Romidus is pleased that he can so easily communicate with the Giantess. He responds to her, 'Hello, I was not sure if I would even be able to understand your thoughts, let alone communicate with you. It is good to see we can. I wish I had thought to try it sooner,'
He pauses to see if she understands before continuing, I will tell you some about us, but I have questions too I hope you can answer. The one holding the sword is named Dryzh, although the sword is not his. So I do not know how adept he is at fighting with it. I am Romidus. The Sun Child is named Sapphire. She is ancient and a creature of magic, although none of her magic appears to work here. Her story is long and quite sad unfortunately. I fear she is having difficulty facing the freedom she has recently been granted. We have no real leaders to speak of, although some, such as Allen, the man who can become a griffin have come to the forefront as leaders. The animal talker is named Aki, and without her I fear we may have still been lost. Her ability to help the goat herder and his flock allowed us to come and find you. Can you tell me more about this world, yourself, the creature you fought? I am sorry to ask so many questions, we are all travelers from another world, and this entire world is new to us. We do not even know by what power or force we were brought here nor do we know the reason why,' he finishes as he crosses his arms into the opposite sleeves of his robe looking up towards the giantess. His mannerisms and way of carrying himself show he is quite comfortable in this desert attire as if he had spent time in ancient Egypt.

Ora looks off into the distance and thinks:
Wow. I knew you we not from the desert, but I never guessed you were from another world. Are there giants there? Nimro Toblaki? We are almost all gone from this world. In the legend, this path was once a bridge between many worlds. The creature you saw is believed to be stranded here from that time. Though there are whispers that things sometimes slip through the seal. That must be what you are. This land is dead. This age is known as the time of dying. Hundreds of years ago, maybe a thousand, an impact destroyed the land and magic perished. Only a few rituals remain, and those require special materials. I have been searching the desert for my kin, but none remain here. Tell the other children I will guide them out of the desert. When we reach the edge of the mountains, I will ask in the towns to see if there is a way out for you. However, in return you must bring me out of this world as well. I will test your swordsman, Dryzh. If he is a master then I will be your Shield Anvil and he your First Sword. You will need a First Sword and a Shield Anvil in the mountains. I have heard there are bandits. But we can discuss this further. We will not cross the desert in a day. Long before we see the mountains I will learn your language and we can plan. For now the desert is all that lies before us.

Dryzh was miserable. his amphibian nature was not meant for the dry relentless heat of the desert and it was a struggle to keep himself hydrated so he didn't feel sick. But even as it was, he did not complain to the others. He did not want to burden his friends with his grief and did his best to contain it and hope they would soon find somewheres out of the cursed sand. To do so, even when they rode at night, he kept t himself.

Romidus considers the giantess, 'we will need to see if Dryzh is in fact a swordsman, if not, we will find one in the group. Our talents seem to be varied. If we can find a way off this world to continue our quest, you have my word as a Spirit of Light that we will do all we can to take you with us.'
After a moment he adds, 'are there any large sources of water nearby? Dryzh's nature demands he have much water. I fear if we do not get him large quantities to not just drink, but also bathe in, he will not survive our journey.'

Bellephoebe is a very tall (6' 2"), beautiful, and curvy female elf with long red hair. She is wearing a dark pink, sequined, ballroom gown and matching shoes, and variety of expensive looking cross-themed jewelery. Over this outfit which does not appear to be intended for casual wear (but is working just fine oddly enough) are a variety of leather straps, pouches, belts, buckles and other things holding a variety of gizmos and tools.
Despite being introduced as Darrel's aprentice and "useful even if her magic won't work here" she has apparently been in shock due to the low magic enviroment, the heat, or some combination of the two. The Gryphon she arrived on has been slowly plodding along carrying her through the most recent events, however she seems to have recovered rather suddenly.
She mutters "Wow, this dimension sucks. I haven't been doing well, but I've heard some of this. Let's see if I can finally do something useful".
Bellephoebe activates a holographic computer on her wrist (an effect similar to an Omni-tool from Mass Effect for those familiar with it) and runs a translation program on what has been heard of the local language and a cryptography program just to make sure we are interpeting the symbols correctly. I am not sure how to do the skill rolls here yet (for the Cryptography) but she was carrying this partially to use as a translator all along. The computer is from the Phase World book and manufactured/purchused from the Naruni (one of their non weapon products) it should be VERY fast, and very powerful so I'd imagine it should get to the point of being able to translate a new language quickly, assuming this one isn't loaded standard (god knows what dimensions The Naruni have visited in their explorations).
Of course using this method we'd have to speak one at a time, and all talk would be going through the computer's synthesizer (ie you speak, the computer translates it, then they speak and the computer translates it, etc.. ).

Allen looked at Bellephoebe as she stirred, but payed more attention to Romidus, as he apparantly communicated with the giant. He was curous as to what the locals thought of this place, and if she would be the guide they needed to get the things they needed to get the exit from this world they needed to get the bath they so dearly needed.
"Dryzh." He says, during the lull, the thought hitting on something. "Next time we stop for water, we'll wait just a little longer if you want to... bathe in the last of the water pit. Will that help?"

Cryptography 70% [dice=100]
Ora glances over at Dryzh. He hasn't fallen off his camel yet. He seems fine to me. I will examine him more closely.
The translator fascinates Ora. The device itself is somewhat useful, but Ora takes its efficiency to the next level. She feeds it words, then listens to what it says and in that way learns from the translator itself. Coupled with Romidus' telepathy, Ora learns very quickly indeed.
A couple of nights later, Ora stops everyone a couple hours before dawn and asks Dryzh, "Sword fight? Sword.... work?"[rand=171573288722719828262670826498919208125898911975410382958252422]

Dryzh looked at Allen, and nodded. " Dryzh try. Dryzh sorry take so much water. Not meant this type place." He replied, his voice soft and cracked.
When the giantess approached him, he nodded slightly," Dryzh fight some with sword. Not think last long, but do best."

When they stop, Romidus makes sure to setup camp near Sapphire. He asks her to sit with him for a time so they may talk, "Sapphire, may we talk a while?"

Ora steps closer to Dryzh and peers into his eyes. She says something that sounds rather harsh, probably a curse or a war cry or something, but not something a translation device would understand.
Up close, her eyes are huge - he is used to seeing them far away on her sixteen foot, seven inch tall frame. They are gold and her pupils are large and dark. After staring into Dryzh's eyes, she reaches out slowly and almost hesitantly touches his head brushing the side of his head with one of her long finger tips. Her touch is featherlight and immediately his whole body feels better. His headache is gone and he isn't quite as dry as before.
She studies him a moment longer and nods. The she steps back and takes out her sword. It was broken about a quarter of the way up the blade in her fight with the bone dragon, so really she now has a two handed dagger. But her long arms give her reach to rival Dryzh's, even if he uses Fakir's sword.

Aki is busy studying the Griffon now. it isn't an animal .. but it is. she moves to stand about 4 feet away and studies the sand and sky then natters at the bird beast before looking at it
'greetings bird beast. you are odd looking to me. but i have little meats left to share. sorry. might i touch your beak?'
*her soft spoken words are aimed for the beast's ears only and she holds out her hand face up in front of htem both and waits. it will choose to interact or not. she doesn't worry too much about it.

The griffon has a high animal intelligence and understands a few languages, but naturally it understands anything Aki says.
The proud creature consents to let Aki touch its beak, but its clear that it doesn't extend this honor regularly. The griffon communicates with Aki about the deserts remarkable lack of rabbits, and the terrible taste of some of the lizards it has found.

Sapphire heads over to the person beckoning to talk. "Yes? I guess if that is what your orders are." Still confused by this whole thing of not having someone to order her around.

Bellephoebe is pleased that her translation seems to be working, and will stay close to anyone who needs to use it to communicate for the moment.
She makes a brief, quizzical notice of Sapphire's mention of orders, but doesn't say anything. She also briefly reflects on how she could probably deal with Dryzh's problem if this wasn't a low magic world. Creating water is normally a trivial act for her, but decides not to mention it because it might be taken as cruel teasing to point out how close a solution might be.
She does however mention to the giantess at some point "Do you have the broken pieces of your sword? If so I *might* be able to restore the blade before we next get into a fight".
On the off chance she does, Bellephobe will attempt to restore the blade using her multi-tool and/or metal spray. The multi-tool can create power tools (and even be used as a welder-axe weapon for 2d6 MDC, or whatever the current damage is). With this bad boy she could probablyreforge the blade given time. However since this is a field repair the intention is to use a shot of metal spray to patch/glue the piece of the blade back together and then use the multi-tool to shave off excess spray/keep up the edge. Given that the metal spray is also at a high tech level, ironically the area where the blade is welded is probably going to actually be stronger than the rest of the sword (unlike most cases where simply welding the pieces back together would make it somewhat brittle). Unless of course Bellephoebe recognizes the sword as being magical (which she probably would) in which case she could probably still fix it, but not here in the field in all likelyhood. As a High Magus she can create enchanted items, but the exact process has never been detailed. She's guessing that isn't likely though given that this a low (almost no) magic dimension.
She hopes that by fixing something it will help her get back into the swing of things.

Dryzh couldn't hide his suprise. " Feel better. You thank." He flashed his first smile in many days. but as Ora drew her blade, Dryzh instinctively pulled Fakir's blade and took up a defensive stance.
