"Who might have found us?" Trevor asked, more capable on his feet but still needing some assistance. As they hid in the underbrush, Long could see the SWAT units had dispersed around the bait shop. A few of the faces he caught glimpses of were familiar, but none were exactly what he would call friends. He did however know the voice that suddenly boomed over a megaphone," TREVOR MITCHELL. SURRENDER AND GIVE YOURSELF UP. YOU HAVE NO WHERES TO RUN. COME OUT PEACEFULLY." SWAT Commander Paulson ordered. Long knew Paulson was straightlaced and keen on following orders. And a real hardass.
"How do they know I'm..., Trevor was backing away," You called them! You set me up. Sonuva, I should never have trusted you!" He kept his voice hushed despite betrayed undertones.

"Yes. I did call my superiors, but it was for your own good, and only as a witness. I was hoping to get you some medical attention. Besides, I do not think that these are them. I called them less than 20 minutes ago. There is no way possible that they could get this many men out here already. Also, I never told them your name. How could they know that you are the witness I was talking about? I think we are on our own for this one. I promise not to try to call in again. Come on. Let us get out of here. Can you walk on your own? Are you still getting dizzy?"

"I'll make it far enough to get away from these guys." Trevor said in disgust. " You led them right to us. I told you .... there's stuff going on that you don't understand here." He was still backing away.
Commander Paulson called out again," OFFICER FU, IF YOU CAN HEAR ME, I NEED YOU TO SURRENDER YOUR PRISONER AND COME OUT NOW. MAKE THIS EASY ON YOURSELF."
Trevor only gave Long a hard scowl.

As we make our way away from the fishing shacks very carefully Long whispers to Trevor, "So tell me about this stuff going on that I do not understand. Why did they want to frame you for killing Alison?" [If you need a roll for prowl [dice=100]][rand=346839429362902244234668198571133035584585608351769478267114495716]

Trevor couldn't help but laugh," So now you care what is going on? You should have looked into that before you went undercover with a bunch of superpowered criminals. But why set me up is easy. Allison," he paused and swallowed hard," was Raig and Panek's sister and used to be a member of the Brethren as well. We got together and she chose being with me over staying with the gang. They resented me for it, so this is the ultimate way to get back at me."
As they made some distance, from the shacks, they could hear the SWAT team dispering and going through the buildings, but hadn't noticed thier escape.
Trevor warned," They'll probably use dogs soon. I hope you have a plan until my head clears enough to get us out of here."

Long has a bit of an annoyed expression. "I have been caring about this stuff the whole time. I was, however, focused on other things just recently. Like keeping you alive. And I did do research on the gang, or as much was possible. There is not much to begin with." After thinking a little bit, "When we get a good distance away from them we will start walking through the water. And then in a wide circle we will double back and start heading for town. Do you know how those guys got over here so quickly? Did they intercept the call I made to 911? If that is not the real police how does that one look and sound just like my Commander Paulson?"

"Sure, they got a huge head start while you were nursemaiding me, your call just told them to stop here on the way out to the camp." Trevor replied. "Never been able to prove it, but Tyler, the guy who owns the cabin, thinks the Brethren have connections and thats how they stay out of the police's spotlight." He stumbled a bit, but caught his footing. "We'll never outrun these guys unless you have some tricks up your sleeve."

"Climb on my back. We can move a lot faster that way." After he climbs on Long starts running flat out for as long as possible. Then he gets in the shallow water and in a very wide circle doubles back towards Miami. "But how do those guys look just like the police? Especially that one guy that looks just like Commander Paulson."

"Umm, because they really are cops?"Trevor replied sarcastically." Don't you get it, you've been hung out to dry too. Odds are your old pals back there think we're buddies and you're in on it. Face it, your life would be a whole lot simpler if you hadn't broke cover."

Long starts to slow down a bit. "So how did they know your name? I never told them."

Trevor sighed. " Are you really that naive? Jeez man. You didn't have to. It's called a set up. Rusty fed them my name and someone who knew you were undercover in the Brethren filled in the rest. Congratulations, you've been branded a dirty cop," Trevor laughed, but it was cut short by the howl of a bloodhound in the distance.

"That's our cue to get in the water." Long makes sure to stay in the shallows. [He can't swim.] He tries to go in a different direction. Let's start that wide circle to double back here.

after a few minutes, Long could feel Trevor grip was getting heavier yet his grip was slipping. He hadn't said anything for a few minutes now.
The dogs were quite a ways off, and the going was somewhat easy going for trudging through a swamp, except for the occasional hole that was up to his waist.

"Trevor? Are you still awake? Damn, we really got to get you medical attention. Fugitive or no fugitive." [BTW, how far out are we from civilization anyways?]

"I'm awake." Trevor said drowsily," just trying to rest enough to clear my head so I can get us out of here. We need a heavy blanket or something you can wrap yourself up in."
[OOC: itwas a couple hours drive to get there)
