CH 16: Moving on... (Mai and Kendall)

[sasqaricious]

"Oh, you are looking out for me and my future. Thank-you William! Also you seem to be holding back on information, but I can understand why. With my luck there is some temporal prime directive or something. You are not in starfleet are you?" She asks with a grin remembering a couple of those shows she watched when she was younger. They were not really her thing but sometimes the information came and was useful.

She then attempts to do some dancing across the floor to test it out. "Yes this will do quite nicely then! You mentioned hero stuff indicating that I do more then one event of acting as a hero then?"

[Renekin Skywalker]

"Not Starfleet." William answers, "But The TMC. And, technically, I'm on extended leave while I have this guy." He points to the sword. Beyond that, he simply grins, toothily, the charm a little disconcerting for what he doesn't say.

Despite breaking the urban speed limit, Kendall manages to race across town without getting any tickets. Must be pretty normal in this town, or something.

Eventually, he comes to Mei's building. Though, he is currently locked out.

After about 20 minutes, the manager comes back to Mei. William seemed to vanish. "Got the paperwork. They accept the price."

[Dome]

As Kendall approaches the building he slows down until he can stop right in front of the building. Realizing he can't get in, he calls Mei, "hey hun, I'm downstairs. Locked out."

[sasqaricious]

"Oh that is perfect then, I can probably hit the bank today and get a draft of the money. We should probably hit the paperwork now unless you want me to go get a money order first."

Hearing her phone ring. "Oh ok, let me see what I can do, hold for a sec." She turns to the sales rep. "Do you mind if I have my friend come up here and see the place or should we get all this sorted through first?" She waits for the answer before responding to Peter on the other end of her phone.

[Renekin Skywalker]

"I'll have the super send him up." Says the Manager, handing over the paperwork.

A few minutes later, Kendall is in the apartment as well. "We were just going over if there were any questions." The manager said. (NOTE: Kendall is an Engineer! Have fun!)

[Dome]

Kendall looks at the building and examines it closely as he is shown up to the place. Its the kind of place he would be called to work. Not one he could afford to live in. 'Kendall this Mei is sure out of your league, Not only is she beautiful and talented, she's got money.'

Kendall whistles loudly as he is shown in to the apartment. He stops in then entrance and takes a look around. "Wow," is all he says as he looks around. Not the fanciest place he is been in, but obviously better than his apartment, by miles.

"Oh you like it then." Mei says starting the work on the paperwork. "I am surprised you do not want to look around closer at it?" She thinks knowing this seems more up his alley then hers!

[Dome]

"Oh yeah, umm...sorry just alot to take in," Kendall says looking up to the ceilings and over towards the balcony.

"Why don't you show me around the place. You could um... Tell me what you plan for each space maybe I could come up with something to uh ...ask, or some advice or something," Kendall tries to make himself look comfortable being there. But it makes him look even more stiff and uncomfortable than usual. 'Really outa my league, jeesh.'

Unseed, William seemed to be smirking - the pair just knew it. Kendall's enhanced hearing picked up something near the balcony about how a telecommunications engineer can't even think to ask about phone jacks or wiring.

[Dome]

Picking up the sound of murmuring Kendall is snapped out of his self loathing. He asks the manager, "so what kind of wiring is in the place? I mean for phones, cable, internet. you know the basics."

"Plan for each space. I had not even thought of that. I just thought this place is perfect. I just thought seeing you are way more knowledgeble in structure and electronics that we might want to look it over. I mean I imagine you will be a fair bit if not permanently at some point and thought you would like to look it over. I mean it has a south facing window for max sun, so I am thinking a sunning zone and walls are sound proofed." She looks at him hoping he will know better.

[Renekin Skywalker]

"Wired for sound, for sure." The manager says. "Jacks in all the rooms, 110 current, 220 for the major appliances. Fuse box is in the laundry space, left of the water heater." He says. "No ceiling lights, except the living room, so you'll need to bring your own in."

No way to know for sure how quiet the wall are, unfortunately, except by experience.

[Dome]

"Sorry Mei, I... yeah its stupid of me to think you got it all planned already. Was ... you want ... perma..." The normal confidence Kendall portrays in most situations is nothing but dust when around Mei. 'I can do this. Come on remember the Cavaliers, how cool and confident I was when dealing with them, and then at the police station. Even with Dorsette. Why does this girl make you studder and stammer and forget yourself? Snap out of it already.'

Back to the manager he says, "What about phone and data?"

While waiting for the manager to answer Kendall increases his amplified hearing to see what he picks up out side of the apartment. He walks around and stops by each wall and listens for a second before continuing.

"Um, is there something wrong? You seem hesitant in your responses. Or confused?" She is worries as she is not sure if something is wrong or not!

While Peter looks around she sits down and starts filling in paperwork. She will crop up with random questions if she does not understand what she is looking at.

[Dome]

"Umm... yeah I'm...," Kendall looks at Mei, waits to catch her eye and then moves his rapidly towards the manager. Then back at her, "yeah I'm ok," the look on his face saying otherwise.
