Issue 4: Hunting an old friend ( Cap & DD)

Daredevil pulls his billy club and uses it to parry the attack.

He then spins and uses the club to strike the sleazoid on the back of the head

He uses the billy club to hold the creature in place and then brings his knee up into the creatures stomach.

Cap deflected and then knocked hisSleazoid aside with ease, and Daredevil knocked his flat as well, but while he continued to battle it, the first brood leapt at him from behind, it's teeth meant for his shoulder [15 strike, plus roll vs balance or it knocks DD to the ground]

As Cap opened the door, he could see Hawkeye was chained in place with his back to the door and his head drooped to his chest. Beyond him was a single what could only be a Brood egg.

"Alright Avenger - up and at'em" as he tosses his shield to sever the chains

When the creature hits DD's back, instead of trying to maintain his balance, he rolls with the creatures weight, and tries to drive it into the floor with his shoulder before it can bite him.

Hawkeye's head came up as the first chain was severed, and strangely his hair was grey. He turned to look at Cap and it wasn't the Clint he knew. Without his mask, the Hawkeye he'd just saved was at least twenty years older. " how is this possible? you've been dead for fifteen years. You can't be the real Cap." He was weak and dulled from whatever the Broodlings had done to him.

DD avoided being bitten and now had the second pined when he felt a rapid tapping on his shoulder. Tabitha stood over him, her winter garb nearly tattered. " where's Cap? We gotta go now. Wendigo is pissed, but at least these damn brood are after it instead of us." With that she stopped her foot down on the sleazoid DD was holding's head, and it went limp. " I hate these things" She seethed.

"Worry about that later, Clint. We got to get you out of here." as the shield returns, he uses it to snap the other chains holding Hawkeye.

DD stands and says, "good timing. He went through there," he says pointing at the door.

DD steps through with billy club still drawn not knowing what would be waiting for them.

With the chains released, Hawkeye dropped to the floor.

Following DD in, Tabitha spoke, " I can't beleive we spent all this energy to rescue this old coot."

" Tabby? What the hell is going on here?" Clint demanded.

" Explain later. Let's get out of here before..."

"Wendigo!" Bellowed from the other side of the door.

" That would be my dance partner. You three get out of here." She went metallic and went back tothe other room, followed by a loud crash. Dust fell and a support beam fell, narrowly missing Hawkeye. " Those two will bring the place down on us."

Cap takes the older Hawkeye over his shoulder. "Move out" as he raced for the exit

[Dome]

"Then we should go. Quickly. Even if the place comes down, she can walk out can't she?"

DD tries to figure a way out, moving his head around in all directions, what looks like to the others like he is looking around.

Daredevil gets a much better look at the interior of the shaft this time, and he quickly sees why the support fell. The entire place is becoming unstable, mostly in part to the brawl between Tabitha and Wendigo.

[Need 3 rolls each to avoid being hit by falling debris (dodge, parry, player's choice)and take 2d4 dmg each failed roll]

By the time the three men reached the surface, a crowd was growing. But it was pushed back by a sudden rush of dust followed by the unmistakeble 'bump' of a mine collapse shaking the town. moments later, Tabitha emerged, though she hardly looked like the winner of her scrap. " He's gonna be mad at me if he ever claws his way out of that." she grinned.

DD runs through the tunnel doing his best to dodge all of the falling debris,

Captain America surveys the scene, then barks at the onlookers. "We got people here who need medical attention!"

He looks at Tabitha. "Good work, soldier."

" Nothing a couple drinks and some sleep won't fix." Hawkeye replied.

Tabitha threw her arms around Hawkeye, " I thought we lost you, Colonel. What happened."

" I'll explain later. After someone explains to me what is going on here. Why is Cap still alive, and how come Daredevil is younger? " He grins shightly, " You look better without the beard by the way."

"Beard? What beard? I've never had one," says DD rubbing his chin.

"While your explaining that to him, someone care to explain whats going on to me?"
