Vol 2 Ch7: Just Another Day at the Office (B&C)

" Word of mouth is the best way to keep this to as few people as possible, in meetings like this." Coop replied. He looked at Tobrias for agreement as he answered, " I think it might be better if you went to the hospital. Last thing we need is this information to be sent over to the wrong person and this get leaked to the media."

Tobrias seemed more like he was awaiting instruction from Coop than wanting to give them. Eleutheroi look at the interchange. "Maybe it is genetic, then." He smirks.

Moltavious simply sat there, looking like he could sleep until the summer.

[dakota]

" Moltavious, go home until you've recovered, will you? You look ready to pass out." Coop said to the elder Lockhart. " We can discuss this more when we don't have to worry about you dozing off. Tobrias, " he turned his attention to the Guildmaster," you must have something that needs to be taken care of that I can handle with El's help. I can't just sit here."

Moltavous barely stirred at the mention of his name.

"Patience is, of course, always important." Tobrias answered, calmly. "Though, there is something you will need to do."

Eleutheroi grins. "If we film it, we could get my brother to write a power-ballad for the montage."

"Is that everything to report, Miss Abramson?" Tobrias asked.

[albatross]

"Yes, sir." Bianca says cheerfully. "If you'll excuse me, I'll head to the hospital now." She stands ready to leave, starting to regret researching through the night - though at least she doesn't feel as bad as Moltavious.

[dakota]

" Film what? " Coop said, before giving Eleutheroi a concerned look. " A montage? What are you two scheming on me" He turned to Bianca and nodded, "Thanks, I appreciate you taking care of this for me."

He looked at Moltavious, then nudged him with a finger," Mr. L, are you okay?" He looked at Tobrias," Can someone take him home so Mrs. L can look after him?"

(Coop)

"Well. We need to make a statement. Also, training montages are important. And its best to get the footage now, and not wait until the media and populace ask for the biography of their golden child." Eleutheroi says, smirking danergously.

"I'll be fine." Moltavious answered calmly. "I'm here to help you craft the press release about the hotel. But thanks for the concern."

"Yes. The hotel..." Tobrias says. "Thank-you Miss Abramson."

(Bianca)
As she leaves, Bianca sees a military man walking up to the office. He'ld been there before, and looked to be on more bureacratic business. He entered the office.

"Well, Miss." Says Thoren. "We'ld better get you safely to the hospital. Remember what the Guildmaster said. If you have questions, any at all, come back with them. You may have trouble finding what you need, so, if you can, follow both bloodlines: Cooper and Golayus. Yes?"

(Coop, again)
Col. Holia entered the room with a briefcase shortly after Bianca left. "Hello all. Thank-you for having me back." He nodded to Coop in particular. "The military brass are appreciative of their position, so it is now safe to brief the public. I am here to facilitate that."

"Of course. Take a seat, everyone." Tobrias says to everyone standing. Eleutheroi moved next to the door but stayed standing. Does he ever sit? Holia took a seat as well. "Mr. Cooper, is there anything you need reminding of?"

"Right," Bianca agrees, "Both bloodlines." She looks at the address on the hospital records permission form, unsure of where it it. "So where is the hospital? Will I need a hotel reservation?"

Thoren looks quizically at Bianca. "The hospital is in the West End of the city. I doubt you will need to stay anywhere but your own home." He answers.

[dakota]

Coop chuckled at Bianca. " They don't let her out much, do they?" His good mood sunk a bit as Holia returned. He decided to humour the soldier and forced himself to be pleasant," Why don't you refresh all our memories? We have quite a few things on the go right now." He didn't need a refresher, but he was curious on how the military had twisted things.

Being uncareful with what Coop wished for, Holia gave a factual, exhausting and apparantly accurate recount of the situation, including what they had already covered and new updates. Moltavious looked displeased at having to sit through this. The new items included that 3 of the 5 generals for the defence of Golthereia, plus 5 colonels and 2 captains were involved. Two of the indicted generals agreed to the reduced sentence and dishonourable, public discharge and other such conditions as removing all public-service-linked activities, etc. The third general has been formally charged with treason, being the one responsible, as have all the colonels and captains, who indicated they did this of their free will and not thorugh orders. Temporary promotions have been accorded to fill the gaps. With these military matters settled, court martials will begin, including using the police, military and selected Guild footage on the crime and summoning activities. With this handled, then, it fell to the Decree Slayer to make the announcement of the success and to publicize the events in the hotel, bearing in mind that undue attention to military involvement would cripple the defense of the city, making Golthreia an undue target to external forces, and that privacy of the Lockheart family should be maintained.

Tobrias confirmed that Rozatonosky would be on side for Coop's decisions on what information to release to the public.

Arriving at the hospital's information desk, a woman in a hospital admin uniform looked up. "Yes? Can I help you?"

[Bianca]

"Yes," Bianca said brightly, "My name is Bianca Abramson and I'm researching a medical history." She produces the required paperwork. "I will need to see the files for these two individuals." She produces one for Golayus girlfriend and her son, duly signed by their ancestor Mr. Cooper.

Bianca holds a clipboard and is dressed in a grey suit. She looks exactly like one would expect a researcher to look, right down to her posture. Mostly due to the fact that she is a researcher...

The woman takes a look at these, furrowing her brow. "Isn't this the guy from the news conference?" She asks.

(also, FYI: I'm a researcher, and I look geek chic. So... nya!)

[Coop]

" Great, another press conference." Coop muttered under his breath as Holia finished up. He cleared his throat. " Alright, so let's whip up another speech that doesn't tarnish the military's image. We don't have to name names, just give a statement as to what happened and that the citizens of Goltheria can rest easy once again." He looked at Moltavious for a reaction. " We'll keep things genaric, the media doesn't need any names."

"New conference?" Bianca asks questioningly. "I didn't see the news, late night..." She explained.

"Where do you keep your files? What system do you use?" Bianca asks cheerfully, her mind clearly focused on her job and not on press conferences.
