Kendall says to the manager, "we'll be right back."
Turning off his amplified hearing, Kendall extends his hand to Mei and if she takes it he pulls her towards one of the rooms. He closes the door behind them so that they are alone.

"But if I did not, how come you are moving me into this room." She still carries the papers with her not having put them down yet. She shows a hint of being worried because she does not know why he pulled her into the room.

"You did nothing wrong. I pulled you in here because I wanted a moment alone with you. You make me...about before... the kiss. I'm sorry. You make me nervous. I don't know how to act around you. You are so out of my league girl you have no idea. I'm having a hard time because things have gone so fast, and I just keep seeing things, things like this place," he says stepping away and turning away from her and extending his arms out to indicate the room. Turning back, I could never afford a place like this. Yet for some reason you like me, and I can't figure why."
After a pregnant pause he says, "I know its been fast but I seem to be crazy about you, and I'm just afraid and nervous, and you make me so unsure about myself."

Mei is happy. No one has ever said anything along those lines, but by the same token is worried that because of all what he is saying that he is going to just leave without giving it a chance. She breathes deep.
"Look I can not promise I will stop making you feel this way but if you give it a chance maybe we will see where things go down the road. You invited me to stay at your place, and say you can not afford one like this, well who cares. Money is not everything, happiness is. And this place, if it is too rich I will not get it. If you want to slow down then you can disregard my invite I will be giving. Mind you it was for the extra room to start. What I am saying in a nutshell, I like you, if it makes you uncomfortable then I am sorry! Hopefully you will come to understand that anything like this is new to me so if I screw up please forgive me!"
With that she gives a quick kiss on the lips. "We can talk more later when it will make you feel better!"

'Another kiss she did it this time. She must like me', he thinks. Then he says, "Wait Mei. I know this isn't really the time but I think I need to get this out and I'll feel better."
After a few second pause he says, "Look, I'm kinda new at all this too. I just thought I knew what I was and what I wanted, and you came in and now I know I want something different. I'm not going anywhere. No way a guy can do any better than you, hun. I just don't want to disappoint you."

Mei smiles again. "Well it is best we get down so I can finish signing the paperwork. Then probably a bank draft. Then probably furniture. I guess when I have a moment or two that will have to be next on my list!" She states as she heads out of th Bedroom.
(OOC - for some reason I see this as a 2 bedroom loft setup. I may be wrong but that is how I visualize!"

Kendall smiles back as they head out of the room. He reactivates his amplified hearing and proceeds to listen again. He also turns back to the manager, "so phones and data? Oh and whats building security like?"

The apartment is a standard 2-bedroom deal. not loft, but certainly a potential to look rich, elegant, spartan, or other adjectives you'ld find in a magazine.
Kendall's hearing detects noise in neighbouring apartments, though he needs higher-levels of detection to hear what would be normal volumes in the neighbouring units. A dog is yipping for food, TV/news is being watched (it being later in the evening right now). Which reminds me.
"Won't be a bank in the world open at this our, Miss." THe manager says. "But you have a week to put your money in order. Security's pretty standard. Cameras, the front door, as you saw (which was fairly good and higher-techish). Phone and net jacks in each room, space for routers and modems and secret spy devices in with the fuses and water heater." He finishes, on the little joke. "Also, no super-high-tech future science stuff if you can help it. Friend of mine found that in a student apartment. The walls looked like speggettie." Kendall saw that apartment, too, a while ago.
Also... a pregnant pause?

Kendall turns off his amplified hearing walks up to a wall taps on it and listens for a second, more for show than anything. "Walls sound pretty thick. Don't think you'll hear the neighbors anytime soon hun," he says looking Mei and giving her a wink. "Sounds like all the wiring is already done Mei. Just plug and play. You won't need me for that." {Dictionary.com - Pregnant - fraught, filled, or abounding (usually fol. by with): a silence pregnant with suspense. So i didn't add anything at the end but I thought the situation spoke for itself  |

"OK then, I will have to grab one in the morning then. And here is the completed paperwork then. When can I move in then if you do not mind the question." She then turns to Peter while waiting for the Sales rep to respond.
"So that means you like it. That makes me happy then if you do. Hopefully soon we will be able to go shopping for furniture and such for it.)
(And Pregnant Pause....methinks someone is just showing his age, I had not seen that pharase used since the early 80's in books.)

"In a week's time, after everything's settled." The manager says, clearly lacking a pregnant pause. "Got rules to follow for this kind of thing, to make sure everything is koesher on both ends. Otherwise, if you're done with the paperwork, we can get everything going."
