Rafael looked at Long skeptically. " Good thing. Your in it deep, bud. Anyone who has any contact is supposed to report in to Internal Affairs immediately. " He looked at Trevor," You must be the firebrand mutie the news is talking about."
"We prefer the term metas, but yeah, that's me." Trevor replied.
"Sorry." Raf replied, turning his attention back to Long," What do you need, bud? ain't got much cash, and you know I can't give you my piece, but anything else I can is yours."

"First we need the shower. We have been trudging through the swamp. We might also need to borrow a change clothes. And, if it is ok, Trevor probably needs to lie down for a bit. He got hit on the head pretty good."

"I'm fine." Trevor protested despite still not overly steady on his feet.
"Uh huh" Raf nodded. "Grab a shower. I'll see if I can find something to fit you. Oh, and there's leftover pizza in the fridge, but paws off the Bud." He turned and headed into the bedroom.
Trevor looked at Long and shrugged," I'm fine. Really."

"All right. If you insist. But, at least take some more ibuprofen. If you do have a concussion it might hold down the swelling in your brain. And you take the shower first."

" What brain?" Trevor joked. "If I had one of those, I wouldn't have dragged you into this mess." His face went serious. " Fine, but don't let me sleep long, I still need a shower before we go meet Ashley."
As Trevor laid down on the couch, it gave Long time to clean up. When he came out, Raf was in uniform, and getting ready to leave. " Gotta get in, partner. Try not to clean me out, and don't let the neighbors see you on the way out, okay? Oh, you need a clean phone?" He tossed his cell to Long. " but you owe me for any long distance." Raf smirked. " And you owe me for the drool stains your friend is leaving on my cushions."

"I absolutely do."
After Rafael leaves Long gets in the shower. Then changes clothes. Hopefully Rafael has got something that will fit. Probably a t-shirt, sweat pants, and flip-flops and then sets up the same thing for Trevor. Long goes to wake up Trevor.
"Hey. It is your turn to get in the shower. I already got some clothes out for you. And then we should go."
Long eats half of what ever leftover pizza is in the fridge with a glass of water.

Long's partner left after a fist tap and a grin. " Stay away from the downtown okay? I don't want to be the one that has to pick up you up." After a laugh, he was off.
Raf's clothes were baggy enough that they fit both Long and Trevor when he got out of the shower. Grabbing a slice of pizza and a coke, Trevor looked at Long. " So, you come up with a plan while I passed out?" He sounded better with the power nap.

"Pretty simple, really. We meet up with your friend Ashley. We convince her and whatever teammates she has that we are innocent of the crimes we are accused of, and then we all go get Rusty, Deth, and Denial together."

"Oh, is that all? " Trevor chuckled. " And what do we do after lunch?" He stopped, judging Long's expression," You're serious, aren't you? Look, I've crossed paths with the Brethren plenty of times, and it's not as easy as you think."

"I did not say it was going to be easy. It probably will not even happen all at once. These are going to be some epic battles. And there are many different little strategies and plans we will have to come up with along the way to be able to execute the overall goal, but essentially that is the plan."

Trevor nodded, looking at the last peice of pizza," Should we take some back for our guest? Look, if it's any consolation, you've at least got things in order. We'll have to take Deth first, because he's the only one that knows what Denial looks like. The guy has never shown himself as far as I know."

"Yeah. I suppose we should. We cannot have him telling people that we treated him badly. But, getting Rusty is an absolute must. Getting Deth and Denial is important because it is my job and my original mission, but with Rusty it is personal. As it is with you I am sure. Come on. Let us get out of here. If we are caught here Rafa will be in just as much trouble as we are."
Long starts peeking out of every window in the place to see if there might be anybody sneaking around.

Despite his paranoia, no one seemed to pay much attention to the two men leaving the apartment building. when they reached the car, Trevor hit the trunk release and pulled Panek out. " Okay bud, here's the deal. as much as I want to gut you like a dead fish, my new friend here will probably try to stop me.. and we are going to need your insight on how to handle the Brethren. Are you willing to work with us?"
Panek nodded, " Anything you want. I want to help bring them down after what has happened."
Trevor looked at Long before handing over the pizza and soda.

"Get in the car while you eat. You can ride in the back seat this time. There are some people that we all need to go see. Some friends of Trevor's. When we get there Trevor and I need to convince them that we are innocent of the crimes you and the Brethren have pinned on us. That is why you are going to confess to them, but if you beg a lot and maybe cry a little bit they might not lock you up for eternity. You might even be able to come with us to get Rusty, Deth, and Denial. And, of course, to find your brother. You will confess the whole and complete story and any other information that you have concerning the Brethren. And, I do mean everything in excruciating detail up to and including Rusty's menstruation cycle if we ask for it."
Long gets in the car and starts it up.

Panek hesitated, then climbed in the back of the car," I'll do whatever you need me to. I'll even play bait to draw them out."
" That's not a bad idea." Trevor smirked, looking at Long as he climbed in the passenger seat." Head for the coast, the others live right on the beach."
Panek groaned, as if he knew exactly where they were headed.
