The Three Demons

*has since finished the second item that was under construction [rolls and % sent to GM via PM] and tidies up and then goes and crawls onto her bed and zones out for now

'now what am i to do in the morning? .. i'll wory about that when i wake up .. ' *is out in under a minute and sleeps like the dead [is a heavy sleeper]

"When you take someone's wound, you share their pain don't you," Dante reading her expression.

[albatross]

"Yes." Her tone is hard and flat. "When I say I draw the wound, I mean that the wound leaves the other person but that it appears on me. Whatever they felt, I feel. If they bleed, then I bleed. What would have been their scar is my scar. I take the pain away from them, but it becomes my pain."

[Dome]

Dante looks truly sympathetic, "you are a very brave person. To willingly take on that pain to help someone else. That shows how big your heart is."

He pauses and then says, "the reason I was asking all of that was to better understand you. There are many different theories about meditation. Some believe that when meditating you should think of nothing at all. Since all my abilities are from my mind, I believe that when meditating one should think about nothing outside yourself. It is the one time to be truly selfish."

Closing his eyes, Dante straightens his back as he continues in almost a monotone as he tries to teach while starting the process, "tune out everything around. The world does not exist. Only yourself. Focus on your memories, on your dreams, your hopes. Delve into your own being. Only by truly knowing yourself can you be able to help others. By learning your own mind you can be in better touch with your abilities. You can come to know your strengths and how best to use them. You can come to know your limitations and how best to work to them without going past. You can understand your weaknesses, accept them as part of who you are, and learn to compensate."

He opens his eyes and looks at Peacemaker. His voice showing empathy and sympathy as he leans close and almost in a whisper he says to her, "I will be honest with you Eliana, meditation is a voyage of self discovery," his eyes close and his face shows anguish before he opens them and goes on, "there will be things that you may discover that you do not like. There may be things that you remember that bring you great pain. While focusing on strengths and good memories is very important, it too is important to accept these other parts of ourselves, to remember the pain, not to relive it, but to learn from it. To acknowledge what may lie deep down inside of us. Not to embrace it but to understand how it affects us. This time of meditation can help you to shape your mind, to shape yourself into someone you want to be. Learn from the bad parts, learn to control how they affect you and to use them for strength yet not let them overtake and become who you are. Like life meditation is about balance."

Looking into her eyes he says, "do you understand?"

Peacemaker nods, "I understand. Self-discovery can be painful. I will search out myself, weaknesses and all."

Dante finds Peacemaker a bright and patient student (IQ 17, ME 14). Her excellent senses can distract her with a flood of information, but she is tireless and holds herself to Dante's lessons.

The next day, the group makes good time and gets to the plane by evening. Tiger looks over Jeckle's work with an approving eye and says, "You've been busy. Keep up the good work. I'll worry about outfitting the new recruit for now, you stay focused on the testers. Her name is Peacemaker. You can make her some toys when we are done with those."

Peacemaker introduces herself to Jeckle with a smile, her blue eye and her green eye taking in all kinds of details inside the plane. Likely she has never seen this much equipment, technology and weapons. Except items that might be carried by mountain climbers.

Tiger gets the plane into the air as soon as possible and sets a course for Berlin. She arranges for a mid-air refueling and tells Strongbow to take a nap so she will be ready for her shift at the controls. Before Strongbow takes a nap, she brings Peacemaker into a private hold for a more through medical inspection.

"Next stop Berlin," Tiger says.

[Dome]

Dante is glad that his sessions with Eliana have gone so well. He is also very glad to be back at the plane. After returning his gear to the normal place he heads over to Jeckle and asks how she is doing. He feels bad they have continually left her all alone. He says, "hey Jeckle, how are things? Is the work coming along? Need help with anything?"

[shiivster]

Jeckle looks up at Peacekeeper and simply nods 'h'lo .. you can tell me what you prefer fighting with later .. nice to meet you' *extends her hand .. then resumes work once again.

'hello Dante' *looks up at him and smiles 'i'm fine thank you. still slogging along and not getting anywhere real fast .. but i'll leave the tough stuff for last .. thanks

As Khris passed, he reached out to muff Jeckle's hair. " Kids and their toys." He mused before taking a seat. " must be easier to focus without us all here to disturb you."

Jeckle rolls her eyes and yawns once then unrolls her portable work tools and starts working again on the next part of the sphere's.

'whatever Irish ... '

*she says little else and continues her work

" Irish? That the best you can do, kiddo?" Khris smirked. " Maybe you need a little more sleep. We've got two more stops, take a break, I'm sure you deserve it."

Jeckle looks at Khris 'not sure if i slept thru a day or not. is this the third day or the fourth since you left? .. i've been busy trying to make things. i'm entitled to be brain numb now

*she starts construction on the second Module now and hopes that her brain will focus long enough to not make any errors. if she constructs the other parts .. the reactor and probably the actuator will be done last. the box will then be constructed about the units.

*she settles down to work, her mind already closing the others out as she gets started working for the next 6 hours

Khris considered making another comment, but instead left Jeckle to heer project. He grabbed a blanket and moved as far away from the others as he could find. He removed his armor and placed it neatly in a pile before settling down to pull the blanket up over his head to try to get some sleep. He reached out to sense where the others were first, before closing his eyes to try to nod off

[Dome]

Dante puts a hand on Jeckle's back and says, "if you need any help please let me know. Its been a while since I have had a chance to work on something like that. Maybe I can skip the next mission and work with you, if thats all right."

[shiivster]

' . . . ' *jeckle turns her head to look up at Dante and gives an odd smile 'thanks, i'll remember you said that. excuse me, i need to work'

*she resumes working, but a part of her recalls asking for help from him and getting rebuked in an odd fashion. now he wants to help? .. doubtful, she's got the schematics in her head now. when push comes to shove, she'll ask the one that did the actual construction.

she resumes her humming. it's a mishmash of tunes, but to her its away of accessing so many memories and program files in her mind. the humming stops as she gets into the trickier parts and works away

The flight is long, allowing plenty of time for Jeckle (and Dante) to work... at least twelve hours. Peacemaker spends plenty of time on her meditation and everyone gets in some rest.

When the team arrives in Berlin, Tiger finishes fitting Peacemaker with one of her dresses. The short black dress fits alright, and some hosiery hides the scars on Peacemakers legs, but Tiger gives up trying to cover the scars on Peacemaker's back and arms with some kind of shawl.

When Peacemaker steps out of the cargo compartment, its plain she has been in a few fights. Knife scars, bullet scars, all healed with varying degrees of skill.

Tiger gives her a nice coat and the tapestry of scars disappears under it. "Everybody all dressed up? The limo is here." Tiger herself wears a navy blue velvet dress that accents her eyes. The skirt is fairly short and her high heels have laces criss-crossing her calves.
