Jessica raises an eyebrow at Tawfeek as she asks "Do you think it's possible the two events are connected?"

Tawfeek grimaces a little. "I think it's possible you were right about this ship." He says. "If you can't find anything from the videos you might as well leave it be and let it fester. No-one's going anywhere." He sighs and stretches from the long shift. "Go chat with Mensk, see if they're related. And get some sleep yourself."
----------------
He's still stable, with no significant signs of deterioration. Some signs that his brain's oxygen levels are not constant enough to prevent brain damage. No signs of internal brain swelling, despite the head trauma, and his blood pressure has normalized. Basically: stable, but not going to wake up today.

Jessica nods. "I'll check with Mensk and then be in my quarters if you need me." Jessica then heads down to find Mensk. ONce she finds him, she asks "Have you figured out what is going on? I'm worried whatever is causing this is causing other problems with the ship."

McKenna nodded slightly as her patient seemed stable. she wouldn't try anything to wake him unless the captain ordered her to. With a quick glance at his wife, she patted her slightly on the shoulder to wake her gently. " You should go get yourself something to eat. He's doing fine, I'll stay here until you get back if you like?" she offered. " At least use the other bed to get some sleep. Those chairs are horrible and you'll feel awful when you get up." she smiled lightly.

Jessica, who was standing right next to Mensk, continues to wait for an answer to her question.

Mensk hears, in response. "Stephens is there by now. Work with her on the issue."

(Sorry I thought I was in an engineering console.)
"I found a section of the computer that appears to be compromised. I fooled the program into thinking its still online so it will hopefully be intact. Might tell us who is behind this or at least narrow the list down." he looked at the code.
"I'll try and access it on an isolated console so it doesn't damage the ships core..." he typed away at the delicate codes. Computer Operation: 80% [dice=100] [dice=100]
Computer programming: 55% [dice=100] [dice=100]

Jessica asks quietly "Which section was compromised? Was it the security system?"

"Likely, If I were a hacker or intruder I would target security or something I could use to get past the security protocols. food, environmental or other low priority system not typically monitored by security." he adds continuing to read code and type.

"Well I know security has been compromised because the security footage cuts out at a most inopportune moment." Jessica replies. "I want to know what they did and try to find out who did it."

"I can attempt to trace which terminal, system and when we had the hacker got in our system." he nodded, "With a no easily accessible wireless ports on board you may want check the passengers with portable computers. If you haven't already."

Flip says, "um...I haven't heard anything yet. I'll make sure I check the next time I'm on the bridge."
Pausing for a second and squinting as he looks at the kid he says, "if your not allowed near cargo, how did you see me running?"

"There's an observation deck." he says, furtively. "Not much to watch. No real TV, and the restaurant people are kind boring after a while."
---------- Mensk/Jessica
The readout finally lists the corrupted drive as being isolated from the rest of the computer. Along with it came a long list of requests for orders for redirecting the data feeds that would normally go to that drive.
The ship would have some kind of wireless, with it being the future and PDAs, but it would unreasonable that such a wireless (or other guest computer connection from a LAN cable) would allow a user easy access to the ship's core systems. The ship's core systems would be isolated from casual interference, so the odds even of a hack are rather low (but never impossible). Not to say what happened until someone works on it, but just giving the odds.

McKenna Misses Johnson got up and blinked for a minute. "Yeah. I'll be back in a little bit. You'll let me know if there's changes?"
