, "No, we haven't really talked about any specifics yet." She is glad to see her grandmother again and asks her, "Would you like some tea, Grams?"

"No thank you, Alice, I had one when I woke up." Her grandmother replied, taking a seat at the table. " I do think I would like to make one last trip to America before I'm too old to do so. And those weddings on television where they hold the ceremony on the beach always seem so lovely."
"Oh, I think I walked in on the wrong conversation," Jason said, still a bit groggy as he retreated back to the living room with Alice's father. Both mom and grandmother giggled at his reaction.

Alice smirks at Jason's comment and chuckles as well. She shrugs as she pours some tea for herself and her mother. "We really haven't talked about details yet."

"That's good." Mother said. " There's no reason to rush after all. Both of you are still young."
" Alice." Jason raised his voice from the other room, his tone concerned," you might want to see this." It was evident Jason had turned the television on.

Alice looks in the direction of Jason's voice and then says to her mother and grandmother, "Excuse me please." She then get sup and heads into the living room with her tea to see what was going on.

As Alice walked in, Jason was standing watching the television, a story from Miami about a manhunt for a young mutant arsonist who two police officers had been burned while trying to apprehend last night. Jason turned and looked at Alice," It's Trevor."
"Who's Trevor?" Mother asked, having followed Alice.
Jason covered up quickly," One of the officers hurt. He's a friend of mine."
Alice's parents seemed to buy it, but Alexandra was scowling, seeing through Jason's lie apparently.

Alice looks calmly at Jason, despite how nervous she is feeling on the inside. "Should we cut our trip short?" she asks him, "I'm sure Trevor could use our support."

"I bet he can." Jason replied. " Why don't we call Dylin? He'll know how Trev's doing. " He glanced at the clock. " Would they even be up yet? I can't keep the time change straight."
Alice's mother chuckled," It's about 9AM in Miami. We keep a clock in the hallway set so I know when it's safe to call Alice."
