"Noted," Flip says standing up straighter and adjusting his flight suit, almost as if he is in front of a superior. After a pause he says, "you think I'm an idiot don't you? I mean I have someone as amazing as you telling me she wants nothing more than a physical relationship with no strings attached and I'm the one trying to take it slow. I know my buddy's from flight training would call me an idiot. Some days I feel like one."
Flip sighs and shakes his head, "call me old fashioned, I just can't do it. I'm sorry MJ, I know you want something else. I don't mean to force something on you your not looking for."

Thats why I wanted to go slow. I didn't want you to think thats all I wanted. If it was, I could have found something back on the weigh station."

Having sequestered the hard-drive already, Mensk got the note that the hard drive was already sequestered. Nothing was getting in or out of it. The only way to examine the contents would be to re-attach it to the network, or [GM Story Anvil]remove it from the computer core and examine it separately.[/GM Story Anvil]

[GM Story Anvil]Sitting at the top of the stairwell, Jessica looked down at the camera that was ostensibly functioning well. That would mean there must have been something else causing the problem with the hardware involved, since computer hacks and camera temperings have been debunked. Something in the hardware must have caused the camera to skip the feeds, and also caused the fault in the hardware that Mensk was originally looking into.[/GM Story Anvil] In theory, anyways.

" No Ma'am," McKenna changed to her focus," which is a good thing. As long as he stays stable, your husband will be safe. Mr's Johnson, I have to ask you something though. Why would your husband be up in the area he was attacked? Somebody went to a fair amount of trouble to hide their identity during the attack."

Flip offers the woman a smile if she looks in his direction. He waits to see how the conversation plays out and wonders if he and MJ will get time alone and finish their conversation. He wish he knew if he was doing the right thing with her. Taking it slow. Atleast he doesn't stand much chance of losing her by going to slow, her options were very limited on the ship.

(*rubs the lump on her head left by the GM story anvil*  ) Sitting on the stairs, Jessica has a thought. Something about... hardware. Standing up with a tired sigh, she heads back to the section where she and Mensk had been checking out the ideas of computer hacking and camera tampering. If Mensk if still there, she suggests, "We should check out the hardware itself. Maybe the problem is there." If Mensk isn't there, Jessica will check herself to see if she can find any possible problems. |

Seeing the tears, Flip can't help but to move to the woman and offer her a comforting hug. As he puts his arms around her he says in a soothing whisper, "hey now, its ok. Go ahead and let it out."
He just lets her sob for a few moments before adding in the same tone, "he is safe now, and M... I mean Doctor McKenna says he is stable. We'll get him to Mars and medical facility. Things will be ok, you'll see. I know its hard thinking about it, but we just want to try and keep him safe, thats why we're asking about what happened."

Jessica rubs her eyes thinking 'I must be more tired than I realized' Jess then checks tos see if she can get to the computer core to see if there are any problems.

Flip doesn't know if he is doing the right thing but since MJ doesn't stop him he figures he must be atleast on the right track. His mind flashes to the tear stains he'll have on his flight suit by the time the woman gets her composure.

In the medical bay:
"I know, I know." Mrs. Johnson said. "It's just... very hard." She turned away from Foreman, looking a little embarassed. "Thank-you." She said to him, but didn't look at him.

In Engineering:
The ship is running well, but was indicating that soon would be the time to start deceleration (Tawfeek's plan kept the engines at full speed the whole trip to be constantly accelerating), or the ship would not be able to land safely and on time.

On the bridge:
Tawfeek was startled away by Jessica's coming in and looking around for the access to the computer drives. Half awake, he says, "Drop a contact? Or a firing pin?" ANd he hops off his chair to help her look.
The access to the drives was obscured to keep people from poking at it. BUt the bes places would be in the lower levels of the bridge, or under the small stairs there.

Chuckling a bit, Jessica explains to Tawfeek, looking a bit tired "The camera problems have pretty much been ruled out as a software or hacking problem, so I'm checking to see if there is a problem with the hardware side of things." Once she's determined where is the best places to check the drives, she heads down to the lower levels of the bridge and inspects the drives quietly. If it is better to go under the small stairs, Jess will go there instead to check out the status of the drives.

Foreman shrugs, "its ok, and we all understand. Every now and then we all need someone's shoulder to cry into. Don't worry yourself about," he says and has to force himself not to look down at his flight suit or wipe at the tears he knows are there.
"We're all here to help anyway we can," he says to her back before turning and smiling at MJ.
