Coop was on the defensive, slinging the magical rifle in favor of the hammer he had also picked up. He backpedaled a bit, ready to protect himself while waiting for an opening to strike back.

[Mierin]

Sarah throws a fireball at the nearest Gurgoyle.

Much to Sarah's suprise, he fireball did an unexpectedly large amount of damage to the Gurgoyle, fllooring it, just as a second was coming for her.

At the same time, a Gurgoyle charges Coop, hammer or no hammer.

Coop let the Gurgoyle keep coming, the hammer held in a double fist grip over his shoulder. Once it was close enough, he swung it baseball style, " Batter Up!"

Sarah throws another fireball at the approaching gurgoyle.

And so the battle gets all super-monkey badly-written vaguery of moreso.

Eventually, the military forces had started to overwhelm their attackers and were beating the gurgoyles back. Unwatched, the Montrose monster was trying to suck in all the released PPE from the battle. Quite nefarious, it will be written, of the mage, sucking up all the wasted energy so he could time it himself.

"Oh, I get it now." MOntrose said, chuckling. "I don't even need a spell!" His eyes were crackling super-charged energy. "Well. I guess it's time."

"Not yet!" Cryn'jol yelled. A very large and explosive spell at Montrose. The attack was basically absorbed by the demonman.

"Well, take this!" Montrose countered. But the spell fizzled. "I mean this!" The spell fizzled again. "And thi - what?!" Montrose was losing his ability to cast spells. "No! I will destroy this place! It is my time!" And he started conjuring a particularly powerful spell. Even Coop and Sarah could feel it. However, the funky green smoke bolting from his hand fell into nothing a foot later. "no!"

Behind him, Coop and Sarah could see Moe. Though they couldn't feel him.

"Yes." Cryn'Jol "My power will always surpass yours."

"How are you doing this?!" Montrose says, casting another spell, that failed. "HOW?!"

"I'm only the distraction. Coop and Sarah are creeping up on you." Cryn'Jol said.

" Sarah, can I ask you something?" Coop pulled the magical firearm again and aimed at the demon [dice=20] str=17[rand=82290566638231556410625907353069900448242465664323187041329517838]

Coop's shot fizzled off of Montrose. Whatever shield he had, it was pretty potent.

Also, by the way, Sarah had enough PPE to activate her tattoo.

Montrose, for his part, turned from Cryn'Jol, and attempted a super-nuclear-kill'em-all spell. But it, too, fizzled. He was clearly getting exasperated.

[Mierin]

Sarah glances over at Coop as she says "Sure, what's up?" As she waits for a response, she figures given how strong the shield Montrose had was, she reaches down and activates the tattoo on her wrist, activating it.

[dakota]

Coop waited until Sarah did whatever she was up to. " Well, when this is finished, can we take a vacation? you know, go away somewheres warm and sunny so we can walk along the water's edge, swim in a pool, have a nice private wedding ceremony on the beach, all that sort of stuff."

Sarah grins at Coop as she says "I love that idea." She then uses her tattoo to cast the spell call lightning, hoping it would be enough to damage Montrose's shield.

The shot from Sarah's lightning bolt broke Montrose's shield, after the massive onslaught.

Finally the Rifts were closing, and the flow of monsters had long stopped. Their bodies, as well as some mages and plenty of soldiers, were starting to litter the area. "This is getting expensive." Eleutheroi said, as he wrestled some kind of winged creature to the ground, near them, his attacks long past the super-human. "Deal with him."

"No!" Montrose says, trying to resurrect the shield, but failing.

Behind him, though, they could see Moe, and he suddenly collapsed.

"Not enough power! Gyyaaaah!!!!" Montrose says, and decides to physically attack Sarah and Coop. "I shall at least take the Decree Slayers with me!"

With no shields, Coop did what came naturally in front of Sarah and fired again at Montrose. " Zap him again while I distract him."

(Pssst, then maybe Coop should roll to strike? Possibly damage? No sense in wasting a shot.)

Sarah steps to the side so that she has a clear view of Montrose as she casts another bolt of lightning down on Montrose.
