Ch. 56 Track Down (all)

[Dome]

Isamu reads the note and tries to make sense of it. 'If grandfather is warning me he must think that the spirit will be coming for me. The spirit no doubt wants revenge for what my ancestors did to him. I better see what information can be found on it.'

He puts the note down and makes his way to Ashley. He sits on the edge of the bed, "I am glad you are ok. I wish you had stayed here and taken more time to recover though. You had me worried."

Alice can't help but feel uneasy as she replies "I didn't put you out. I don't know how to put people to sleep. Why would you think I did that?"

"I do intend on that but it is just that we may have some other plans that may involve that. It is nothing that you need to act on now just doing some planning for the future. Besides you were the one that always taught me I should have a backup plan should the dream die. But we will talk to you later!" And after she says goodbye she hangs up the phone feeling much better now that she had spoken with him.

Then seeing she is on the beach she goes and starts walking back to he house getting half way before sitting down and just enjoying the beach. After a couple of minutes she gets up and runs in to grab her surf board so she can head out and have some fun.

'beach party? sounds different. am i going to have to wear a bikini? sing and dance about?'

*for some reason she's having flashbacks to annette beach party movies [from the 70's era]. 'i don't think i could dance that way . . . '

*she simply grins at the kiss and sighs happily. she pauses then frowns 'uhh Kristian? i just thought of something. you know how i said i couldn't read anyone inside the coffee shop?

'maybe it wasn't a hiccup but an outside power disruption? what if it was .. what if someone could block me to the point i couldn't sense them?

'i mean my range hasn't grown, but what if their range can? and if it can, then . . . wouldn't everyone's power be gone then? maybe i'm worrying too much'

Tom can't break eye contact with Ragnarok until he hears mention of Beth. "yeah. Ok. Thanks guys." he goes looking for his chair.

Tom's chair was in the hall, just as Janie had said.

" Not that kind of beach party. " Kristian said," The kind where we sit around a bonfire, share a few beer and stories. That kind of stuff. " He thought for a moment, rubbing his chin." i don't think anyone was able to hide from you. This started when you got into the Cure. Maybe that is part of the problem?"

"You didn't?" Jason sounded more than a little confused. " But Dylin didn't give me a needle or gas. I just assumed you did it." He propped himself a little higher so he could see Alice better," Mac can't be holding out all these years, it would have slipped if he's one of us, right?"

Ashley smiled at Isamu as she sat up. "Always putting me first. such a gentleman." She took his hand in hers," You can stop worrying about invading Alice's stuff. I know what was in the letter now, he got down on one knee to propose before his surgery. I think... Is, what's wrong? You look like you've got something on your mind."

Deci soon finds that the beach out in front of the house isn't great for surfing, but there's enough to entertain her. She is soon aware that Ryne is sitting on the bottom of the steps, watching her while having a beer.

Deci sighs after the realization comes to her that surfing will not be possible. But does not care as she gets up and heads over to Ryne who has been observing her.

She is tempted to make a comment related to the beer and flying but decides against it as that would be mean and make her come off as seemingly very catty! She does make her way over to him though as he seems to be the only one around. "I guess it must be that boring in the house that the only thing you have to watch is little ole me. Either that or did everyone pair up and are acting on their carnal instincts?" She adds a smirk to the last part which she realizes is catty but still funny in her mind.

Tom reverts to normal as he falls into his chair, then goes to find Beth.

"Not at all." Ryne replied. " I only came out for some fresh air, I didn't know you were even out here. And nothing personal, but I'm not looking for anything from you despite you are attractive, but I am , what, ten years older than you?" He offered the unopened pint next to him, and smirked, " You are old enough, right?"


Tom found Beth on the patio. She was seated looking away from him, and from the looks of things, trembling with her arms wrapped around herself despite the warmth of the midday sun.

Beth didn't answer, but as Tom moved onto the patio, she turned in suprise. It quickly washed away with a bit of releif. " Tom? Thank god a familiar face. That woman that got me out of there said you were there, but I didn't see you. And when the place started to shake, I was terrified." she took a deep breath. " I don't understand, what is all this? Why did he kidnap me?" she stares at him, but Tom soon realized her eyes kept moving between his eyes and mouth.

"I can explain, but it's going to take some time and I'm not sure I understand it myself." he catches her looking at his eyes. "Uhm, is something the matter?"

Deci turns to Ryne and giggles for a moment slightly blushing out of nervousness. "No that is OK I am not looking for anything, and not sure anyone would understand at the moment. And yes I am old enough I turn 20 in December after all." She smiles evilly for a second before continuing. "Oh wait we are not in Canada where the age limit is 18 or 19 depending what province you are in."

She does think for a moment mainly to see if he offers her the beer anyway.

"Sorry, I have to read your lips. " she lifted her hair enough to reveal a cochlear implant. " Whoever that guy that took me must have broken some wiring because I can't hear anything." She blushed a little," Sorry, you're the last person I should complain about a disability to."

"no. No. It's Ok." Tom nods slowly. "I didn't know. It's fine. We can see about getting that fixed. Some of the guys here are good with that sort of thing."
