6.3 Interplanetary space en route to Mars, Day 2

[Dome]

Flip frowns when MJ says that them getting food together can wait. His face shows disappointment, and then confusion as she explains. "Sorry MJ I'm still not following. What did the footage you already watched show?"

[dakota]

"there was an interuption in the camera feed at the same time as the attack." McKenna exclaimed. " So it had to be someone who is technically savvy to pull that off. If we eliminate everyone who couldn't have been involved, we have a shorter list to figure out who is capable of hitting Mr. Johnson hard enough to cause a concussion and have the smarts to mess with the camera system."

She saw the disappointment on his face and grinned as she traced her finger along Flip's jaw," Stop pouting, it doesn't suit you and this is important or one of us ight be next."

she keyed her comm again," Okay Jess, I'll call you when Mrs. Johnson comes back, unles you think it's safe to leave my patient untended with med bay locked down?"

[Mierin]

Jessica nods to herself, and replies "I was just thinking the same thing and was going to check the status of the camera in the stairwell where Mr. Johnson was attacked. I can tell you now, the list of people who could have done that would be pretty short." Jessica had to admit to herself that she was probably one of the few people on the ship who could have done that, but keeps that to herself, knowing she hadn't done it.

Jessica tells McKenna, "Stay with the patient. The last thing we need is whoever did this coming back to finish the job. After all, Mr Johnson is a potential witness when he wakes up."

[dakota]

" Okay Jess, let me know if there's anything else I can do for you?" McKenna replied, then looked at Flip," There, not gonna have to work afterall."

[Mierin]

Jessica replies to McKenna, "Will contact you if I need assistance." Jessica then leaves her workshop, taking care to lock the door behind her and heads back to the stairwell in the hopes of examining the camera itself, looking for any signs of tampering or damage.

[Dome]

Flip raises an eyebrow again at her castigation. He debates pretending to snap at her finger with his teeth but lets it pass as her idea makes him think about the problem, he says, "did the whole system go down, or just in the area he was attacked? If it was just an area, you could check the feeds in the other areas for that time frame, whoever doesn't show up is your suspect. If its the whole system, then its a different matter."

[dakota]

" I don't know, I'd have to ask Jess." McKenna admitted. " Umm, can you access those systems through my terminal? Maybe we can be of some help afterall." she motioned towards her computer.

[Dome]

"I don't know. I guess it depends how the ship is wired overall. I know there is a terminal that can access the camera's on the bridge."

Without saying anything else he walks over and sits down at her computer, and while still silent he attempts to access the camera system from the med terminal.

McKenna glanced up at the clock," where the heck did Mrs. Johnson go, back home for that cup of coffee?"

She walked over to check on her patient again

Jessica's examination revealed no faults in the camera on the stairwell.

Foreman realized that he needed special access to view the feeds on that computer. He might have more luck on the bridge.

Mr. Johnson remained stable.

[Mierin]

Jessica sighs, feeling a bit discouraged that her investigation seems to be going nowhere. Wishing she could figure out what it was that she seemed to be missing, Jessica sits at the top of the stairwell. 'Maybe looking at this from another angle will help.' she thinks to herself.

Thinking back to McKenna's suggestion, she starts to try to think of who could have been savvy enough to cause the interuption in the camera feed and who could have attacked Mr. Johnson. 'One of the couples?' Jess wonders to herself.

[Dome]

Once his attempt fails Flip stands up and watches MJ check her patient. He can't help but smile as he goes over how attractive she is.

When she finishes and looks at him he tries to hide the smile and then says, "can't do it from here, its locked out. I can check when I'm on the bridge." After a pause he does smile again, "or you can come up to the bridge and I can get you in. I'm sorry but it will mean you have to spend more time with me."

[dakota]

McKenna just grinned. " I'm supposed to be the flirt. You're the one who wants to take things slow and get to know each other. May up your mind, mister pilot." she folded her in mock annoyance.

[Dome]

"Oh my minds' made up already. Have no doubt about that," he says with a wink. After giving her just a moment to consider what he just said, he goes on, "so let me get this straight, because I want to get to know you better and spend time with you before throwing you down and showing you how I can make you feel like your flying, I'm not allowed to flirt with you," he asks with mock consternation and a scowl on his face. Just a hint of smile betrays his mock anger.

[dakota]

"That's about the size of it." McKenna replied nonchalantly with a shrug. " I told you up front I wasn't looking for a relationship yet, but if that's what it takes, so be it." Even as she said it, she couldn't help thinking of her kiss with Jessica and smirked slightly.
