By the time she makes it to the ground floor, Sarah discovers she has something about the weight of an 8-yr-old attached to her. "Momma says you might be leaving soon! But you're not allowed!" She says.

Sarah can't help but grin as she looks down at Edeline. "I'm not?" she asked, with laughter in her voice. "How come?"

"Because!" Edeline says. "I nursed you back to health and stuff... You're not allowed to go!"

Sarah smiles and kneels down and hugs Edeline. "I know you did. I'll always be grateful for that. But I do have a mom and dad who will be worried about me if I disappear and never come back. Besides," she continues "I can always come and visit you and you can come and visit me." She leans back and says "I like having a little sister."

"Maybe." She says back. "Mr. Wilson will be here soon with the doctor. Momma says she called them last night when you fell over."

Sarah smiles "And when you come to visit, we can have a sleepover if you want!" Sarah is happy to hear that Wilson will be arriving soon and she'd get a chance to talk to him.

Edeline's eyes go wide. "You eat ice cream?" She asks...
"Oh, now, don't on giving the poor girl ideas." Dora says. "Off with you, now girl, before you miss breakfast."
"But... ice cream." She trails off, as she walks, trying on the idea. "But frozen cream's gross..."

Sarah tries not to laugh at Edeline's confusion. "no.. it's not frozen cream. It's a dessert." She stops when Dora ushers the young girl into the kitchen to have breakfast. "Sorry," she says to Dora "i wasn't trying to stir anything up. I was just trying to make her feel a little better about the idea of my going home."

"It'll be a bit of an adjustment." Dora says. "Not since the Cooper incident has things been so interesting here. It's nice to have a good-news story."

Sarah nods quietly. "I would like to come and visit her if that's ok. And have her come and visit me, if that's all right with you." A small smile appears on her face, "I must admit I've grown fond of her. She's very sweet."

"We'll see." Dora says, oddly non-committal. "Now, get to breakfast. There's still work to be done on this farm." She says, shooing Sarah on.

Sarah nods quietly, trying not to take Dora's "We'll see" response as "That's never going to happen." She really had started to get attached to Edeline, and hoped that she would be able to see her after she's gone home. Heading to the kitchen, she looks around to see who is there before getting herself something to eat.

Just the usual crowd, gearing up for work in there. Cola seemed to be trying to cheer Edeline up. Someone had discounted the idea of ice cream being a good thing.
