The Three Demons

[Dome]

Dante relaxes once he sees Akane huddle under her clothes and warm her hands. He is obviously relieved that she stayed dressed. He holds Strongbow but remains silent as he watches everyone. He needs to take some time and meditate. Although the fight with Peacemaker went well, he expended alot of energy showing off when he should have just ended it quick. He had thought she wouldn't respect him or the team if he used what she considered "magic" right at the outset. He whispers to Strongbow, "I need to meditate, maybe I should start her lessons."

[albatross]

Bel says, "She wandered off that way." She points. "I bet she isn't tired. She is probably fourteen and as strong as an elephant. Now way she'll sleep after a day like this."

"I'll see you later," Bel says with a wink.

[Dome]

Dante smiles at her and with one last reassuring squeeze of her shoulder stands up and offering Akane a polite smile (if she is up) makes his way along the path Bel said Peacemaker went. He reaches out with his telepathy to try and pick up her location.

Khris shrugged," I dunno, she's good in a fight, but she's still a kid. And you know I'm no good with new people. I mean I just accepted the team we've got. Give her time I guess." was the best he could give an answer.


Later on, though she couldn't sneak up on Khris, he was still suprised when Peacemaker approached him in the darkness of the night. " It's my job to keep watch so the others can get some rest. I don't sleep much myself, and this is one of the jobs I do best. You should be resting with the others, that fight had to take alot out of you."

[albatross]

"Not needing sleep is one of my abilities. I can go for months without sleep and I do not get tired. And I can hear and smell very well. Even now, I can sense Dante walking this way." Peacemaker replies.

"You are right of course, I shouldn't stand watch all night. But perhaps you can come find me when it is your turn to sleep. I will still be awake no matter how late it is."

She turns and calls out softly to Dante in the darkness, "Over here."

[dakota]

Khris didn't tell the girl he had sensed Dante long before she said anything. He also didn't tell her there was no way he'd let a stranger stand guard. " I'll think about it." He called out a little louder," Do you need me to turn on a light for you?"

[Dome]

Dante hears the voice but reaches out to touch her mind and listen to her thoughts for a second and use that as a beacon to find her. He says into her head, 'I know where you are'

'You can hear my thoughts?' Peacemaker thinks.

[Dome]

'Only your surface thoughts...not all the time, I must focus on you to do it.'

[albatross]

'Amazing,' She thinks. 'No wonder you are a skilled fighter.'

[Dome]

As he steps up to her he says out loud, "I have also been trained to fight. I've also had practice in using my abilities in conjunction with my fighting skills. Come with me there is something I wish to show you."

He takes her away from shroud a ways and motions for her to sit. He sits down on the ground across from her and crosses his legs in front of himself. Once she mimics him he asks, "have you ever meditated?"

[albatross]

She shakes her head, "No. I'm heard of meditation, but my parents told me it was a waste of time."

[Dome]

Dante smiles and says, "until you give it a try yourself how can you know? I tell you what, and this goes for anything in life, if someone is willing to teach you something and it isn't something harmful, then why not take the time to learn it? Once you learn it, you can decide whether it is something you can use or not."

"I think everyone can benefit from meditation. But not everyone will get the same benefit. Tell me all about your abilities. Then we will get started."

[albatross]

"I am strong and I don't get tired. Even if you shoot me or stab me I won't die. I can draw others wounds into myself, so if you were shot I could touch you and take away your wound. All five of my senses are very good. I can hear a conversation far away, I can smell everyone here even from a ways away. I can tell you where food comes from by tasting it. I can touch your armor and tell where it has been repaired in the past. I can see miles up a mountain and recognize people I know."

Her tone is even, as if she has spent some time exploring her own powers and she describes them in an impassive way. But Dante could hear a little uncertainty or maybe fear when she talked about getting shot and drawing wounds. She might be able to take a shotgun blast, but judging by her scars she would still feel it - she just doesn't pass out from blood loss and die. She isn't invincible, just immortal.

Dante also knows that her intelligence and agility must be pretty good to have passed the tests. In fact, just talking to her its plain she has a good head on her shoulders for a fourteen year old living in the wilderness in Nepal.

[dakota]

Khris said nothing as the two left, and he resumed his job of watching out for trouble. The girl intrigued him though, so self confident but not cocky. She definitely had potential, if this crazy mission had a chance of sucsess.

He considered checking in on Jeckle, but decided against it in case he woke her up.
