The driver,was getting slightly annoyed. " Mr. Murdock, why don't you stay in the buggy where it's warm while I deal with this costumed nut." He turned back to Cap," and where do you get off damaging my machine and then try to blow me off?"
Matt heard the 'heavy' person approaching, but the steps changed to much lighter as they neared. Ghostsabre spoke before she got too close to ease the chance of catching anyone offguard. She was laughing slightly," What did you do, trade the big guy for an old crank and from the looks of it, a blind guy? by the way, I found a place for our other friend to stay." Her speech was deliberate, to imply it meant something else.

Cap shakes off the comment. "No offense is meant sir, but there's a threat in the area." He looks to Ghostsabre. "The threat is contained? Show me."

"Threat? Do you mean a rather large thing? I heard heavy footstep go away that way," Murdock says and points in the direction he heard the thing leave.

Tabitha looked at Matt. " You what? How did you hear anything over that rattle trap diesel?" she turned back to Cap. " I said I found a place for him. I thought you were going to entertain him until I got back."
the driver groaned." It's too blasted cold out here for this. You owe me a new fender, and I'm reporting you to the constable's office." He stomped back to the buggy, looking at Murdock," Let's get you in to the motel."

Cap nods at the driver. "Do what you need to." As he runs back to try and find the creature.

Murdock asks the man, "how far to the motel are we?"
He turns toward where the woman was last and says, "is your friend always this high strung?"

" About five minute, and another five to get you settled in." The driver said gruffly, his feathers still ruffled by Cap as he got back into the machine. Once Matt got in, the machine followed a simple to remember course in through the isolated town to stop at the only motel. They didn't get many visitors out here.
Tabitha chuckled. " No idea, but from what I've seen, this is pretty tame for him. You had better get going, sir." She replied to Matt before following Cap.
Beyond the tundra buggy, Cap quickly found Wendigo's tracks, and judging by the distance between the tracks, the creature was moving fast and had a huge headstart. "I...," Tabitha stuttered from her teeth chattering before reverting to her steel form again," I'm guessing we're not going out after him?"
She took a moment once the buggy started moving, then couldn't help but chuckle," Do you always make things this complicated? We start out looking for survivors, including who I'm sure Hawkeye. Then we add in finding my mother's sword which you lost, running into some ice monster I've never seen the likes of , but that wasn't enough so you had to rile up one of the locals by causing a fender bender. am I missing anything?" She chuckled again.

"Hmm, the part where you almost died trying to prove a point, and the part where there's a monster on the loose that has a habit of cannabilism. Now, honest answer, how are you feeling?" Cap responds.

" Okay, so I admit the perfect soldier has better endurance than me. I thought I already admitted that." Tabitha replied with a scowl. " And honestly, I felt better when that thing jumped me and my adrenaline was pumping. think I need to crash, but no more of that nasty stuff you tried to feed me, okay?" She looked out over the tundra," So what was that thing, and what do you mean by cannibal? there's more of them?"

"It's a Wendigo - a person cursed into turning into a monster that feasts on living flesh, including people. A near-Hulk class threat. " Cap responds. "You go rest, I'll keep lookout for the creature, your sword, or any other surprises."

" No wonder it hits so hard. It must have thought I was an easy meal then when it jumped me." she looked at him, " Cap, you need some rest too. You might be this dimensions greatest hero, but you have to stop sometime. We both get a couple hours of rest, and then we get back to it first light, okay?"
she turned and started to walk towards the town. "You're not at all what I expected. Before I joined the Exiles, I knew your daughter, Glory, or at least the one from my dimension. She's nearly as hard headed as you are, but you seem less... I dunno, maybe it's just because Gloria has a meanstreak."

Murdock climbs into the vehicle and says nothing as they head towards the motel. He thinks over things, 'I need to find Captain America again. However when I do, he will probably put two and two together, blind man in the middle of no where, blind superhero in the middle of no where. Right now I just need to get rid of this guide and handle things on my own.'
He says, "will there be any other guides at or near the hotel that can take me to the crash site? I don't want to inconvenience you anymore than I have."

Matt could hear the shrug in the man's voice. " sure. I got another gig back at the airport I dropped anyways. The guy who runs the motel can help you out." the machine rumbled on for a few more minutes before stopping. " Here we are." the driver helped Matt with his bags and led him inside.
The woman that came to the desk was silent for a few minutes, but Matt could hear her pulse quicken. " sorry mister, don't get many blind people come here by choice." He could hear her hammering at a keyboard. " not sure why, but the lady that called to book your room took the only one we got with an outside entrance. You don't exactly look like the midnight stroll type." she chuckled nervously. " Everything is all set. I'll show you to your room."
The woman led Matt down a long hallway to a room at the back of the motel. " If you need anything, just doubleclick the phone receiver to get the town switchboard. Whoever is working will put you through to the front desk. And don't leave the door open, bears sometimes wander into town and are curious enough to come in looking for food." Unless Matt stops her, she yawns before saying goodnight and leaving him alone.
It was clear that Tabitha wanted to talk more, but she didn't pry as they returned to the old man's shack. The door was still open, but there was no sign the old guy had gotten up. Tab looked at Cap, I'm sorry if I'm a pain. I'm not used to being the sidekick . You want the couch or the chair?"

Murdock Thanks the driver for everything he did. Thank you Murdock says as the woman leaves. Once in the place he quickly takes out his costume and changes into it. He prepares to head out to find Captain America and his friend.
