" I didn't see a problem, but with all those stupid billboards of me, the place gives me the creeps a little." Balus said. " But other than that, it seems okay. We just came from the Gardens, Krystal just got an apartment there, and it's a nice spot." He grinned. " At least the police have their best man on the job."

One of the guys is definitely an Epoch Knight (One of Scythe's henchment) and another soldier having an altercation.

(Krystal and Balus)

"Heh. More like the only cop. Police forces are stretched pretty tight in the Gardens. Guess the thinking is that with so many supers and military in the district you'd have to be nuts to try something here."

As soon as Spike Tail finishes that sentence, there's a the sound of a shot fired as a ball of plasma hits the biofreak on the podium sending him hurtling to the feet of the statue.

"Nuts. ALL STATIONS! WE GOT SHOOTERS! LOOK OUT AND CONTAIN. AND SEND IN FOR CROWD CONTROL!"

Krystal knows that people are in danger and seeing Plasma knows that she is not. She flys as fast as she can to the Podium and throws up the largest forcefield she can to protect everyone involved. She knows she can not dome the entire podium so throws up a flat wall field to give as much protection as possible.

Pumping 1500 SDC into the forcefield

If she has a chance she will scan the crowd for the shooter as well that way once located she can customize the shield for it.

With Krystal already reacting, Balus had no other course but to follow her against the crowds. With her field in place he purposely stood outside her field. " Keep them safe. Maybe the guy from the banners is enough to lure the shooter into firing at me. Gonna ruin my clothes, but won't hurt me."

Upho walks up to the two fighters. He says, "is this a private party? Or can anyone join in?"

Leaving the shield in place to protect the others she flies towards the sniper mainly concentrating on the gun at this point but knowing that she needs to stop this as quick as possible and uses a once only with the radiation blast.

As Krystal flew, Balus felt something pang that bothered him more than the energy blast that struck him in the chest. It had caught him off guard and staggered him back, but he didn't go down. He righted himself and looked for Spike Tail, sputtering," Never a cop around when you need one." He turned his attention to those behind the force field. " It's okay, folks. Just stay down and you'll be safe."

Your tail sweep trips the Epoch knight as the other soldier slams his fist into him. "And stay down you punk!"

(Note, you're an officer and the other two have enlisted ranks on them)

(Balus and Krystal)

Krystal's shot melts the rifle as the woman spins up to her feet and hovers slightly off the roof. Now you can see she's wearing an armored costume with a black mask. "You made a mistake little girl. That rifle cost me a lot, so I'm going to have to take it out of you." Clouds start gathering over you and a bolt of lightning streaks out at Krystal

Balus, another Biofreak emerges from the crowd, parting it as easily as you did. Like you, he's a walking wall of muscle, with incredibly long arms and a small head, but he's not nearly as handsome (PB:9). It only takes you a minute to realize it's the legendary arch criminal HAMMERJACK, one of the Power Brigade.

Hammerjack looks at you. "Man, I hate seeing your face on the billboards. I'm not sorry about this." as he takes a swing at you.

Krystal attempts to dodge out of the way realizing she has her shield divided but has no choice but to drop the one shielding from the crowd (gun is down so no need to keep that one up) and uses her action to raise one for body armour.

With the Rider down Upho turns to the other soldier. He is not pleased. Although he had approached with mirth in his voice before, that has quickly been replaced. In an authoritative tone he says, "On your feet soldier. Both of you at attention. I want an explanation before I have you both brought up on charges. A good explanation can make this all go away. So spill it."

Upho waits to see if the soldiers comply. Ready to fight them should that be what they choose, he stands in front of them arms crossed behind his back, and angry glare on his face.

" Hey, I know you." Was all Balus managed to say before the villian's blow struck Balus in his vain attempt to get out of the way.

Unused to anything hurting him, he staggered back a bit. " what did I ever do to you?" He forgot about Krystal's safety as he closed in on Hammerjack, locking his fingers together and swung a uppercut for the man's chest . " If it makes you feel any better, I hate those posters too." "Did he now? And what cause did he have to do this," Upho says glaring at Padar, "and you showed him you were loyal by striking an officer," he says glaring back at the Rider.
